Abstract

PURPOSE: To lower the pressure loss while the dust collecting efficiency is maintained by a method wherein a dust containing gas stream is introduced while flowed downwardly in a spiral form from an upper part of a cylindrical barrel.
CONSTITUTION: The dust containing gas stream introduced from an arranged pipe 4 is flowed into a cylindrical barrel 1 from a tangential direction and guided to a spiral introducing passage 2 and the dust collection of the dust in the gas stream is initiated immediately after said gas stream is introduced by the effect of the spiral downflow and the centrifugal force and slipped down smoothly on a bottom wall 11 to be dropped into an inverted conical hopper 8 and the remaining dust is also collected by the centrifugal force of a revolved swirling stream in a barrel 1 and exhausted from an exhausted pipe 21. The purified gas after dust collection is raised while revolved in the barrel 1 and guided to a gas exhaust and guide part 19 to be exhausted from an exhaust pipe 3.
