Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.患者の動脈への動脈介入の後の再狭窄を低減するために患者の動脈内におけ る案内ワイヤによって案内された装置であって、 その先端内に収納された放射源を有する放射線投与配送ワイヤと、 その先端で密閉されたブラインドルーメンと、前記案内ワイヤを受けるべく延 在する案内ワイヤルーメンとを有するバルーンカテーテルと、 を具備し、前記ブラインドルーメンは前記放射線投与配送ワイヤをその基端内 へと受けるのに適していることを特徴とする装置。 2.前記放射線投与配送ワイヤと前記ブラインドルーメンの基端との間に液体密 封を提供する手段をさらに具備することを特徴とする請求の範囲第1項に記載の 装置。 3.前記液体密封を提供する手段は、前記ブラインドルーメンの基端に接続され た液体密封放射線配送ワイヤポートを具備し、これによって、前記ブラインドル ーメンと前記放射線投与配送ワイヤとの間に液体密封が提供されることを特徴と する請求の範囲第2項に記載の装置。 4.前記放射源はIr192のペレットであることを特徴とする請求の範囲第1項 に記載の装置。 5.前記放射源はI125のペレットであることを特徴とする請求の範囲第1項に 記載の装置。 6.前記放射源はPd103のペレットであることを特徴とする請求の範囲第1項 に記載の装置。 7.前記放射源は線形アレイを形成する複数の放射性ペレットを具備することを 特徴とする請求の範囲第1項に記載の装置。 8.前記線形アレイは0.5cmと5cmの間の長さを有することを特徴とする 請求の範囲第7項に記載の装置。 9.前記放射線投与配送ワイヤの先端を、所定の時間の間、前記ブラインドルー メン内の所定の位置に移動する手段を具備することを特徴とする請求の範囲第1 項に記載の装置。 10.前記移動する手段はコンピュータ制御されたアーフタローダであることを 特徴とする請求の範囲第9項に記載の装置。 11.前記コンピュータ制御されたアーフタローダは前記所定の位置と前記所定 の時間を計算することを特徴とする請求の範囲第10項に記載の装置。 12.前記コンピュータ制御されたアーフタローダは、前記放射源の半寿命と、 前記放射源の活動レベルと、前記動脈の直径と、所定の位置における動脈へ配送 されるべき所望の放射線投与量とを含む複数の入力変数に基づいて、前記所定の 位置と前記所定の時間とを計算することを特徴とする請求の範囲第11項に記載 の装置。 13.ユーザは、各々が複数の入力変数の各々の1つを表す複数の値を前記コン ピュータ制御されたアーフタローダに入力することを特徴とする請求の範囲第1 2項に記載の装置。 14.前記コンピュータ制御されたアーフタローダは、所定の時間の間、所定の 位置の領域内で、前記放射線投与配送ワイヤを前後に振動することを特徴とする 請求の範囲第13項に記載の装置。 15.前記案内ワイヤの外径と前記放射線投与配送ワイヤの外径とは実質的に0 .014インチに等しいことを特徴とする請求の範囲第1項に記載の装置。 16.前記放射源は約10キュリー以下の放射能を有することを特徴とする請求 項第1項に記載の装置。 17.患者の動脈内の放射源と前記装置のユーザとの間で移動可能な放射線遮蔽 シールドを具備することを特徴とする請求の範囲第1項に記載の装置。 18.前記放射線遮蔽シールドはコンクリートであることを特徴とする請求の範 囲第17項に記載の装置。 19.前記放射線遮蔽シールドは鉛であることを特徴とする請求の範囲第17項 に記載の装置。 20.患者の動脈への動脈介入の後の再狭窄を低減するために、患者の動脈内の シースに挿入され、前記患者の動脈内の案内ワイヤによって案内された装置であ って、 その先端内に収納された放射源を有する放射線投与配送ワイヤと、 その先端で密閉されたブラインドルーメンと、前記案内ワイヤを受けるべく延 在する案内ワイヤルーメンとを有するバルーンカテーテルと、 を具備し、前記ブラインドルーメンは前記放射線投与配送ワイヤをその基端内 へと受けるのに適しており、 前記バルーンカテーテルは前記シースに挿入するのに適していることを特徴と する装置。 21.前記放射線投与配送ワイヤと前記ブラインドルーメンとの間に液体密封を 提供するための手段をさらに具備することを特徴とする請求の範囲第20項に記 載の装置。 22.前記シースの基端と前記ブラインドルーメンの基端との間における延在同 軸関係を維持するための手段をさらに具備することを特徴とする請求の範囲第2 1項に記載の装置。 