Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the efficiency of separating microforeign matter by arranging a compressing area, accelerating area, expanding area and flow rectifying area continuously and subsequently in the lead-in path of the liquid to be treated.
CONSTITUTION: The liquid to be treated being pressure-fed from a mouth part 14 into a treating liquid lead-in path 11 is increased of its pressure in the compressing area A, is increased of its velocity in the accelerating area B and enters the expanding area C. When it enters the expanding area C, the liquid to be treated diffuses to disperse the solids mixed therein in the floating state. At this time, the liquid to be treated generates the components falling spirally but as they pass through the flow- rectifying area D, they will not lose the inertia of spiral downfall even if they are released into a cylindrical body 10. The solid heavy microforeign matter in the liquid to be treated are concentrated in the direction along the inside circumferential face of the cylindrical body 10 at all times and fall gradually into the cone on the lower side of the cylindrical body 10. Only the solid light microforeign matter ascend in the center of the cylindrical body 10 and are discharged to the outside together with the treated liquid through an effluent pipe 16.
