【産業上の利用分野】本発明はおむつその他の吸収性物
品に関し、より詳細には、人体から排泄物を隔離または
保持する能力を改良したおむつその他の吸収性物品に関
する。
【０００２】
【従来技術】近年、使い捨ておむつその他の吸収性物品
は幼児用または大人用の失禁用品として広範囲の用途を
持つようになり、再使用可能な、すなわち洗濯可能な布
製の吸収製用品にとって代わった。代表的な使い捨てお
むつその他の吸収性物品は三層からなる。すなわち、液
体透過性のトップシートと、液体非透過性のバックシー
トと、トップシートとバックシートとの間の吸収体の三
つである。さらに、これらのおむつはおむつ自体を着用
者に定着させておく手段も有する。
【０００３】最近ではこれらのおむつその他の吸収性物
品は広く用いられているが、改良すべき点も残っている
。特に、着用者の皮膚から排泄された物を分離し、さら
にそれを保持するという点である。近年のおむつその他
の吸収性物品はおむつの外側に尿を洩らさないという点
では満足できるものではあるが、おむつの内部に保持さ
れた排泄物が着用者の皮膚に接触してしまうことが度々
起こる。このような皮膚と排泄物との接触状態が長く続
くと、それが原因になって、皮膚炎や皮膚の水ぶくれや
面倒な後始末などの好ましくない結果を生じる。
【０００４】
【発明が解決しようとする問題点】本発明はこれらの問
題に鑑みてなされたものである。
【０００５】
【問題点を解決するための手段】本発明は、形状がポケ
ット状をなし、排泄物を受け入れ、着用者の皮膚から隔
離し、保持するおむつその他の吸収性物品を提供する。
【０００６】本発明が提供する吸収性物品は、バックシ
ートと、開口を有するトップシートと、バックシートと
トップシートとの間の吸収体と、持ち上げ手段とを有す
る。持ち上げ手段はトップシートの下方にあって、トッ
プシートを吸収体の上方に隔置させるものであり、これ
によって、排泄物を隔離し、保持するためのポケット状
形状が形成される。
【０００７】さらに、本発明においては、トップシート
の開口はほぼＵ字形に形成されており、「Ｕ」の開口部
分が吸収体の前縁を向くように配置されている。
【０００８】さらに、本発明においては、吸収体は、該
吸収体の両側に配置された一対の吸収パネルと、一対の
弾性部材とを備えるようにすることができる。一対の弾
性部材は伸張した状態で取り付けられており、これによ
って、吸収パネルと吸収体とがポケット状形状をなす。
【０００９】以上述べた本発明の目的および特徴は図面
を参照して行う以下の説明により明らかになる。
【００１０】
【実施例】本発明に係る吸収性物品は幼児用おむつ、大
人用失禁用品などに用いることができる。以下の説明に
おいては、本発明の吸収性物品を幼児用おむつに適用し
たものについて説明する。このおむつは約１２〜２４ポ
ンドの体重の幼児に適応するようにつくられたものであ
る。ただし、本発明は他のものに適用できることは言う
までもない。
【００１１】図１、図２、図３及び図９には、本発明に
係るおむつ１０が示されている。おむつ１０は、トップ
シート１２と、バックシート１４と、トップシート１２
とバックシート１４との間に設けられた吸収体１６とを
備える。吸収体１６は、吸収構造体１８と、当て布２０
と、孔２２とを備える。吸収体１６とバックシート１４
との間には、孔２２の下方に位置するようにマスク層２
４が配置されている。トップシート１２の下方すなわち
直下にはブロック２６が配置され、トップシート１２の
一部が吸収体１６から浮き上がるようになされており、
これによって、ポケット状形状が形成される。おむつ１
０は、さらに、弾性側部フラップ２８と、保持フラップ
３０と、伸張可能な耳部分３２とを有する。おむつ１０
を幼児に定着させるため、耳部分３２にはファスナー３
４が設けられている。本実施例においては、ファスナー
３４は、耳部分３２に設けられたフック部材３６とバッ
クシート１４に設けられたループ部材３８とからなる。 ファスナー３４としては、他の形式の機械的ファスナー
、接着テープなどを用いることができる。
【００１２】図８及び図９を参照すると、トップシート
１２は当初の状態においてはほぼ長方形をなしており、
前方部分４０と後方部分４２と股部分４４とを有してい
る。図８に示す完成したトップシート１２はほぼＵ字型
、すなわち馬蹄型をなしており、そのうちの伸張してい
る部分が保持フラップ３０を形成している。図８を参照
すると、馬蹄型形状は、長手方向に延びる中心線、すな
わち切断線４６に沿って後方部分４２の頂点５０まで切
断し、トップシート１２の切断部分を折り曲げることに
よって形成される。トップシート１２を切断し、折り曲
げて保持フラップ３０を形成する前に、弾性部材５２を
伸張させた状態において、切断線４６に隣接させて、長
手方向に延びる各々の折り曲げ線５４の外側の位置にお
いて股部分４４に張りつける。ついで、切断および折り
曲げ工程の際に弾性部材５２をトップシート１２でカバ
ーする。切断線４６と折り曲げ線５４との間のトップシ
ート１２の各部分は折り曲げられ、トップシート１２の
残りの部分に接着されて折り曲げ部分５６を形成する（
図９）。切断および折り曲げの際、頂点５０付近の折り
