Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable the true moving target to be detected by making use of the differences in the properties of power spectra obtainable from clutter signals and reflected waves from the moving target. CONSTITUTION:The reflected signals from the target are branched 9 and the complex signals of in-phase components and orthogonal components are formed with phase detectors 10, 11 and phase shift circuit 12. These outputs are respectively A/D converted 13, 14, and are further supplied to memory circuits 15, 16. Further, they are operated of the correlations between the signals themselves of the same distance and of slightly varying phases in an arithmetic circuit 17. Here, the correlation functions of clutter become gauss curves and since the Doppler signals of the moving target are of cosine function characteristics, the auto-correlation functions of the clutter having beforehand been operated in a clutter correlation generator 19 are substraced 18, whereby the correlation functions of only the target signals may be obtained. Fourier transformation 22 of these enables the true moving target to be accurately detected.
