Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the recording speed, image density and impressed voltage of an electrostatic recording element, which is suitable in a both-side control system of a transfer type electrostatic recording system, by forming a dielectric sheet at its one side with a special low resistive layer in a stripe shape. CONSTITUTION:A dielectric sheet 1 having an intrinsic resistance higher than 10<12> ohms cm is formed with a mask and is evaporated with a metal (or its oxide) of low resistance. In an alternative, a low resistance layer 2 having an intrinsic resistance lower than 10<8> ohms cm is formed in a preset pattern or stripe shape by the printing or applying method. The width of the stripe is made such that the width of one of the low resistance band corresponds to the one group of a needle electrode and that the spacing between the adjacent low resistance bands is equal to the spacing between the adjacent needle electrodes. The sprocket holes 3 at the both sides of the sheet 1 fix the respective groups of the needle electrodes and the layer 2 in a corresponding manner. Thus, the parallel low resistance bands can be formed easily without any contact between the adjacent low resistance bands.