曲げ部分５６の一部は切断され、さらに、折り曲げ線５
８に沿って折り曲げられる。折り曲げ線５８は各々の地
点６０から延び、頂点５０において交差している。ある
いは、切断線４６と折り曲げ線５４との間のトップシー
ト１２の各部分を切断して、トップシート１２から切り
離した後に、弾性部材５２を伸張させた状態で保持フラ
ップ３０に接着してもよい。
【００１３】本発明において重要なことは弾性部材５２
相互間の間隔と、切断線４６にほぼ垂直な方向における
保持フラップ３０の高さ及び幅である。各弾性部材５２
が一本のロープ、糸、またはリボン状材料からなる場合
には、弾性部材５２間の間隔は、伸張した状態での各ロ
ープ、糸、またはリボン状材料の相互に向かいあってい
る、最も内側の縁の間の間隔である。また、本発明にお
いては、各弾性部材５２が複数のロープ、糸、またはリ
ボン状材料である場合も含まれる。後者の場合には、弾
性部材５２間の間隔は、各弾性部材５２における最も内
側のロープ、糸、またはリボン状材料が伸張した状態に
おいてそれらの相互の間隔として測定される。例えば、
図８及び図９においては、各弾性部材５２は弾性部材か
らなる２本のロープ、またはフィラメントからなってお
り、その２本のロープは相互に隔置され、各折り曲げ線
５４にほぼ平行になっている。弾性部材５２の間の間隔
は最も内側のロープ、またはフィラメントの相互に向き
合っている面の間の間隔として測定される。というのは
、弾性部材５２は伸張した状態で取り付けられているの
で、少なくとも股部分４４の一部においては、弾性部材
５２が収縮すると保持フラップ３０が平面状態からギャ
ザーの状態に変わる。
【００１４】上述したように、本発明においては、弾性
部材５２相互間の間隔と、保持フラップ３０の高さ及び
幅が重要な意義を有する。例えば、弾性部材５２が極め
て近接して配置されていたり、および／または、保持フ
ラップ３０の幅が広すぎたり、高さが高すぎたりすると
、保持フラップ３０は着用者の者の尻の裂け目まで動い
てしまう。この結果、排泄物が着用者の側、すなわちト
ップシート１２の上面６２（図９）に漏れ出して、幼児
の皮膚を汚したり、清掃を一層困難なものにしてしまう
。あるいは、弾性部材５２の間隔が離れすぎていたり、
および／または、保持フラップ３０が短すぎたり、狭す
ぎたりすると、保持フラップ３０は着用者の体に対して
十分にシールすることができなくなり、排泄物が保持フ
ラップ３０の上を通過してしまうおそれを生じる。
【００１５】弾性部材５２は伸張させて取りつけた状態
で約４．５ｃｍの間隔を有することが好ましい。好まし
い間隔は約２〜約７ｃｍであり、最大間隔は約１ｃｍか
らおむつ１０の全幅までの範囲である。
【００１６】本実施例においては、弾性部材５２の長さ
は伸張した状態において約１９ｃｍであり、他の要因に
応じて約７ｃｍからおむつ１０の全長までの範囲の長さ
を取り得る。好ましい範囲は約１２〜約３０ｃｍである
。弾性部材５２の長さはおむつ１０の全長に基づいて決
めることもできる。すなわち、各弾性部材５２の長さは
おむつ１０の全長の約３０〜約８５％、好ましくは約４
０〜約６０％とすることができる。
【００１７】また、各弾性部材５２は、２５０％伸張し
たときに長さが１９ｃｍとなるような４７０Ｄｅｃｉｔ
ｅｘ　　Ｌｙｃｒａ（Ｄｅｃｉｔｅｘは長さ１００００
ｍの一本の糸の重量をグラムで表した数である）の二本
のストランドとしてもよい。当然のことながら、各弾性
部材５２に対して１本の他、何本のストランドでも用い
ることができ、それによって保持フラップ３０を適切か
つ十分に弾性化することができる。
【００１８】弾性部材５２は股部分４４の領域内におい
て保持フラップ３０をギャザーするように設けられてい
ることが好ましく、その際、保持フラップ３０のギャザ
ー部分が長手方向においておむつ１０の後縁６６と前縁
６７から約２〜約１０ｃｍのところまで延びているよう
にする。
【００１９】前述したように、保持フラップ３０の高さ
、または幅もまた本発明において重要な意義を有してい
る。各保持フラップ３０の好ましい高さ、または幅は約
３．５ｃｍである。しかしながら、おむつ１０の全体の
大きさに応じて、各保持フラップ３０の高さ、または幅
は約１ｃｍからおむつ１０の全幅の半分の長さまでの範
囲とすることができ、より詳細には、約１〜約６ｃｍと
することができる。保持フラップ３０の高さ、または幅
は、各折り曲げ線５４と、保持フラップ３０がトップシ
ート１２と一体になる線との間の間隔として測定される
。
【００２０】再び図９を参照すると、トップシート１２
の開口６４はほぼ長方形形状のものとして示されている
が、開口６４はいかなる形状とすることもできる。本実
施例においては、開口６４は好ましい面積として約１３
０平方センチメートルを有する。おむつ１０の大きさに
応じて、開口６４の面積は約３０〜約４００平方センチ
メートルの範囲で変えることができ、より好ましくは約
６０〜約２６０平方センチメートルの範囲で変えること
ができる。開口６４の好ましい大きさを決めるもう一つ
の方法はトップシート１２の全面積の割合で決めること
である。例えば、図示した実施例においては、開口６４