23.患者の動脈への動脈介入の後の再狭窄を低減するために、患者の動脈内に おける案内ワイヤによって案内された装置であって、 その先端内に収納された放射源を有する放射線投与配送ワイヤと、 その先端で密閉されたブラインドルーメンと、前記バルーンカテーテルを介し て部分的に延在する案内ワイヤルーメンとを有するバルーンカテーテルと、 前記放射線投与配送ワイヤをその先端内へと受けるのに適しており、 前記案内ワイヤルーメンは、前記バルーンカテーテルの先端に配置された入力 ポートと、前記バルーンカテーテルの周囲面上に配置された出力ポートとを有す ることを特徴とする装置。 24.患者の動脈への動脈介入の後の再狭窄を低減するための装置であって、 前記動脈の少なくともターゲット領域までの患者の動脈へ挿入するための案内 ワイヤと、 その先端内に収納された放射源を有する放射線投与配送ワイヤと、 その先端で密閉されたブラインドルーメンと、前記案内ワイヤを受けるべく延 在する案内ワイヤルーメンとを有するバルーンカテーテルと、 を具備し、前記ブラインドルーメンは、前記放射線配送ワイヤをその基端へと受 けるのに適していることを特徴とする装置。 25.患者の動脈への動脈介入の後の再狭窄を低減するために、患者の動脈内に おける案内ワイヤによって案内された装置であって、 その先端内に収納された放射源を有する放射線投与配送ワイヤと、 その先端で密閉されたブラインドルーメンと、前記案内ワイヤを受けるべく延 在する案内ワイヤルーメンとを有するカテーテルと、 を具備し、前記ブラインドルーメンは前記放射線投与配送ワイヤをその基端内 へと受けるのに適していることを特徴とする装置。 26.前記放射線投与配送ワイヤと前記ブラインドルーメンとの間に液体密封を 提供するための手段をさらに具備することを特徴とする請求の範囲第25項に記 載の装置。 27.患者の動脈への動脈介入の後の再狭窄を低減するために、カテーテル内へ 挿入される装置であって、 その先端に収納された放射源を有する放射線投与配送ワイヤと、 その基端で解放しかつその先端で密閉されているブラインドルーメンと、 を具備し、前記放射線投与配送ワイヤをその基端内へと受けて前記カテーテル内 に挿入するのに適していることを特徴とする装置。 28.前記放射線投与配送ワイヤと前記ブラインドルーメンの基端との間に液体 密封を提供するための手段をさらに具備することを特徴とする請求項第27項に 記載の装置。 29.患者の動脈への動脈介入の後の再狭窄を低減する方法であって、 前記案内ワイヤの先端が前記動脈の少なくとも所定の部分まで前記動脈内に配 置されるまで、案内ワイヤを患者の動脈内に挿入する工程と、 前記案内ワイヤを、ブラインドルーメンを有するバルーンカテーテルの案内ワ イヤルーメン内に挿入する工程と、 前記動脈の少なくとも所定の部分まで前記ブラインドルーメンを有する前記バ ルーンカテーテルを前記患者の動脈内に挿入する工程と、 放射線投与配送ワイヤを前記バルーンカテーテルにおける前記ブラインドルー メン内へと挿入する工程と、 所定の時間の間、前記放射線投与配送ワイヤを所定の距離だけ前記バルーンカ テーテルのブラインドルーメン内へと移動する工程と、 前記所定の時間の後で、前記放射線投与配送ワイヤを前記バルーンカテーテル の前記ブラインドルーメンから除去する工程と、 を具備することを特徴とする方法。 30.所定の時間の間、前記放射線投与配送ワイヤを所定の距離だけ前記バルー ンカテーテルの前記ブラインドルーメンへと移動する工程により、前記放射線投 与配送ワイヤの先端が動脈の前記所定の部分に近接することを特徴とする請求の 範囲第29項に記載の方法。 31.所定の時間の間、前記放射線投与配送ワイヤを所定の距離だけ前記バルー ンカテーテルの前記ブラインドルーメン内に移動する前記工程は、動脈の所定の 部分がどこかを決定し、動脈の前記所定の部分の直径を決定し、動脈の所定の部 分に配送される所望の放射線投与量を決定する工程をさらに具備することを特徴 とする請求の範囲第30項に記載の方法。 32.所定の時間の間、前記放射線投与配送ワイヤを所定の距離だけ前記バルー ンカテーテルの前記ブラインドルーメン内に移動する前記工程は、放射線投与配 送ワイヤの前記先端が実質的に近接したとき、前記放射線投与配送ワイヤを前後 に振動する工程を具備することを特徴とする請求項31記載の方法。
