Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.投射パネル(12)と、光源(16)と、反射プリ偏光子(26)とを備え 、 投射パネル(12)は、液晶ディスプレイ(20)と、1つの偏光子が前記デ ィスプレイの各面に隣接する、一対のダイクロイック偏光子(22,24)とを 含み、 光源(16)がパネルに光を向けるためのものであり、 反射プリ偏光子(26)は、光源と光源に面するダイクロイック偏光子の間に 設けた複層の光学フィルム(36)を備えており、前記フィルムが隣接材料層の 複層の積層対(44)を備えており、層対のそれぞれが反射プリ偏光子面の第1 方向の隣接層(41,43)間で屈折率差を示し、反射プリ偏光子面の第2方向 と第1方向の直角方向の隣接層間で本質的に屈折率差を示さない、液晶ディスプ レイ投射システム(10)。 2.フィルムが半結晶性のナフタリンジカルボン酸ポリエステルと他のポリマー との複数の交互積層を備える請求項1記載のシステム。 3.光源と反射プリ偏光子との間に設けた4分の1波長板(28)と、パネルの 反対側の光源側に設けた反射器(18)とをさらに備える請求項1記載のシステ ム。 4.液晶ディスプレイとダイクロイック偏光子とを光源の反対側の液晶ディスプ レイ側に設けた反射偏光子を備え、該反射プリ偏光子が隣接材料層の複層の積層 対(44)を備えた複層の光学フィルム(36)を備え、層対のそれぞれが反射 プリ偏光子面の第1方向の隣接層(41,43)間で屈折率差を示し、反射プリ 偏光子面の第2方向と第1方向の直角方向の隣接層間で本質的に屈折率差を示さ ない、反射プリ偏光子(26)とをさらに備える請求項1記載のシステム。 5.投射パネル(52)と、光源(56)とを備え、 投射パネル(52)は、液晶ディスプレイ(60)と、前記ディスプレイの一 方の側に設けた第1の偏光子(64)と、第2の偏光子(62)とを備え、 第2の偏光子(62)が反射偏光子であり、前記ディスプレイの他方の側に設 け、該第2の偏光子が、複層の光学フィルム(36)を備え、前記フィルムが隣 接材料層の複層の積層対(44)を備え、層対のそれぞれが反射偏光子面の第1 方向の隣接層(41,43)間で屈折率差を示し、反射偏光子面の第2方向と第 1方向の直角方向の隣接層間で本質的に屈折率差を示さず、 光源(56)が第2の偏光子に光を向けるためのものである、液晶ディスプレ イ投射システム(50)。 6.第3の偏光子をさらに備え、該第3の偏光子が反射偏光子であり、第1の偏 光子と液晶ディスプレイとの間に設け、該第3の偏光子が、複層の光学フィルム (36)を備え、前記フィルムが隣接材料層の複層の積層対(44)を備え、層 対のそれぞれが第3の偏光子面の第1方向の隣接層(41,43)間で屈折率差 を示し、第3の偏光子面の第2方向と第1方向の直角方向の隣接層間で本質的に 屈折率差を示さない請求項5記載のシステム。 7.第1の偏光子が、隣接材料層の複層の積層対(44)を備えた反射偏光子で あり、層対のそれぞれが第1の偏光子面の第1方向の隣接層(41,43)間で 屈折率差を示し、第1の偏光子面の第2方向と第1方向の直角方向の隣接層間で 、本質的に屈折率差を示さない請求項5記載のシステム。 8.4分の1波長板(66)と反射器(58)とをさらに備え、 4分の1波長板(66)は光源と第2の偏光子との間に設け、 反射器(58)はパネルの反対側の光源側に設ける請求項7記載のシステム。 9.液晶ディスプレイ(60)と、第1の偏光子(64)と、第2の偏光子(6 2)と、4分の1波長板(66)とを備え、 第1の偏光子(64)がディスプレイの一方の側に固着し、 第2の偏光子(62)が反射偏光子であり、ディスプレイの他方の側に固着し ており、該第2の偏光子が、隣接材料層の複層の積層対(44)を備えた複層光 学フィルム(36)を備え、層対のそれぞれが反射偏光子面の第1方向の隣接層 (41,43)間で屈折率差を示し、反射偏光子面の第2方向と第1方向の直角 方向の隣接層間で本質的に屈折率差を示さず、 4分の1波長板(66)が前記第2の偏光子に固着した、液晶パネル。 10.投射ランプ(122)と、集光レンズ(124)と、4分の1波長板(1 26)と、反射偏光子(128)とをこの順序で備え、 4分の1波長板(126)が前記集光レンズに固着し、 反射偏光子(128)は、4分の1波長板に固着しており、該反射偏光子が、 隣接材料層の複層の積層対(44)を備えた複層光学フィルム(36)を備え、 層対のそれぞれが反射偏光子面の第1方向の隣接層(41,43)間で屈折率差 を示し、反射偏光子面の第2方向と第1方向の直角方向の隣接層間で、本質的に 屈折率差を示さない、オーバーヘッドプロジェクター(132)。 11.オーバーヘッドプロジェクター(142)と、アダプターパネル(150 )と、液晶ディスプレイ投射パネルとをこの順序で備え、 アダプターパネル(150)は、プロジェクターに設けており、該アダプター パネルが、4分の1波長板(144)と反射偏光子(146)とを備え、前記反 射偏光子が、隣接材料層の複層の積層対(44)を備えた複層光学フィルム(3 6)を備え、層対のそれぞれが反射偏光子面の第1方向の隣接層(41,43) 間で屈折率差を示し、反射偏光子面の第2方向と第1方向の直角方向の隣接層間 で、本質的に屈折率差を示さず、 液晶ディスプレイ投射パネル(148)は、アダプターパネルに設け、該液晶 ディスプレイ投射パネルが、ディスプレイの反対側に液晶ディスプレイと一対の ダイクロイック偏光子とを備える、液晶ディスプレイ投射システム(140)。
