(57)【要約】 【課題】デジタルスチルカメラとパーソナルコンピュー
タとを簡単に接続してデータの送受を行なう。 【解決手段】フロッピーディスクと同一形状を有し、そ
のヘッドウィンドウ部にフロッピーディスク装置(11)の
磁気ヘッドと当接されてデータの送受を行なう磁気イン
ターフェイスを形成したケーシング部3aと、フロッピー
ディスク装置(11)への装着により該フロッピーディスク
装置のフロッピーディスク挿入口11ａから導出してデジ
タルスチルカメラ2 と接続されるケーブル部3b及びコネ
クタ部3c斗を備え、ケーシング部3a内でフロッピーディ
スク装置(11)とデジタルスチルカメラ2 との間のデータ
変換を行なう。

Description

【発明の詳細な説明】
【０００１】
【発明の属する技術分野】本発明は、例えばデジタルス
チルカメラで撮影した画像データを簡易にデスクトップ
タイプのパーソナルコンピュータに取込むためのインタ
ーフェイス装置に関する。
【０００２】
【従来の技術】近時、手軽に静止画像を撮影し、得た静
止画の画像データをテレビ受信機に表示させ、あるいは
パーソナルコンピュータに取込んで使用するデジタルス
チルカメラが広く一般に普及している。
【０００３】この種のデジタルスチルカメラにあって
は、撮影により得た画像データを例えば本体内のメモリ
あるいは装着している小型のフロッピーディスク等の記
憶媒体に記憶するようになっており、再生時にはこの記
憶媒体から読出した画像データを外部出力端子に接続さ
れたケーブルを介して上記テレビ受信機やパーソナルコ
ンピュータ等に送出するようになっている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】しかしながら、特にデ
スクトップタイプのパーソナルコンピュータにあって
は、周辺機器との接続用のコネクタが本体の背面に装備
されているものが多く、このようなパーソナルコンピュ
ータとデジタルスチルカメラとを接続するのに煩雑な手
間を必要とするという不具合があった。
【０００５】また、上記デジタルスチルカメラの中に
は、ＩｒＤＡ（Ｉｎｆｒａｒｅｄ Ｄａｔａ Ａｓｓｏ
ｃｉａｔｉｏｎ）規格による赤外線ポートを備え、画像
データを赤外線信号として出力できるようにした機種も
多く存在するが、反面、上記デスクトップタイプのパー
ソナルコンピュータでＩｒＤＡ規格の赤外線ポートを備
えたものはほとんどなく、赤外線通信機能を用いて上記
のような不具合を解消することはできなかった。
【０００６】本発明は上記のような実情に鑑みてなされ
たもので、その目的とするところは、デジタルスチルカ
メラ等の携帯機器と特にデスクトップタイプのパーソナ
ルコンピュータ等とを簡単に接続してデータの送受を行
なうことが可能なインターフェイス装置を提供すること
にある。
【０００７】
【課題を解決するための手段】請求項１記載の発明は、
フロッピーディスクとほぼ同一形状のケーシングと、上
記ケーシングのヘッドウィンドウ部に設けられ、フロッ
ピーディスク装置の磁気ヘッドと当接されてデータの送
受を行なう磁気インターフェイスと、上記フロッピーデ
ィスク装置への装着により該フロッピーディスク装置の
フロッピーディスク挿入口から導出して外部機器と接続
される接続機構と、この接続機構により接続される外部
機器と上記磁気インターフェイスとの間のデータ変換を
行なう変換手段とを具備したことを特徴とする。
【０００８】このような構成とすれば、デスクトップタ
イプのパーソナルコンピュータであればほとんどの機種
が備えているフロッピーディスク装置を用いてデジタル
スチルカメラ等の携帯機器を容易に接続してデータの送
受を行なうことができる。
【０００９】請求項２記載の発明は、上記請求項１記載
の発明において、上記接続機構は先端にコネクタを形成
したケーブルでなることを特徴とする。このような構成
とすれば、上記請求項１記載の発明の作用に加えて、外
部機器を容易にケーブル接続することができる。
【００１０】請求項３記載の発明は、上記請求項１記載
の発明において、上記接続機構はフロッピーディスク装
置のフロッピーディスク挿入口から突出する赤外線ポー
トからなり、この赤外線ポートと上記外部機器との間で
赤外線通信による無線接続を行なうことを特徴とする。
【００１１】このような構成とすれば、上記請求項１記
載の発明の作用に加えて、一般に赤外線通信機能を有し
ていないデスクトップタイプのパーソナルコンピュータ
