The filling 25 may be a water-mixed cement mortar or an organic (e.g. phenolic) resin incorporating asbestos, calcium carbonate and metal filings. Two pistons 16 are shown, these pressing brake pads 18 against a disc 10 when fluid pressure is supplied from a master cylinder 31.
