Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.軸の回りを回転するように設けられ、データを記憶するための対向したディ スク表面を有する少なくとも1つのディスクと、 データ信号をそれぞれのディスク表面に書き込むために及びそれぞれのディス ク表面から読み取るためにそれぞれのディスク表面を横切って移動するように設 けられた、書込素子及び読取素子を含む磁気抵抗(MR)変換器手段と、 前記MR変換器手段と関連して読取信号及び書込信号を増幅するための前置増 幅器手段と、 前記前置増幅器手段及び前記MR変換器手段の間で前記読取信号及び書込信号 を結合するための可撓ケーブル手段と、 を含み、 前記可撓ケーブル手段は前記MR変換器手段の各連続したペアに対する共通読 取リターン信号線を含むことを特徴とする直接アクセス記憶装置。 2.前記可撓ケーブル手段は前記連続したペアの前記MR変換器手段の各々に対 して各書込素子に連結された2つの書込信号線及び1つの読取信号線を含み、更 に前記共通読取リターン信号線を含むことを特徴とする請求の範囲第1項に記載 の直接アクセス記憶装置。 3.前記共通読取リターン信号線は前記連続したペアの前記MR変換器手段の各 々に対して前記読取信号線の間に配置さ れることを特徴とする請求の範囲第2項に記載の直接アクセス記憶装置。 4.前記信号線は前記可撓ケーブル手段に沿って実質的に並行に延びることを特 徴とする請求の範囲第2項に記載の直接アクセス記憶装置。 5.前記前置増幅器手段はシングル・エンド前記増幅器であり、前記共通読取リ ターン信号線は基準電位にあることを特徴とする請求の範囲第1項乃至第4項の 1つに記載の直接アクセス記憶装置。 6.N個の連続したMR変換手段を含み、Nが偶数の場合は前記可撓ケーブル手 段はN/2個の共通読取リターン線を含み、Nが奇数の場合は前記可撓ケーブル 手段は(N−1)/2個の共通読取リターン線を含むことを特徴とする請求の範 囲第1項乃至第5項の1つに記載の直接アクセス記憶装置。 7.前記可撓ケーブル手段は更に第2の読取信号線を含み、前記共通読取リター ン信号線は前記読取信号線のペアの間で前記読取信号線とほぼ並行して延びるこ とを特徴とする請求の範囲第2項に記載の直接アクセス記憶装置。 8.前記共通読取リターン信号線は基準電位に接続されることを特徴とする請求 の範囲第7項に記載の直接アクセス記憶装置。 9.前記可撓ケーブル手段は前記共通読取リターン信号線の合計数に比例した幅 の減少を有することを特徴とする請求の範囲第7項に記載の直接アクセス記憶装 置。 10.前記可撓ケーブル手段は前記共通読取リターン信号線の合計数に比例した 幅の増加を有し、前記前置増幅器手段は前記共通読取リターン信号線の合計数に 比例した入出力(I/O)の減少を有することを特徴とする請求の範囲第7項に 記載の直接アクセス記憶装置。