等であっても、特に赤外線通信機能を有している携帯機
器を非接触で接続することができる。
【００１２】請求項４記載の発明は、上記請求項１記載
の発明において、上記ケーシングの金属ハブ部に設けら
れ、上記フロッピーディスク装置のスピンドルモータの
回転により発電する発電機構と、この発電機構で得た電
力を安定化する安定化回路とを具備したことを特徴とす
る。
【００１３】このような構成とすれば、上記請求項１記
載の発明の作用に加えて、フロッピーディスク装置のス
ピンドルモータの回転を利用して発電を行ない、このイ
ンターフェイス装置及び上記外部機器を有線接続してい
る場合はその外部機器も含めて電力供給することができ
る。

【発明の実施の形態】以下本発明の実施の一形態につい
て図面を参照して説明する。図１にその機器構成を示
す。同図に示すように、１はパーソナルコンピュータ本
体１ａ、モニタディスプレイ１ｂとキーボード及びマウ
ス１ｃとからなるパーソナルコンピュータ、２はデジタ
ルスチルカメラであり、これらパーソナルコンピュータ
１とデジタルスチルカメラ２とを接続するものとして、
本発明の実施の一形態に係るインターフェイス装置３が
用いられる。
【００１５】このインターフェイス装置３は、３．５イ
ンチフロッピーディスクと同一形状のケーシング部３ａ
と、このケーシング部３ａのシャッタを形成した一端側
とは反対のラベルエリアにある他端側より導出されたケ
ーブル部３ｂ、及びこのケーブル部３ｂの先端にに配設
されたコネクタ部３ｃよりなる。
【００１６】しかして、上記インターフェイス装置３の
ケーシング部３ａを上記パーソナルコンピュータ１のパ
ーソナルコンピュータ本体１ａにあるフロッピーディス
ク装置１１（図示せず）の挿入口１１ａに図中に矢印Ａ
で示すように挿入する一方、上記コネクタ部３ｃをデジ
タルスチルカメラ２の図示しない画像出力端子と接続
し、パーソナルコンピュータ１にて所定の画像取込用の
ソフトウェアを起動することで、デジタルスチルカメラ
２で撮影して記憶されている静止画の画像データをこの
インターフェイス装置３を介してパーソナルコンピュー
タ１に取込むことができるようになるものである。
【００１７】図２は上記インターフェイス装置３の機能
回路構成を示すものであり、上記ケーシング部３ａ内に
は磁気インターフェイス３１、変換コントローラ３２、
及びマイクロコントローラ３３が設けられる。
【００１８】磁気インターフェイス３１は、後述するよ
うにケーシング部３ａの通常はシャッタで遮蔽されてい
るヘッドウィンドウに設けられ、ケーシング部３ａをフ
ロッピーディスク装置１１に装着することで該フロッピ
ーディスク装置１１の磁気ヘッドと当接されてデータの
送受を行なうもので、変換コントローラ３２は上記磁気
インターフェイス３１でのデータの送受を制御すべく、
フロッピーディスクのインターフェイス規格に則ったデ
ータ変換を行なうものであり、マイクロコントローラ３
３は予め設定された動作プログラムに基づいてこの変換
コントローラ３２での変換処理の動作制御を行ない、フ
ロッピーディスクのインターフェイス規格及びデジタル
カメラのインターフェイス規格に則った変換を実行す
る。
【００１９】図３は主として上記ケーシング部３ａ内の
実装構成をパーソナルコンピュータ１のパーソナルコン
ピュータ本体１ａにあるフロッピーディスク装置１１と
併せて示すもので、ここではケーシング部３ａをフロッ
ピーディスク装置１１の挿入口１１ａより図中に矢印Ｂ
で示すように挿入した状態を示す。この挿入動作により
ケーシング部３ａに備えられたシャッタが開けられ、上
記ヘッドウィンドウの遮蔽が解除される。
【００２０】この後、図中に矢印Ｃで示すようにケーシ
ング部３ａが下降し、ケーシング部３ａ下面中央のメタ
ルハブ３４がフロッピーディスク装置１１のディスク吸
着マグネットを備えたチャッキングテーブル１１ｂにセ
ットされることでローディングが完了し、上記磁気イン
ターフェイス３１がフロッピーディスク装置１１側のの
磁気ヘッド１１ｃと当接されるようになるもので、磁気
インターフェイス３１は磁気ヘッド１１ｃと同様に磁性
材料にコイルを巻回したもので構成されるものとする。
【００２１】ここでは、上記メタルハブ３４に直結して
発電機３５を設けるものとし、スピンドルモータ１１ｄ
の回転がチャッキングテーブル１１ｂ及びメタルハブ３
４を介して発電機３５に伝達される。この発電機３５で
