Abstract
PURPOSE: To suppress the evaporation of fuel discharged from a carburetor during engine stop by arranging a valve apparatus which allows a float chamber and a fuel tank selectively to communicate or to be shut-off.
CONSTITUTION: In the lower part of a float chamber 31, a fuel sink 36 which communicates to the float chamber through a small hole 35 is installed. With the lowest part of the float chamber 31, a fuel pipe 43 which communicates to a fuel tank 47 is connected. The fuel pipe 43 is equipped with a check valve 46 and an electromagnetic valve 44 which switches-on or-off the communication to the passage of the fuel pipe 43 by means of a switch 45 which operates in connection with an ignition switch. During engine stop, the electromagnetic valve 44 is opened by the switch 45, and the fuel pipe 43 is allowed to communicate with. When the electromagnetic valve 44 is opened, the fuel in the float chamber 31 passes through a fuel pipe 43, due to the head of the fuel, and returns to the fuel tank 47, and fuel is left only in the fuel sink 36.
