Abstract

CONSTITUTION: When combustion is initiated at a burner 7 with air valve 5 and a gas valve 6 opened, the high temp. gas formed by combustion passes through a combustion chamber 3, a regenerator 2 and is discharged through a flue valve 8 to the outside. While the gas passing through the regenerator 2, heat exchange occurs between the checker beicks and the high temp. gas, and the heat is accumulated. In that case, gas of high calorific value is used as fuel gas from the beginning of the combustion until the checker bricks are heated to th allowable temp. so as to reduce time required to reach the allowable temp., then, after the checker bricks are heated to the allowable temp., the combustion is conducted by use of low calorific value.
