PURPOSE:To obtain an inexpensive and low-loss optical path switch by providing between an incident optical fiber and emitting optical fiber a light-transmissive body which has a couple of parallel planes, slants to an optical path and is capable of rotating on the optical path of the incident optical fiber as an axis. CONSTITUTION:Between optical fibers 15 and 18 in parallel to an optical fiber 11, a light-transmissive body 13 having a couple of parallel surfaces is provided ratatably on the optical path of the optical fiber 11 and slanting to the optical path at an angle theta1. The angle theta1 is so determined that tantheta1=n2/n1 for the refractive index n1 of a circumferential medium and the refractive index n2 of the light-transmissive body 13. Light passed through the optical fiber 11 and collimated via a lens 12 is transmitted in the light-transmissive body 13 to strike the optical fiber 15. Then, the light-transmissive body 13 is turned by 180 deg.C to change said optical fiber over to the optical fiber 18 for incidence. Thus, the inexpensive and low-loss optical switch is obtained.
