Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 [産業上の利用分野] 本発明は包装物の製造方法、殊に超音波振動に
よる溶着を利用して包装用の袋を形成し、そこへ
内容物を充容する操作を繰返すことによる包装物
の製造方法に関するものである。
[従来技術と問題点] 内面に熱接着性を有する包材を重ね合わせて開
放側縁に縦熱接着部を形成するとともに超音波振
動により横熱接着部を形成し、前記縦、横の熱接
着部に囲まれた包材間に内容物を充容する包装物
の製造方法が例えば特開昭56−4529号公報、実願
昭54−29068号(実開昭55−129605号)のマイク
ロフイルムなどに提示されている。
即ち、この製造方法は互いに重ね合わせた包材
の横方向の接着部に高周波の機械的な振動を与え
て摩擦熱を発生させ、この摩擦熱により包材の内
面を溶融して包材を互いに接着することにより内
容物を充容するための袋を形成するものである。
従つて、高温の加熱用押型を用いることなく溶着
を行なうことができるため、比較的厚手の外層材
を有する包材或いは中間に金属箔が積層されてい
る包材なども強固に且つ迅速にしかも容易に溶着
することが可能であるばかりか、溶着の際に加え
られる高熱による包材の変形や損傷などがなく、
また、溶着熱によつて内容物が変質、劣化するこ
ともないなど多くの利点を有している。
ところが、前記従来の製造方法は包材を押圧板
と協同して挟持する振動端子に加えられる超音波
振動を包材の表面に対して直角方向に加えるもの
である。そのため横の熱接着予定箇所に粉体や年
稠物などの内容物が付着し或るいはそれよりも上
方まで充容されているとき、これらを上方ならび
に下方へ移動させる力が殆ど働かないので完全に
排除することができず、これらが熱接着部に残存
して接着不良による内容物の漏洩、熱接着部の剥
離による破袋などが生じるという問題がある。
本発明は斯る問題点を解決するためになされた
ものであつて、超音波振動を利用して従来と同様
に溶着が迅速且つ確実に行われると同時に包材な
らびに内容物に溶着熱による劣化を生じさせない
ことは勿論のこと、内容物が熱接着予定箇所に存
在していてもこれを完全に排除して良好な熱接着
部が形成できる包装物の製造方法を提供すること
を目的とするものである。
[問題点を解決するための手段] 本発明は、内面に熱接着性を有する帯状包材を
重ね合わせて縦方向へ間欠的に移送させ、移送時
に前記包材の開放側縁に縦熱接着部を形成すると
ともに、停止時に超音波振動により横熱接着部を
形成し、前記縦、横の熱接着部に囲まれた包材間
に内容物を充容する操作を繰返す包装物の製造方
法が有している前記問題点を解決するため前記超
音波振動を前記包材に対して斜め方向に加えるよ
うにした。
即ち、包材に直角方向の超音波振動を加えると
向かい合つた包材を単純に圧着するだけであるの
できわめて良好な熱接着部を形成することができ
る。一方、接着予定箇所に存在している内容物を
上方ならびに下方へ移動させてには包材に平行な
方向の超音波振動を加えればよいが、平行な方向
へ振動を加えると超音波発生装置の摩擦熱発生部
分である振動端子ならびに押圧板とこれらに挟持
されている包材との間に滑りが発生して接着予定
箇所への振動の伝達が充分に行われない。そのた
め、接着面において接着に必要な摩擦熱が充分に
発生しないため接着不良を生じるとともに包材が
ささくれ、裂開などの損傷を受けやすいという不
都合がある。
従つて、本発明ではこれらの長所を生かし短所
を最小限にとどめるため斜め方向の超音波振動を
加えることとしたものである。
尚、斜めの角度は包材の表面に対して10〜30度
の範囲とするのがよい。
[作用] 超音波振動が包材に対して斜め方向に加えられ
たとき、熱接着予定箇所に存在している内容物は
包材に対して平行な振動成分により上方ならびに
下方へ移動させて上方の包装材内ならびに下方の
包装物内に入り除去される。また、同時に加えら
れる包材に対して直角な振動成分により接着面に
摩擦熱を発生させるとともに包材に対して平行な
振動成分により生じる滑りを減少させる。
[実施例] 次に本発明を図面に示す実施例に基づいて詳細
に説明する。
第1図乃至第4図は本発明を実施するための製
造装置の一例を示すものであり、帯状の包材1,
2は厚さ20〜50μのエチレン酢酸ビニル共重合体
を15〜30重量%添付したポリエチレン、ポリ塩化
ビニルなどの熱接着性を有する合成樹脂膜と、ア
ルミニウム箔、ポリエステルフイルム、ポリアミ
ドフイルム、伸延ポリプロピレンフイルムなどの
単体或いはこれらの積層体とが重ね合わされて内
面が熱接着性を有する構成である。そして、これ
らの包材1,2を重ね合わせて縦下方向へ送るた
めの一対の回転ローラ35,36が配置されてい
るとともにその下方には包材1,2の開放側縁
6,7を連続して熱接着するための電熱線などの