の発電により得た交流電流を安定化電源回路３６にて直
流電流に整流すると共に、その電圧値を定格化すること
で上記変換コントローラ３２及びマイクロコントローラ
３３に動作電源とする。
【００２２】また、この安定化電源回路３６で得た電源
は、さらに上記ケーブル部３ｂ、ケーシング部３ａを介
してデジタルスチルカメラ２にも供給することで、この
インターフェイス装置３に接続している状態でのデジタ
ルスチルカメラ２の内蔵電池が消耗してしまうのを回避
することが可能となる。
【００２３】図４は上記インターフェイス装置３の主と
してケーシング部３ａからケーブル部３ｂに至る範囲の
具体構成を例示するものである。すなわち、ここでは上
記図３中に矢印Ｃで示した、ローディングでの下降量が
大きいフロッピーディスク装置１１にも対処するべく、
ケーシング部３ａのケーブル部３ｂとの接続部分に切欠
き部３ａ１を設け、この切欠き部３ａ１から柔軟なフラ
ットケーブル３ｂ１を導出する。そして、このフラット
ケーブル３ｂ１をケーブル変換部３ｂ２を介して丸型の
ケーブル３ｂ３に接続し、丸型のケーブル３ｂ３の先端
にデジタルスチルカメラ２と接続するためのコネクタ部
３ｃを設けるようにしている。
【００２４】ケーシング部３ａに切欠き部３ａ１を設け
てフラットケーブル３ｂ１を導出する構造としたため、
デスクトップタイプのパーソナルコンピュータ１で使用
されることが多い、ローディング量の大きいフロッピー
ディスク装置１１にケーシング部３ａを装着した場合で
も、フラットケーブル３ｂ１の柔軟性により無理なくフ
ロッピーディスク装置１１の外部に引出されることとな
り、ケーシング部３ａ及びケーブル部３ｂに余分なスト
レスがかかることがない。
【００２５】ここで、一般のデジタルスチルカメラでは
フラットケーブル用のコネクタはその形状が不都合であ
まり用いられておらず、多くのデジタルスチルカメラで
は丸型あるいは角型のコネクタが使用されているため、
上記ケーブル変換部３ｂ２によりフラットケーブル３ｂ
１を丸型のケーブル３ｂ３に変換してコネクタ部３ｃと
接続するようにしている。
【００２６】上記のような構成にあって、まずパーソナ
ルコンピュータ１からデジタルスチルカメラ２に対して
画像データを伝送する場合の動作について説明する。パ
ーソナルコンピュータ１のフロッピーディスク装置１１
にインターフェイス装置３のケーシング部３ａが装着さ
れた状態で、磁気ヘッド１１ｃに対して磁気インターフ
ェイス３１が当接されており、磁気ヘッド１１ｃからの
磁気パルスは磁気インターフェイス３１で受取られて、
電気信号のパルスに変換される。変換コントローラ３２
はこの電気信号のパルス列をマイクロコントローラ３３
からの制御に基づいてフレーミング、ＣＲＣチェックな
どの処理を行なって例えば８ビット毎のデータブロック
に再構成してマイクロコントローラ３３へ送出する。
【００２７】マイクロコントローラ３３は、この変換コ
ントローラ３２からのデータ内容を解釈して画像データ
の必要部分を切出し、予め設定されているデジタルカメ
ラの通信手順に基づいて画像データをケーブル部３ｂ及
びコネクタ部３ｃを介してデジタルスチルカメラ２へ送
信するようになるものである。
【００２８】また、デジタルスチルカメラ２で撮影した
静止画の画像データをインターフェイス装置３を介して
パーソナルコンピュータ１へ伝送する場合には、デジタ
ルスチルカメラ２からの画像データをマイクロコントロ
ーラ３３が予め設定されている通信手順に従って受取
り、フロッピーディスクのインターフェイス規格に合致
するようにブロック化してから変換コントローラ３２へ
送出する。変換コントローラ３２は、マイクロコントロ
ーラ３３からのデータを電気信号のパルス列に変換して
磁気インターフェイス３１へ送出し、フロッピーディス
ク装置１１側の磁気ヘッド１１ｃで磁気パルスを生起さ
せることで、画像データを送信するものである。
【００２９】また、上記インターフェイス装置３は、ケ
ーブル部３ｂ及びコネクタ部３ｃを用いた有線接続によ
りパーソナルコンピュータ１とデジタルスチルカメラ２
とを接続するようにしたが、多くのデジタルスチルカメ
ラ２はＩｒＤＡ規格による赤外線ポートを備えているの
で、画像データを赤外線信号として送受するものとして
もよい。
【００３０】図５はこのような本発明の実施の一形態に
係る他の構成例を示すものである。同図で、インターフ
ェイス装置３′はケーシング部３ａとこのケーシング部
