Abstract
PURPOSE:To make it possible to effect the interchange of optical pathes promptly at a low loss by constructing a focusing optical transmitter, which has a refractive index to be reduced in accordance with the square of the distance from a center axis, such that it can move relative to incident means and light receiving means. CONSTITUTION:A focusing optical transmitter 200 has a length equal to a quarter of the meandering period of light along a center axis 500, and has its vertical end face positioned at the side of optical fibers 101 to 103 and its inclined end face, to which a reflective film 300 is directly attached. The light incidnet upon the end face of the transmitter 200 from the optical fiber 101 advances throught an optical path 152 so that it is reflected by the film 300 and further advances through the path 152 so that it is transmitted to the optical fiber 102. By turning the transmitter 200 180 degrees about the center axis 500 with the use of a turning unit 201, the light incident upon the fiber 101 can be interchanged to the fiber 103.