の面積はトップシート１２の表面積の約２５％である。 あるいは、開口６４の面積はトップシート１２の表面積
の約１０〜約８０％とすることもできる。
【００２１】トップシート１２に開口６４を形成する際
に重要なことは、開口６４の後方が、例えば頂点５０に
おいて、幼児の肛門の後方の少なくとも約１ｃｍの位置
に配置されるようにすることである。幼児の肛門の１ｃ
ｍ上方の位置に配置されればなお好ましい。開口６４を
適正な位置に配置する他の手段は、おむつ１０の後縁６
６との関係において位置決めを行うことである。この実
施例においては、開口６４の後縁はおむつ１０の後縁６
６から約７ｃｍ隔置されている。あるいは、おむつ１０
の大きさに応じて、開口６４の後縁はおむつ１０の後縁
６６から約１〜約１０ｃｍの範囲に隔置することができ
る。
【００２２】図４、図５、図９を参照すると、吸収構造
体１８はほぼ砂時計の形状をなしており、さらに、孔２
２を有している。吸収構造体１８は長方形またはＴ字型
などの他の形状とすることもできる。本実施例において
は、孔２２は前縁６８、後縁７０、側縁７２とを有する
台形の形状をなしている。本実施例においては、前縁６
８は約２．５ｃｍの幅を有し、後縁７０は約４ｃｍの幅
を有し、側縁７２は約１０ｃｍの長さを有している。前
縁６８はおむつ１０の前縁６７から約１４ｃｍのところ
に位置している。あるいは、吸収構造体１８の前縁７４
から約１２．５ｃｍのところに位置している。前縁６８
は前縁６７あるいは前縁７４から約５〜約２０ｃｍの範
囲のところに位置させることができる。排泄物が孔２２
に受け入れられ、そこで保持されるようにするため、前
縁６８は幼児の肛門の前方少なくとも約１ｃｍのところ
に位置させる必要がある。繰り返すと、孔２２の形状及
び寸法は、いくつかのファクターの中でも、特におむつ
１０の全体の大きさに依存する。一般に、孔２２の面積
は約３２ｃｍ２　であり、約５〜約１００ｃｍ２　の範
囲の面積とすることができ、好ましくは約１５〜６５ｃ
ｍ２　である。
【００２３】孔２２は、排泄物を受け入れ、保持するた
めの空間を確保するため、十分な深さを有していること
が必要である。例えば、一実施例においては、孔２２の
深さは約１ｃｍとされる。孔２２の深さはおむつ１０の
大きさ及び吸収体１６を形成する吸収構造体１８の大き
さによって変わる。すなわち、孔２２の最小深さは約１
ｃｍである。トップシート１２の開口６４と吸収構造体
１８の孔２２との間には好ましい関係がある。開口６４
の後方、例えば頂点５０は、おむつ１０の後縁６６から
約１ｃｍの位置から孔２２の前縁６８から約１ｃｍの位
置に至る範囲内に位置させることができる。より好まし
くは、開口６４の後方は、孔２２の後縁７０から後方に
約２ｃｍの位置から孔２２の前縁６８から後方に約２ｃ
ｍの位置に至る範囲内に位置させることである。
【００２４】馬蹄型の当て布２０は吸収構造体１８の上
に配置され、この場合、図４に示すように、孔２２を一
部分でも塞がないようにすることが好ましい。当て布２
０は多くの効用を有する。例えば、孔２２により形成さ
れる空間の容積を増加させたり、あるいはそれ自体吸収
体として作用したりすることである。超吸収体を当て布
２０に、あるいは当て布２０と吸収構造体１８の双方に
付加してもよく、これによって、排尿の際に超吸収体が
膨張し、孔２２の空間の吸収性能および／または容積を
増加させることができる。馬蹄型当て布２０は約１２．
５ｃｍの長さと約５ｃｍの幅とを有している。当て布２
０の開口端は前方を向いている、すなわちおむつ１０の
前縁の方向を向いていることが好ましい。しかしながら
、当て布２０がおむつ１０の後縁の方向を向くようにし
て孔２２を完全に取り囲むようにすることもできる。 あるいは、様々な形状の２個またはそれ以上の小片から
なる当て布とすることもできる。一般には、当て布２０
の長さは、約８ｃｍから吸収構造体１８の最大長さまで
の範囲であり、最大幅は吸収構造体１８の幅に等しく、
深さは約１ｍｍ〜約３ｃｍである。
【００２５】当て布２０と吸収構造体１８は、そのいず
れか一方または双方をティシューまたはその他の材質の
層で囲むようにしてもよく、これによって、吸収体の一
体性を維持し、その中に含まれる超吸収体の分散を防止
することができる。
【００２６】図６および図７を参照すると、吸収構造体
１８には孔２２を取り囲んでいる超吸収体領域７６が形
成されている。この超吸収体領域７６に対して排尿がな
されると、超吸収体領域７６は膨張し、排泄物を受け入
れ、保持するための空間を拡大させる。超吸収体領域７
６は吸収構造体の種類に応じていかなる形状または密度
にもすることができる。
【００２７】図１０を参照すると、吸収構造体１８の一
部７９が切り取られており、切り抜き部分８０と吸収パ
ネル７８とが形成されている。各吸収パネル７８は吸収
構造体１８から隔置されており、伸張した弾性部材８２
がパネル７８とバックシート１４との間に配置されてい
る。弾性部材８２は一つ、二つまたは全ての吸収パネル
７８、吸収構造体１８、およびバックシート１４に取り
付けられており、これによって、ポケット状形状が形成
されている。取り付けは吸収パネル７８、吸収構造体１
