Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide a fluidized combustion furnace, in which a multiplicity of water nozzles are provided at an upper portion of combustion chamber so as to inject water from the nozzles and thus to cool the combustion gas, whereby it is enabled to make an efficient use of the installation space, since it is not necessary to provide a special chamber for treating dust containing water or for cooling the combustion gas. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of water nozzles 6 are provided in the side wall of a fluidized combustion furnace at a portion thereof located upwardly of combustion chamber 5. High-temperature combustion gas generated from the combustion chamber 5 is cooled by mist-like water particles ejected from nozzles 6 when water is evaporated into vapor while absorbing evaporating heat, and the combustion gas thus cooled is discharged from the furnace through gas cooling section 7. Subsequently, dust removing treatment is applied to the combustion gas. Here, if water ejected from nozzles 6 is not completely evaporated in the combustion chamber and drips downward in the furnace or along the furnace wall, water drips are evaporated completely by the high-temperature combustion gas flowing upward in the furnace together with heat keeping function of the furnace itself, so that water drips can be evaporated completely and therefore water is not discharged to the outside of the system in the least. Further, bacause of the arrangement that water ejected from nozzles 6 and combustion gas flow in opposite directions to each other in the furnace, space for the gas cooling section 7 can be considerably small.
