Abstract
PURPOSE: To surely take out a small carrier from an entire fluidized bed and appropriately dispose of waste water, by forcing the waste water to spirally flow at a relatively low speed through the fluidized bed having the small carrier and by providing a small carrier take-out port near the center of the spiral flow of the waste water.
CONSTITUTION: A waste water supply pipe 3 is connected to a cylindrical vessel 1 in the tangential direction therof. The waste water is blown from the pipe 3 into the vessel 1 by the pump of a forced flow mechanism P. The waste water has a velocity component along the circumference of the disposal vessel 1 and swirls upward therein. Because the disposal efficiency falls if the thickness of microbe layer coated on a small carrier (a) increases, the small carrier is taken out and regenerated. A take out pipe 6 is opened near the center of the spiral flow of the water to uniformly and surely take out the small carrier (a') from the entire fludized bed. The carrier is removed of the microbe layer by a unit 8 and is sedimented and separated by a unit 9 so that the carrier is regenerated. Then, the regenerated carrier is supplied again to the fluidized bed.