８、あるいはバックシート１４のいかなる部分に対して
行ってもよい。例えば、側部や縁などである。必要ある
場合には、パネル７８の外周縁８４が吸収構造体１８の
長手方向の縁８６と一直線上に並ぶようにトリミングし
てもよい。伸張している弾性部材８２を収縮させると、
吸収パネル７８はカールする、すなわち上方に跳ね上が
る。吸収パネル７８は切り抜き部分８０から離すことが

。吸収パネル８８は、切断線９０に沿って吸収構造体１

２に沿って刻み目が入っている。さらに、弾性部材８３
が伸張した状態において一つ、二つまたは全ての吸収パ
ネル８８、吸収構造体１８、およびバックシート１４に
取り付けられている。取り付け箇所は吸収パネル８８、
吸収構造体１８またはバックシート１４のいかなる部分
でもよい。例えば、側部や縁などである。弾性部材８３
が収縮すると、吸収パネル８８はカールする、すなわち
上方に跳ね上がる。
【００２９】図１、図３、図８、図９を参照すると、ブ
ロック２６はトップシート１２の下方であって、開口６
４のわずか後方に配置されている。このブロック２６は
少なくとも二つの所望の機能を果たすという点において
本発明においては重要なものである。その機能の一つは
、糞便が幼児の尻の裂け目に移動することを防止するこ
とである。第二の機能はトップシート１２が吸収体１６
の上方に隔置されるようにしてポケット状の空間を形成
することであり、これによって、糞便がトップシート１
２の下を通るようにしてトップシート１２の上を通った
り、幼児の皮膚に触れたりすることを防止する。
【００３０】ブロック２６は、例えば、発泡剤、セルロ
ース材料、セルロース繊維と合成繊維とからなる組み合
わせ材料、あらゆる合成繊維、または合成繊維を組み合
わせたものなどからつくることができる。ブロック２６
の形状は長方形が好ましいが、所望の機能を果たす形状
であればいかなる形状でもよい。
【００３１】本実施例においては、ブロック２６は長さ
が約４ｃｍ、幅が２ｃｍ、厚さが約１ｃｍであり、頂点
５０とおむつ１０の後縁６６との間に配置されている。
【００３２】図２、図３、図８を参照すると、マスク層
２４は孔２２の下方であって、バックシート１４の上に
位置している。マスク層２４は吸収性材料および／また
は超吸収性材料からつくることができ、このように形成
することによって、別個の吸収層として作用させること
ができる。マスク層２４のもう一つの機能は、糞便がバ
ックシート１４を通して見えることを防止することであ
る。マスク層２４は二つの層からなることが好ましい。 一つは、当て布２０及び吸収構造体１８と同じ材料から
なる頂部層である。この頂部層によって吸収体１６の内
部との間の見た目の連続性が確保される。もう一つの層
は、少なくとも約０．５ミルの厚さを有する熱可塑性フ
ィルムからなる底部層である。
【００３３】図２および図３を参照すると、バックシー
ト１４はトップシート１２または吸収体１６よりも長く
、さらに、複数のプリーツ９４が形成されていることが
好ましい。プリーツ９４はバックシート１４が伸張でき
るようにするためのものである。プリーツ９４はどのよ
うな方法で形成してもよいし、また適当であればいかな
る大きさとすることもできる。プリーツ９４はバックシ
ート１４の股領域９６に形成することが好ましい。本実
施例においては、バックシート１４はそれが伸張したと
きには約４０ｃｍの長さであり、トップシート１２は約
３５ｃｍの長さである。
【００３４】トップシート１２は液体非透過性の、親水
性または疎水性の材料からつくることかできる。例えば
、合成ポリマーフィラメントからなるスパンボンディッ
ド・ウェブ、スパンレース・ウェブ、スパンボンディッ
ド−メルトブロウン・ウェブ、メルトブロウン・ウェブ
、あるいは合成ポリマー繊維からなるボンディッド−カ
ーディッド・ウェブなどである。適当な合成ポリマーと
しては、ポリエチレン、ポリプロピレン、ポリエステル
、ナイロンなどがある。一実施例においては、ポリマー
フィラメントは約１．５〜約７デニールの繊度を有し、
好ましくは約１．２〜約６．０デニールの繊度を有する
。フィラメントが形成する層は約１０〜約３５グラム／
平方メートル（ｇ／ｍ２　）の範囲の基本重量を有する
ようにされ、好ましくは約２０（ｇ／ｍ２　）の基本重
量を有するようにする。トップシート１２のかさ厚さは
約０．０１４０〜約０．０４３２ｃｍの範囲とすること
ができ、好ましい範囲は約０．０１８０〜約０．３０５
ｃｍである。かさ厚さは約０．０１４ｐｓｉの圧力の下
で測定される。
【００３５】トップシート１２は種々の材料からつくる
ことができる。例えば、クレイトン（　Ｋｒａｔｏｎ　
）メルトブロウン／ポリプロピレン・スパンボンディッ
ド伸張結合ラミネート（これは界面活性剤を付加するこ
とにより湿潤性にすることができる）や、ポリウレタン
・スパンボンディッド材料（例えば、カネボウ合成繊維
が製造しているもの。これも界面活性剤を付加すること
により湿潤性とすることができる）や、エラストマーか
らなるエラストマーフィルム（エラストマーとしては、
ゴム、ラテックスゴム、ポリウレタン、クレイトンなど
がある。これらは液体の通過を行わせるため孔が開けら
