Abstract

(57)【要約】 【構成】 第1部分12および第2部分14を開いた状
態でワークコイル10を継手の周囲に配置し、第1部分
12および第2部分14を閉じて、ロック機構28をロ
ックする。融着終了後には、ロック状態を解除して第1
部分12および第2部分14を開き、継手からワークコ
イル10を離脱する。 【効果】 ワークコイル10を簡単に着脱できるので、
施工性を向上できる。

【発明の詳細な説明】
【0001】
【産業上の利用分野】この発明は誘導融着用ワークコイ
ルに関し、特にたとえば高周波誘導加熱によるプラスチ
ックパイプ等の融着に用いられる、誘導融着用ワークコ
イルに関する。
【0002】
【従来の技術】高周波誘導加熱を利用してプラスチック
パイプを融着接合するための誘導融着用ワークコイルの
一例が国際公開WO92/15182号に開示されてい
る。このワークコイルは、2つの半割状物で継手を挟む
ようにしたものである。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】従来のワークコイルで
は、装置全体が大型であり、また、2つの半割状物を閉
状態でロックする機構がないため、継手への着脱性が悪
いという問題点があった。それゆえに、この発明の主た
る目的は、着脱性を向上できる、誘導融着用ワークコイ
ルを提供することである。

【課題を解決するための手段】この発明は、各々が高周
波エネルギを生ぜしめるための導電体を有する半割リン
グ状の第1部分および第2部分、第1部分と第2部分と
を開閉可能に連結する連結部、第1部分に設けられる係
止部、および第2部分に設けられ、閉状態のとき係止部
と係合する係合部を備える、誘導融着用ワークコイルで
ある。

【作用】第1部分および第2部分を開いて誘導融着用ワ
ークコイル(以下、単に「ワークコイル」という)を継
手の周囲に配置し、第2部分に設けられた係合部を第1
部分に設けられた係止部に係合する。その状態で、導電
体に通電し、継手に設けられた磁性合金ヒータに高周波
電流を付与する。融着が完了すると、係止部と係合部と
の係合状態を解除し、第1部分と第2部分とを開いてワ
ークコイルを継手から離脱する。

【発明の効果】この発明によれば、ワークコイルを簡単
に着脱できる。この発明の上述の目的,その他の目的,
特徴および利点は、図面を参照して行う以下の実施例の
詳細な説明から一層明らかとなろう。

【実施例】図1および図2を参照して、この実施例のワ
ークコイル10は、略半割リング状の第1部分12およ
び第2部分14を含む。第1部分12は、たとえばポリ
カーボネイト等の耐熱性合成樹脂からなるコア16aを
含み、コア16aの外表面上には、導電体18aおよび
フェライト層20aがこの順で形成される。そして、コ
ア16a,導電体18aおよびフェライト層20aを覆
うようにして、アルミニウム等からなるケーシング22
aが形成される。第2部分14も第1部分12と同様
に、コア16b,導電体18b,フェライト層20bお
よびケーシング22bを含み、第1部分12のケーシン
グ22aと第2部分14のケーシング22bとが各々の
上端部において、蝶番24を介して連結される。
【0008】そして、ケーシング22aおよびケーシン
グ22bの上部には、略コ字状の把手26aおよび26
bが設けられ、下端部には、ロック機構28が設けられ
る。ロック機構28は、図3からよくわかるように、ケ
ーシング22bに設けられる係止部30およびケーシン
グ22aに設けられる係合部32を含む。係合部32
は、支点34において支持され、通常は、ばね36によ
って矢印A方向すなわち係合方向に付勢されている。把
手26aには、図4に示すように、上下方向(矢印B方
向)へ摺動し得るレバー38が設けられ、レバー38と
係合部32とがガイドローラ40によって案内されるワ
イヤ42を介して連結される。したがって、レバー38
を引き上げると、ワイヤ42が矢印C方向(図3)へ引
っ張られ、それによって、係合部32が矢印D方向へ回
動され、係止部30と係合部32との係合状態(ロック
状態)が解除される。
【0009】融着接合時には、図5に示すように、電気
融着用継手44の受口に接合すべきプラスチックパイプ
46を挿入する。そして、図6に示すように、第1部分
12および第2部分14を開いた状態で、ワークコイル
10を継手44の周囲に配置し、第1部分12および第
2部分14を閉じる。すると、矢印A方向に付勢された
係合部32が係止部30に係合される。
【0010】ワークコイル10を継手44の周囲にセッ
トした後、ワークコイル10の導電体18aおよび18
bに高周波電源48(図5)を用いて通電し、継手44
の磁性合金ヒータ50に高周波電流を付与して継手44
とパイプ46との接合面を融着する。融着が完了する
と、レバー38(図4)を引き上げてロック状態を解除
し、第1部分12および第2部分14を開いて継手44
からワークコイル10を離脱する。
【0011】この実施例によれば、第1部分12および
第2部分14を開閉でき、しかもレバー38を引き上げ
ることによってロック状態を簡単に解除できるので、ワ
ークコイル10を簡単に着脱できる。なお、上述の実施
例では、第1部分12および第2部分14の周方向端面
にロック機構28を設けるようにしているが、軸方向端
面の図7中斜線で示す位置の少なくとも1箇所にロック
機構28あるいは他のロック機構を設けるようにしても
よい。他のロック機構としては、バックル,ワンプッシ
ュストッパ,電磁チャック等が用いられ得る。

  1. 【請求項1】各々が高周波エネルギを生ぜしめるための
    導電体を有する半割リング状の第1部分および第2部
    分、 前記第1部分と前記第2部分とを開閉可能に連結する連
    結部、 前記第1部分に設けられる係止部、および前記第2部分
    に設けられ、閉状態のとき前記係止部と係合する係合部
    を備える、誘導融着用ワークコイル。
