【発明の詳細な説明】
【0001】
【発明の属する技術分野】本発明は、配管の施工現場で
合成樹脂管同志を簡単かつ確実に接続できるやりとり継
手に関する。
【0002】
【従来の技術】従来からポリエチレン等の合成樹脂管を
接続する場合、図3に示した様な電気融着継手が使用さ
れている。この電気融着継手はポリエチレン等からなる
継手本体5の両端に電熱線6を埋設した受口を設けたも
のであって、現場での配管施工の際にはそれぞれの受口
に被接続管P1 ,P2 の端部を挿入してから電熱線6を
発熱させて融着接合していた。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】ところが、この従来継
手は寸法調整が行なえる機能を有していないため、両端
から順次接続してきた配管の端部同志を接続する場合に
は、やりとり接続が行えないという問題があった。即
ち、図3に示した如く、両端から順次接続してきた被接
続管P1 ,P2 の端部の間隔が一定している場合には、
管端部同志を突き合わせ接続することができなかった。
【0004】本発明はかかる課題を解決したものであっ
て、現場での配管施工の際に寸法調整が行なえ、配管同
志のやりとり接続が簡単かつ確実に行なえる継手を提供
するものである。

【課題を解決するための手段】本発明のやりとり継手
は、継手本体の両端に互いに逆向きの雌ねじを設けると
共に、各雌ねじより開口端側の内周面にシールリングを
装着し、前記各雌ねじに継手部材の一端に設けた雄ねじ
を螺合させると共に、それぞれの雄ねじの後方継手部の
外周面に前記シールリングを水密的に圧接させ、また継
手部材の他端に被接続管の端部が嵌挿される受口を設け
て各受口の内周面に電熱線を螺旋状に埋設したことを特
徴とする。

【発明の実施の形態】以下、本発明の実施の形態を図面
にて詳細に説明する。図1は本発明のやりとり継手を用
いて被接続管同志を突き合わせ接続する前の状態を示す
断面図、図2は被接続管同志を突き合わせ接続したあと
の状態を示す断面図であって、図中の符号Aはやりとり
継手、P1 ,P2 は被接続管である。
【0007】本発明のやりとり継手Aは、継手本体1と
一対の継手部材3a,3bからなるものであって、円筒
状をなす継手本体1の内周中央部にはストッパー段部1
1が設けられており、該ストッパー段部11の両側内周
には互いに逆向きの雌ねじ1a、1bが設けられてい
る。そして、各雌ねじ1a、1bより開口端側の内周面
に環状溝12が設けられており、それぞれの環状溝12
にシールリング2が装着されている。
【0008】一方、継手部材3a,3bは被接続管P1
,P2 と同種の合成樹脂、例えばポリエチレン、ポリ
ブテン等の合成樹脂で形成されており、各継手部材3
a,3bの一端に設けた雄ねじ31a,31bが前記継
手本体1の雌ねじ1a,1bと螺合している。即ち、継
手本体1の両端部には逆方向の雌ねじ1a,1bが設け
られているため、継手本体1を回転させるだけで双方の
継手部材3a,3bの突出量を調整できるようになって
いる。そして、前記雄ねじ31a,31bの後方継手部
の外周面にシールリング2,2が圧接して水密的が確保
されるようになっている。
【0009】また、継手部材3a,3bの他端には被接
続管P1 ,P2 の端部が挿入される受口32a,32b
が設けられており、各受口32a,32bの内周面に電
熱線4が螺旋状に埋設されている。電熱線4の両端部は
受口32a,32bの外周面から突出した端子ピン41
と接続しており、電源と接続したプラグ(図示せず)を
接続することによって、電熱線4に通電できるようにな
っている。
【0010】なお、前記継手本体1の雌ねじ1a,1b
の長さL1 は各継手部材3a,3bの雄ねじ31a,3
1bの長さL2 の2倍よりも若干大きく、各継手部材3
a,3bの雄ねじ31a,31bの長さL2 は受口32
a,32bの長さL3 とほぼ等しくなるように設定され
ている。
【0011】本発明のやりとり継手Aは前述した構成か
らなるものであって、次にこのやりとり継手Aを用いた
配管の接続手順を説明する。まず、図1に示した如く、
継手本体1の雌ねじ1a,1bに各継手部材3a,3b
の雄ねじ31a,31bを螺合し、最奥部まで螺挿して
おく。そこで、このやりとり継手Aを被接続管P1 ,P
2 の端部間にセットし、それぞれの管端部を継手部材3
a,3bの受口32a,32bに嵌挿する。このとき、
継手本体1を回転させて各継手部材3a,3bを突出さ
せ、図2に示した如く受口32a,32bの奥部まで被
接続管P1 ,P2 の端部を嵌挿する。
【0012】そこで、継手部材3a,3bの受口32
a,32bに埋設された電熱線4に通電して発熱させ
る。すると、受口32a,32bの内周面と被接続管P
1 ,P2の端部外周面とが同時に溶融して融着接合す
る。

【発明の効果】以上詳述した如く、本発明のやりとり継
手は、継手本体の両端に互いに逆向きの雌ねじを設ける
と共に、それぞれの雌ねじに継手部材の一端に設けた雄
ねじを螺合したので、継手部材を回転させなくても継手
本体を回転させるだけで、長さ調整が行える。また、各
継手部材の他端には被接続管の端部が嵌挿される受口を
設け、それぞれの受口内周面に電熱線を螺旋状に埋設し
たので、電熱線に通電して発熱させるだで被接続管との
融着接合が行える。従って、本発明のやりとり継手を用
いると、現場での接続作業が簡単かつ確実に行なえる。

ある。

Claims (1)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項1】 継手本体(1)の両端に互いに逆向きの
    雌ねじ(1a),(1b)を設けると共に、各雌ねじ
    (1a),(1b)より開口端側の内周面にシールリン
    グ(2)を装着し、前記各雌ねじ(1a)、(1b)に
    継手部材(3a),(3b)の一端に設けた雄ねじ(3
    1a),(31b)を螺合すると共に、それぞれの雄ね
    じ(31a),(31b)の後方継手部の外周面に前記
    シールリング(2)を水密的に圧接させ、また継手部材
    (3a),(3b)の他端に被接続管(P1 ),(P2
    )の端部が嵌挿される受口(32a),(32b)を
    設けて各受口(32a),(32b)の内周面に電熱線
    (4)を螺旋状に埋設したことを特徴とするやりとり継
    手。