れている）や、液体通過のために孔開けがされているポ
リウレタン発泡材や、弾性部材やその他の手段（例えば
、熱収縮性繊維）を使ってギャザーを行い、弾性的に伸
張する材料とした不織布などである。
【００３６】保持フラップ３０はトップシート１２と同
じ材料からなる。ただし、本発明においては、保持フラ
ップ３０のその部分はトップシート１２の残りの部分と
は異なる材料からつくることもできる。例えば、保持フ
ラップ３０の全部または一部は蒸気及び液体透過性とし
たり、蒸気透過性及び液体非透過性としたり、あるいは
蒸気及び液体非透過性とすることができる。
【００３７】一実施例においては、バックシート１４は
液体非透過性材料からつくることができ、厚さが約１．
０ミルのポリエチレンフィルムからつくることが好まし
い。ただし、厚さは０．５０ミル以上であればよい。バ
ックシート１４は、液体非透過性であるか、またはその
ように処理できるものであれば、いかなる材料からつく
ることもできる。その例としては、ポリプロピレンまた
はポリオレフィンコポリマーからなるメルトブロウンま
たはフィルム材料がある。コポリマーの例としては、エ
チレン・ビニル・アセテート、エチレン・メチル・アセ
テート、エチレン・エチル・アクリレート、ポリビニル
・クロライドなどがある。他の材料としては、上記の材
料からなる単一のスパンボンディッド層、スパンボンデ
ィッド及びメルトブロウン材料からなる二つの層、ある
いは、スパンボンディッド−メルトブロウン−スパンボ
ンディッド材料からなる三層などがあり、これらの各々
は液体非透過性になるように適当な処理またはコーティ
ングが施されている。同じ材料をラミネート形状にして
用いてもよく、スパンボンディッド材料を用いることに
よりバックシート１４には布状の手触りが与えられると
いう新たな特徴を奏する。また、バックシート１４は液
体非透過性であるだけでなく、蒸気透過性でもある材料
からつくることもできる。また、バックシート１４は、
容易に膨張して排泄物保持用の空間をさらに大きくする
ような材料からつくることもできる。例えば、バックシ
ート１４はマイクロクリープした材料、あるいは弾性材
料からつくることもできる。

循環に対して蒸気透過性を示す液体非透過性材料からつ
くることが好ましいが、必要である場合には、液体及び
蒸気非透過性材料、あるいは液体及び蒸気透過性材料か
らつくることもできる。側部フラップ２８は所定の部分
のみ液体透過性とし、他の部分は液体非透過性であるよ
うにすることもできる。側部フラップ２８はバックシー
ト１４の延長部分および／またはトップシート１２の側
部として形成することもできるし、あるいは、バックシ
ート１４および／またはトップシート１２に取り付けた
別個の部品として形成することもできる。側部フラップ
２８はトップシート１２またはバックシート１４を形成
する材料として用いられるもののうちいかなる材料を用
いることもできる。
【００３９】側部フラップ２８は弾性化されており、あ
るいは、弾性部材５２が保持フラップ３０を弾性化する
のと同じ方法を用いて弾性化することもできる。弾性部
材５２は適当な弾性材料であればいかなる材料を用いる
こともできる。例えば、天然ゴム、合成ゴム、あるいは
熱可塑性エラストマーポリマーなどがある。また、弾性
部材５２は一本または複数本の糸、フィラメント、また
は、それらのリボンとすることができる。あるいは、こ
れらの材料は熱収縮性または熱弾性化性とすることもで
きる。各弾性部材５２は２本またはそれ以上の約４７０
〜６２０Ｄｅｃｉｔｅｘ　　Ｌｙｃｒａのストランドま
たはフィラメントからなり、全伸張の９０％時において
は約２５〜約１５０グラムの張力を与える。上記の材料
を用いることより、保持フラップ３０および側部フラッ
プ２８はそれらの伸張時の長さの約３０〜約８０％だけ
収縮する。これらの材料は、全伸張の９０％の伸びを１
分間保持した後において約５０グラムの力と、原長の少
なくとも約４５〜約５０％まで収縮する特性とを有して
いることがより好ましい。
【００４０】側部フラップ２８は０．８オンス／平方ヤ
ードのスパンボンディッド・ポリプロピレンの二つの層
からなることが好ましく、液体透過性、液体非透過性、
あるいは、液体非透過性かつ蒸気透過性とすることがで
きる。例えば、側部フラップ２８は不織組織の少なくと
も一つの層から形成することができる。不織組織として
は、例えば、スパンボンディッド、ボンディッド−カー
ディッドウェブ、あるいはスパン−レース材料などがあ
る。これらはポリプロピレン、ポリエチレン、ポリエス
テル、ナイロンなどのポリマーからなる。側部フラップ
２８の材料は元々非湿潤性（疎水性）であることが好ま
しい。この０．８オンス／平方ヤードの側部フラップは
０．８オンス／平方ヤードのスパンボンディッド・ポリ
プロピレンの層からなり、この層は弾性部材５２などの
弾性部材の上に配置されて２層のフラップを形成する。
【００４１】吸収構造体１８と当て布２０は適当な吸収
性材料からつくることができ、同じ吸収性材料、あるい
は異なる吸収性材料を組み合わせたものを構成するよう
にすることができる。吸収性材料としては、セルロース
