Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent the whitening of the neck and the bottom of a bottle by the growth of spherulites, and to obtain a heat resistant polyester drawn bottle having excellent transparency and toughness, by heat setting the parts of the bottle other than the neck and the bottom thereof, while cooling the neck and the bottom parts.
CONSTITUTION: A polyester resin bottle prepared by biaxially drawn blow molding, etc., is secured to a mandrel 4. The mandrel 4 and the neck part of the bottle 1 are clamped with molds 6, 6', and the bottom 2 of the bottle is pressed with a bottom mold 5. The molds 5, 6, and 6' are cooled below the heat treating temperature. The bottle and the mold 5, 6 and 6' are clamped with hot main molds 7, 7', and at the same time, the center of the bottom 2 of the bottle is pressed with the top of a rod 8. Compressed gas is introduced into the bottle through grooves 10, and the bottle is brought into close contact with the molds 7, 7', and heat treated.
