Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the functions of a fender by fixedly mounting the surrounding area of a reinforcing canvas-incorporated rubber sheet worked in the shape of a bowl with a board and thereby forming an air chamber and supporting both sides of the board on a pair of rails provided on a quay so that it may move vertically in a free manner. SOLUTION: An air type fender whose air compartment is set with a proper pressure, provides an extremely large buoyancy. When both side areas of a board 5 are supported on a guide rail 2 and set up on a quay due to this extremely large buoyancy, the fender floats on the surface of the sea, depending on the high and low tides so that a ship may come constantly alongside the quay at the optimum position. Then, both sides of the board 5 are supported on the solid rail 2 while a stopper is provided on both upper and lower ends of the rail 2, which protects the fender from coming off from the rail 2 even when the fender is subjected to strong waves. This construction makes it possible to use without pulling up the fender on shore in a stormy weather as usually and enhance the performance and allow a ship to come alongside the quay constantly at the optimum position and further save the raw material compared with a solid type.

2. Description of the Related Art Conventional types of rubber fenders for quay walls are roughly classified into buckling type solid type and pneumatic type, and fixed type and floating type. In the case of the fixed type, in order to cope with the tidal difference of the tide, a vertically long fender was used or it was attached in two stages. Also, in the case of the pneumatic floating type, it took a lot of time to maintain it by pulling it up to the land each time in order to avoid waves in stormy weather.

The fender according to the present invention utilizes the buoyancy of the pneumatic fender itself by aeroelasticity, which has excellent performance, while floating in conformity with the ebb and flow of the tide. The objective is to always locate it on the surface of the sea and to attach it structurally to the quay to give a sense of stability, and at the same time to facilitate the desired performance and maintenance as a fender.

[MEANS FOR SOLVING THE PROBLEMS] As shown in FIG. 1, a rubber sheet 3 containing a reinforcing canvas is processed into a bowl shape, and its peripheral flange portion 3a is attached to a substrate 5 made of an iron plate or resin by a mechanical method. A fixed type fender for a quay with a structure in which an air chamber 4 is provided, and two steel or resin guide rails 2 fixed to the wall of the quay. The fender is directly attached to the quay. It is structured such that it can be freely moved up and down while holding both side portions of the substrate 5 by the guide rail 2 without being fixed. In addition, an air-filling valve 7 is attached to the quay pneumatic fender 1, and the guide rail is set to a required length in consideration of the tidal difference depending on the region. Stoppers 2a and 2b are provided on the upper part or on the upper and lower parts for preventing the detachment. The timber-type buoyancy type fender for quay of the present invention is constructed by using the pneumatic fender for the quay and the guide rail as one unit as described above, and this is continuously laid on the quay at predetermined intervals. Corresponding to the port side of a ship.

The buoyancy of the pneumatic fender 1 set to the proper air pressure used in the present invention is extremely large. Therefore, both sides of the board 5 of the fender are held by the guide rails 2 as described above. When it is installed on the quay, it will float on the surface of the sea in that state already, and it can move up and down freely according to the ebb and flow of the tide, and it will be possible to dock the ship at the optimum position at all times. Further, since both sides of the board are held by the strong guide rails and the stoppers 2a and 2b are also provided, there is no fear that the fender will come off not only when the ship comes into contact with the sea but also when there is a strong wave.

The high-performance pneumatic fender can adapt to the ebb and flow of the tide and can be landed at the proper position on the ship, and it has the advantage that it does not have to be pulled up to the land even when the waves are high. In addition, the pneumatic type can save the amount of raw materials used compared to the solid type, and since the amount of energy absorbed is large, the mounting interval can be widened and the cost per performance of the fender can be reduced. .