繊維、合成繊維、粒子、繊維、層などの形状をした吸収
性ゲル化材料、あるいはそれらの混合物などがある。吸
収性ゲル化材料、すなわち超吸収性材料として適当なも
のは、無機性材料（例えば、シリカゲルなど）、あるい
は有機性化合物（例えば、架橋ポリマーなど）がある。 超吸収性材料、すなわち吸収性ゲル化材料ポリマーとし
ては例えば、ポリアクリルアミド、ポリビニル・アルコ
ール、ポリアクリレートなどがある。この他のポリマー
としては、アクリロニトリルでグラフトしたスターチ、
アクリル酸でグラフトしたスターチ、改質したカルボキ
シ・メチル・セルロースなどがある。
【００４２】吸収構造体１８と当て布２０はそれぞれ別
個にティシュー材料で包んでもよいし、あるいはティシ
ュー材料で双方を一体的に包んでもよい。これによって
、繊維の結合性を維持することができるとともに、超吸
収性材料の移動を防ぐことができる。
【００４３】マスク層２４は、トップシート１２、バッ
クシート１４、および吸収体１６などと同じ材料、ある
いはそれらの材料の組み合わせからつくるようにするこ
ともできる。
【００４４】以上、好適な実施例を用いて本発明を説明
してきたが、それ以外の修正を施すことも可能である。 すなわち、本発明は全ての修正、変更、応用を包含する
ものであり、本発明の記述から当業者が推考し得るもの
も本発明に包含されるべきものである。

Claims (65)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項１】　　バックシートと、開口を有するトップ
    シートと、前記バックシートと前記トップシートとの間
    に配置されている吸収体と、前記トップシートの下方に
    あって、前記トップシートの少なくとも一部を前記吸収
    体から浮き上がらせてポケット状形状を形成する浮き上
    げ手段とを有する吸収性物品。
  2. 【請求項２】　　前記吸収体は、孔と、この孔に対する
    マスク層とを有することを特徴とする請求項１に記載の
    吸収性物品。
  3. 【請求項３】　　前記孔は前記吸収体を貫通しており、
    前記マスク層は前記バックシートと前記吸収体との間に
    配置されることを特徴とする請求項２に記載の吸収性物
    品。
  4. 【請求項４】　　前記マスク層は、吸収性材料の第一層
    と、液体非透過性材料の第二層とからなることを特徴と
    する請求項２に記載の吸収性物品。
  5. 【請求項５】　　前記第一層は超吸収性材料をさらに有
    することを特徴とする請求項４に記載の吸収性物品。
  6. 【請求項６】　　物品の前縁と物品の後縁とをさらに有
    し、前記孔は前記物品の前縁から約５〜約２０ｃｍ離れ
    ている前縁を有していることを特徴とする請求項２に記
    載の吸収性物品。
  7. 【請求項７】　　前記孔は約１ｍｍ〜約３ｃｍの深さを
    有することを特徴とする請求項２に記載の吸収性物品。
  8. 【請求項８】　　前記孔は約５〜約１００ｃｍ２　の面
    積を有することを特徴とする請求項２に記載の吸収性物
    品。
  9. 【請求項９】　　前記孔は約１５〜約６５ｃｍ２　の面
    積を有することを特徴とする請求項８に記載の吸収性物
    品。
  10. 【請求項１０】　　伸張可能な一対の耳部分と、前記耳
    部分の各々に設けられた取り付け手段とを有し、これら
    は前記吸収性物品を着用者に固定するように設けられた
    ものであることを特徴とする請求項１に記載の吸収性物
    品。
  11. 【請求項１１】　　前記取り付け手段はフック部材とル
    ープ部材とからなることを特徴とする請求項１０に記載
    の吸収性物品。
  12. 【請求項１２】　　前記バックシートは伸張可能な材料
    からなることを特徴とする請求項１に記載の吸収性物品
    。
  13. 【請求項１３】　　物品の前縁と物品の後縁とをさらに
    有し、前記吸収性物品体は孔を有し、前記浮き上げ手段
    は前記孔と前記物品の後縁との間に配置されていること
    を特徴とする請求項１に記載の吸収性物品。
  14. 【請求項１４】　　前記浮き上げ手段は前記トップシー
    トと前記バックシートとの間にあり、前記トップシート
    と前記バックシートの双方と接触していることを特徴と
    する請求項１に記載の吸収性物品。
  15. 【請求項１５】　　前記浮き上げ手段は吸収性材料から
    なることを特徴とする請求項１に記載の吸収性物品。
  16. 【請求項１６】　　前記浮き上げ手段は発泡材料からな
    ることを特徴とする請求項１に記載の吸収性物品。
  17. 【請求項１７】　　前記浮き上げ手段は熱可塑性材料か
    らなることを特徴とする請求項１に記載の吸収性物品。
  18. 【請求項１８】　　前記孔に隣接して吸収性当て布部材
    をさらに有することを特徴とする請求項２に記載の吸収
    性物品。
  19. 【請求項１９】　　前記当て布部材は前記孔を部分的に
    囲んでいることを特徴とする請求項１８に記載の吸収性
    物品。