３ａのシャッタ３ｄとは反対側のラベルエリアにある手
指で把持する端辺の中央に突出するようにして赤外線ポ
ート３ｅを設ける。この赤外線ポート３ｅは、突出した
端面に送受光窓３ｅ１を備えると共に、２箇所のヒンジ
部３ｅ２，３ｅ３を備えており、ローディングでの下降
量が大きいフロッピーディスク装置でも確実に送受光窓
３ｅ１が装置外部に突出するようにしている。
【００３１】図６は上記インターフェイス装置３′のケ
ーシング部３ａ及び赤外線ポート３ｅ内の実装構成をパ
ーソナルコンピュータ１のパーソナルコンピュータ本体
１ａにあるフロッピーディスク装置１１と併せて示すも
ので、ここではケーシング部３ａを完全にローディング
し終えた状態を示す。
【００３２】赤外線ポート３ｅは、２つのヒンジ部３ｅ
２，３ｅ３により送受光窓３ｅ１がフロッピーディスク
装置１１の挿入口１１ａより外部に突出しており、ロー
ディングでの下降量が大きいフロッピーディスク装置１
１であっても、相対向するここでは図示しないデジタル
スチルカメラ２と赤外線通信機能による無線通信接続が
確実に可能となるものである。
【００３３】なお、この図６では上記図３に示した発電
機３５に代えて、電源としての電池３７を内蔵するもの
とする。このような構成とすることで、一般に赤外線通
信機能を有していないデスクトップタイプのパーソナル
コンピュータ１であっても、赤外線通信機能を有してい
るデジタルスチルカメラ２との接続をより容易に行なう
ことができ、手間を要さず手軽に画像データの送受を実
行することができる。
【００３４】なお、上記実施の形態にあってはデスクト
ップタイプのパーソナルコンピュータ１とデジタルスチ
ルカメラ２とを接続する場合についてのみ説明したが、
本発明はこれに限らず、その要旨を逸脱しない範囲内で
種々変形して実施することが可能であるものとする。

【発明の効果】請求項１記載の発明によれば、デスクト
ップタイプのパーソナルコンピュータであればほとんど
の機種が備えているフロッピーディスク装置を用いてデ
ジタルスチルカメラ等の携帯機器を容易に接続してデー
タの送受を行なうことができる。
【００３６】請求項２記載の発明によれば、上記請求項
１記載の発明の効果に加えて、外部機器を容易にケーブ
ル接続することができる。請求項３記載の発明によれ
ば、上記請求項１記載の発明の効果に加えて、一般に赤
外線通信機能を有していないデスクトップタイプのパー
ソナルコンピュータ等であっても、特に赤外線通信機能
を有している携帯機器を非接触で接続することができ
る。
【００３７】請求項４記載の発明によれば、上記請求項
１記載の発明の効果に加えて、フロッピーディスク装置
のスピンドルモータの回転を利用して発電を行ない、こ
のインターフェイス装置及び上記外部機器を有線接続し
ている場合はその外部機器も含めて電力供給することが
できる。

Claims (4)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項１】 フロッピーディスクとほぼ同一形状のケ
    ーシングと、 上記ケーシングのヘッドウィンドウ部に設けられ、フロ
    ッピーディスク装置の磁気ヘッドと当接されてデータの
    送受を行なう磁気インターフェイスと、 上記フロッピーディスク装置への装着により該フロッピ
    ーディスク装置のフロッピーディスク挿入口から導出し
    て外部機器と接続される接続機構と、 この接続機構により接続される外部機器と上記磁気イン
    ターフェイスとの間のデータ変換を行なう変換手段とを
    具備したことを特徴とするインターフェイス装置。
  2. 【請求項２】 上記接続機構は先端にコネクタを形成し
    たケーブルでなることを特徴とする請求項１記載のイン
    ターフェイス装置。
  3. 【請求項３】 上記接続機構はフロッピーディスク装置
    のフロッピーディスク挿入口から突出する赤外線ポート
    からなり、この赤外線ポートと上記外部機器との間で赤
    外線通信による無線接続を行なうことを特徴とする請求
    項１記載のインターフェイス装置。
  4. 【請求項４】 上記ケーシングの金属ハブ部に設けら
    れ、上記フロッピーディスク装置のスピンドルモータの
    回転により発電する発電機構と、 この発電機構で得た電力を安定化する安定化回路とを具
    備したことを特徴とする請求項１記載のインターフェイ
    ス装置。
