Abstract
Description
Claims (10)
- 1.正常動作で有効信号の受信時に事故送信器をディスエーブルする検出器手段 を含み、前記事故送信器はエネーブルされたときに、有効信号として認識可能で あり、増幅器の識別子を含む情報により変調される光事故信号を増幅器の出力に 供給するように構成された光子増幅器。
- 2.検出器手段は予め定められたレベルより上の制御音調が検出されたとき、事 故送信器をディスエーブルし、予め定められたレベルより下の制御音調が検出さ れたとき事故送信器をエネーブルするように構成され、事故送信器は前記事故信 号が増幅器が接続される類似の増幅器の事故送信器をディスエーブルするように 制御音調で変調された事故信号を生成する制御音調で変調された信号と共に使用 するための請求項1記載の光子増幅器。
- 3.レーザ物質粒子でドープされた光ファイバ増幅器である増幅媒体を有する請 求項1または2のいずれか1項記載の光子増幅器。
- 4.レーザ物質粒子はNdまたはErである請求項3記載の光子増幅器。
- 5.増幅器は、(a)減衰された光信号の受信用の入力ポートと、 (b)増幅された信号の前方伝送用の出力ポートと、(c)レーザドーパントを 含むファイバ増幅器媒体と、(d)前記ファイバ増幅器媒体中にレーザ増幅状態 を維持するためにポンプ放射線を供給するファイバ増幅器媒体と動作的に接続さ れたポンプ手段と、 (e)ファイバ増幅器媒体において増幅された信号のレベルに応答し、ファイバ 増幅器媒体に供給されるポンプ放射線の量を変化することによって増幅器中の利 得を制御するようにポンプ手段に動作的に接続され、それによって増幅器を制御 するAGCを構成している検出器手段と、(f)事故光信号の前方伝送のために 出力ポートに接続された事故送信手段とを含み、 検出器手段は事故送信器が増幅された信号のレベルが予め定められたレベルを越 えたときにディスエーブルされるように事故送信器に動作的に接続され、事故送 信器は増幅された信号のレベルが予め定められたレベルより小さいときにエネー ブルされる請求項3または4のいずれか1項記載の光子増幅器。
- 6.光事故信号はデジタル的に変調される請求項1乃至5のいずれか1項記載の 光子増幅器。
- 7.請求項1乃至6のいずれか1項記載の少なくとも1つの増幅器を含むことが できる防水性容器を含み、光信号の受信、電力の供給および増幅された信号の前 方伝送のために2つの海底光ケーブルへ接続されるように構成されている中継器 。
- 8.中継器は6個または8個の増幅器を含んでいる請求項7記載の中継器。
- 9.海底光ケーブルにより相互接続された請求項7または8のいずれか1項によ る複数の中継器を含む海底光通信システム。
- 10.中継器の数が2乃至60である請求項9記載の海底システム。