  20. 【請求項２０】　　前記当て布部材は前記孔を完全に囲
    んでいることを特徴とする請求項１８に記載の吸収性物
    品。
  21. 【請求項２１】　　前記当て布部材は前記孔を少なくと
    も部分的に取り囲んでいる複数の当て布部材からなるこ
    とを特徴とする請求項１８に記載の吸収性物品。
  22. 【請求項２２】　　前記当て布部材は超吸収性材料を有
    することを特徴とする請求項１８、１９、２０または２
    １の何れか１項に記載の吸収性物品。
  23. 【請求項２３】　　物品前縁及び物品後縁と、バックシ
    ート及びトップシートと、前記バックシートと前記トッ
    プシートとの間に配置された吸収体とを有し、前記トッ
    プシートはほぼＵ字型形状をなし、該Ｕ字型形状は一対
    の保持フラップと、前記一対の保持フラップの間にあっ
    て前記物品前縁の方向を向いている開口とからなるもの
    である吸収性物品。
  24. 【請求項２４】　　前記保持フラップは前記トップシー
    トと一体であることを特徴とする請求項２３に記載の吸
    収性物品。
  25. 【請求項２５】　　前記各保持フラップは約１ｃｍ以上
    であって、前記吸収性物品の全幅のほぼ半分の長さ以下
    の範囲の幅を有することを特徴とする請求項２３に記載
    の吸収性物品。
  26. 【請求項２６】　　前記各保持フラップは約１〜約６ｃ
    ｍの幅を有することを特徴とする請求項２５に記載の吸
    収性物品。
  27. 【請求項２７】　　前記トップシートの前記開口は約３
    ０〜約４００ｃｍ２の面積を有することを特徴とする請
    求項２３に記載の吸収性物品。
  28. 【請求項２８】　　前記開口は約６０〜約２６０ｃｍ２
    　の面積を有することを特徴とする請求項２７に記載の
    吸収性物品。
  29. 【請求項２９】　　前記開口は前記トップシートの全面
    積の約１０〜約８０％の面積を有することを特徴とする
    請求項２３に記載の吸収性物品。
  30. 【請求項３０】　　前記開口の後縁は前記物品後縁から
    約１〜約１０ｃｍ離れていることを特徴とする請求項２
    ３に記載の吸収性物品。
  31. 【請求項３１】　　前記保持フラップの各々において、
    該保持フラップの少なくとも一部をギャザーするための
    弾性部材を有していることを特徴とする請求項２３に記
    載の吸収性物品。
  32. 【請求項３２】　　前記弾性部材は伸張した状態におい
    て取り付けられ、前記保持フラップの前記各部分をギャ
    ザーするものであることを特徴とする請求項３１に記載
    の吸収性物品。
  33. 【請求項３３】　　前記弾性部材は、伸張した状態にお
    いて、約１ｃｍ以上であって前記吸収性物品のほぼ全幅
    以下の範囲の長さだけ相互に隔置されていることを特徴
    とする請求項３２に記載の吸収性物品。
  34. 【請求項３４】　　前記弾性部材は、伸張した状態にお
    いて、約２〜約７ｃｍ相互に隔置されていることを特徴
    とする請求項３３に記載の吸収性物品。
  35. 【請求項３５】　　前記弾性部材の伸張した状態におけ
    る長さは約７ｃｍ以上であって前記吸収性物品の全長以
    下であることを特徴とする請求項３１に記載の吸収性物
    品。
  36. 【請求項３６】　　前記弾性部材の長さは伸張した状態
    において約１２〜約３０ｃｍであることを特徴とする請
    求項３５に記載の吸収性物品。
  37. 【請求項３７】　　前記ギャザー部分は、前記物品前縁
    と前記物品後縁の何れか一方から約２〜約１０ｃｍのと
    ころで終わっていることを特徴とする請求項３１に記載
    の吸収性物品。
  38. 【請求項３８】　　ベースシートと、両側の側縁を構成
    している吸収体と、前記吸収性側縁の一つとともに配置
    され、他方からは隔置されている一対の吸収パネルと、
    前記ベースシート、前記吸収体、前記吸収パネルの各々
    の少なくとも一つに対応して設けられている一対の弾性
    部材とを備える吸収性物品。
  39. 【請求項３９】　　前記弾性部材は伸張した状態におい
    て前記吸収パネルと前記ベースシートとに取り付けられ
    ていることを特徴とする請求項３８に記載の吸収性物品
    。
  40. 【請求項４０】　　前記弾性部材は伸張した状態におい
    て前記吸収パネルと前記吸収体とに取り付けられている
    ことを特徴とする請求項３８に記載の吸収性物品。
  41. 【請求項４１】　　前記弾性部材は伸張した状態におい
    て前記吸収体および前記ベースシートに取り付けられて
    いることを特徴とする請求項３８に記載の吸収性物品。
  42. 【請求項４２】　　前記弾性部材は伸張した状態におい
    て前記吸収体、前記ベースシート、及び前記各吸収パネ
    ルに取り付けられていることを特徴とする請求項３８に
    記載の吸収性物品。
  43. 【請求項４３】　　前記吸収パネルはその吸収性側縁か
    ら少なくとも約１ｍｍ離れていることを特徴とする請求
    項３８に記載の吸収性物品。
  44. 【請求項４４】　　ベースシートと、両側の側縁を構成
    している吸収体と、前記吸収性側縁をギャザー可能にし
    た部分と、前記ベースシート、前記吸収体、前記吸収性
    部分の各々の少なくとも一つに対応して設けられている
    一対の弾性部材とを備える吸収性物品。
  45. 【請求項４５】　　前記弾性部材は伸張した状態におい
    て前記吸収体および前記ベースシートに取り付けられて
    いることを特徴とする請求項３８に記載の吸収性物品。
  46. 【請求項４６】　　前記弾性部材は伸張した状態におい
    て前記吸収性部分および前記ベースシートに取り付けら
    れていることを特徴とする請求項４４に記載の吸収性物
    品。
  47. 【請求項４７】　　前記弾性部材は伸張した状態におい
    て前記吸収体および前記ベースシートに取り付けられて
    いることを特徴とする請求項４４に記載の吸収性物品。
  48. 【請求項４８】　　前記弾性部材は伸張した状態におい
    て前記吸収体、前記ベースシート、および前記吸収性部
    分に取り付けられていることを特徴とする請求項４４に
    記載の吸収性物品。
  49. 【請求項４９】　　バックシートと、開口を有するトッ
    プシートを形成する工程と、吸収体を前記バックシート
    と前記トップシートとの間に配置する工程と、前記トッ
    プシートの少なくとも一部分を前記吸収体から浮き上が
    らせる工程とからなる吸収性物品の製造方法。
  50. 【請求項５０】　　前記吸収体は孔を有しており、さら
    に、その孔に対応するマスク層を形成する工程とを備え
    る請求項４９に記載の方法。
  51. 【請求項５１】　　前記吸収体内の前記孔に隣接して当
    て布部材を形成する工程をさらに備える請求項４９に記
    載の方法。
  52. 【請求項５２】　　バックシートと、トップシートと、
    物品前縁及び物品後縁とを形成する工程と、前記トップ
    シートにほぼＵ字型の開口を設ける工程とを備え、該開
    口は前記トップシートと向かい合い、前記物品前縁の方
    向に開口しており、吸収体を前記バックシートと前記ト
    ップシートとの間に配置する工程とを備える吸収性物品
    の製造方法。
  53. 【請求項５３】　　ほぼＵ字型のトップシートを形成す
    る前記工程は、一対の保持フラップを形成する工程を含
    んでおり、さらに、吸収性物品の製造方法が前記保持フ
    ラップの各々の少なくとも一部分にギャザーをつける工
    程を有することを特徴とする請求項５２に記載の方法。
  54. 【請求項５４】　　ベースシートを形成する工程と、両
    側に側縁を有する吸収体を形成する工程と、前記吸収性
    側縁の各々に一対の吸収性部分を配置する工程と、前記
    吸収性部分および前記吸収体にポケット状形状を形成す
    る工程とからなる吸収性物品の製造方法。
  55. 【請求項５５】　　一対の弾性部材を前記吸収性側縁の
    各々に取りつける工程をさらに備えることを特徴とする
    請求項５４に記載の吸収性物品。
  56. 【請求項５６】　　前記吸収性部分は前記吸収性側縁の
    一つから隔置されていることを特徴とする請求項５５に
    記載の製造方法。
  57. 【請求項５７】　　前記取り付け工程には前記弾性部材
    を伸張させる工程が含まれることを特徴とする請求項５
    ５に記載の製造方法。
  58. 【請求項５８】　　前記取り付け工程は各弾性部材を各
    吸収性部分及び前記ベースシートに取り付ける工程を含
    むことを特徴とする請求項５７に記載の製造方法。
  59. 【請求項５９】　　前記取り付け工程は各弾性部材を各
    吸収性部分及び前記吸収体に取り付ける工程を含むこと
    を特徴とする請求項５７に記載の製造方法。
  60. 【請求項６０】　　前記取り付け工程は各弾性部材を各
    吸収体及び前記ベースシートに取り付ける工程を含むこ
    とを特徴とする請求項５７に記載の製造方法。
  61. 【請求項６１】　　前記取り付け工程は各弾性部材を前
    記吸収体、前記ベースシート、および各吸収性部分に取
    り付ける工程を含むことを特徴とする請求項５７に記載
    の製造方法。

    る長さは前記吸収性物品の長さの約３０〜約８５％であ
    ることを特徴とする請求項５７に記載の製造方法。

    少なくとも一部の付近に超吸収性材料の領域とを有して
    いることを特徴とする請求項１に記載の吸収性物品。
  64. 【請求項６４】　　前記領域は前記孔を取り囲んでいる
    ことを特徴とする請求項６３に記載の吸収性物品。
  65. 【請求項６５】　　前記吸収体は孔を有しており、この
    孔の周囲の少なくとも一部の付近に超吸収性材料の領域
    を形成する工程をさらに有していることを特徴とする請
    求項４９に記載の製造方法。