加熱体を内装した一対の回転加熱ローラ10,1
1からなる熱接着装置12、適宜の駆動機構によ
つて間欠的に回転して包材1,2を間欠的に下方
へ移送する間欠移送装置5、回転式のカツタ32
が順に具えられている。
また、熱接着装置12と間欠移送装置5との間
には超音波発生装置15が配置されている。この
超音波発生装置15は発振器22、増幅器23、
振動子24、ホーン部25、振動端子26からな
り、これらは包材1,2の表面に対して10〜30度
の角度を持つて配置されているとともに、支持杆
16に回動装置18を有する支持腕17を介して
回動自在に装着されている。回動装置18は機枠
Aに固定されたシリンダ19、ピストン20、連
結杆21とからなり、ピストン20の往復動によ
り超音波発振装置15を支持杆16を中心として
回動させるものである。そして、振動端子26は
包材1,2の横熱接着位置に配置されているとと
もに包材1,2を挟んだ反対側には機枠Aに設置
した押圧板30が配置されている。振動端子26
は台形に作られ、第3,4図に示すように両側面
が押圧面28,29を形成している。また、図面
中符号14は重ね合わせた包材1,2間に挿入し
て振動端子26の少し上方に下向きの開口部13
を位置させた内容物の充填ノズルである。
かかる製造装置を用いて本発明を実施するに
は、先ず、回動装置18を作動させて支持杆16
を中心として回動させて振動端子26を押圧板3
0より充分に退避させた状態とし、重ね合わされ
た包材1,2を間欠移送装置5によつて縦方向へ
間欠的に移送させる。そして、移送時に、包材
1,2の開放側縁6,7を熱接着装置12によつ
て連続的に熱接着して縦熱接着部8,9を形成す
る。
そして、縦熱接着部8,9が押圧板30の下部
に達したときに間欠移送装置5を停止させ、停止
時に回動装置18を作動させて超音波発振装置1
5を支持杆16を中心として回動させ振動端子2
6と押圧板30とで包材1,2を挟圧するととも
に超音波発振装置15に通電して包材1,2に斜
め方向の超音波振動を与えて包材1,2の内面に
配置されている熱接着層を溶融し、互いに接着さ
せて横熱接着部31を形成する。次に再び回動装
置18を作動させて振動端子26を押圧板30よ
り充分に退避させた状態とし、重ね合わされた包
材1,2を間欠移送装置5によつて縦方向へ間欠
的に所定の長さだけ移送させ、この間に充填ノズ
ル14により縦接着部8,9ならびに横接着部3
1により囲まれた包材1,2の部分、即ち包装用
の袋部分に内容物を充容する。このとき、内容物
は上端面が熱接着装置12よりも下位であるとと
もに押圧板30よりも上位であるようにする。そ
して、回動装置18を作動させて超音波発振装置
15を支持杆16を中心として回動させ振動端子
26と押圧板30とで包材1,2を挟圧するとと
もに超音波発振装置15に通電して包材1,2に
斜め方向の超音波振動を与えて包材1,2の熱接
着予定箇所に付着している内容物を上方の包材
1,2ならびに下方の包装物33内に移動させる
ことで取り除きながら内面に配置されている熱接
着層を溶融し、互いに接着させて横熱接着部31
を形成する。
このように、前記操作を繰返して連続している
包装物33とし、必要であればカツタ33により
横熱接着部31を中央部で切断して包装物単体3
4とする。
尚、本実施例では振動端子26は互いに対向す
る一対の押圧面28,29を有しており、一方が
磨耗した場合にはホーン部25を180度回転して
もう一方を使用することができる。
第5図は本発明を実施するための異なる製造装
置例を示すものであり、全体の構成は前記第1図
に示した実施例とほぼ同様であるが、押圧板30
が機枠Aに固定したシリンダ35に嵌挿されたピ
ストン36が嵌挿された進退装置37のピストン
36に連結されている点が異なる。従つて、前記
第1図に示した実施例のように超音波発生装置1
5を回動させることなく進退装置37によつて押
圧板30を直線動により大きく進退させて包材
1,2を振動端子26と協動し挟圧するものであ
り、超音波発生装置15を回動させる必要がなく
操作が簡単である。
第6図は本発明を実施するための更に異なる製
造装置例を示すものであり、全体の構成は前記製
造装置例とほぼ同様であるが、前記第1図に示し
た実施例のように超音波発生装置15が回動装置
18を具えているとともに前記第5図に示した製
造装置例のように押圧板30が進退装置37に連
結されている。従つて、回動装置18による超音
波発生装置15の回動或いは進退装置37による
押圧板30の進退、更にはそれらのそれらを同時
に行なつて包材1,2を振動端子26と押圧板3
0とによつて挟圧するものである。
[発明の効果] 以上の構成を有する本発明によれば、超音波振
動が熱接面に対して斜め方向に加えられるため、
充容の際に内容物が熱接着予定箇所に付着したと
しても、これらの内容物は接着面に対して平行な
振動成分によりきわめて容易に上方とならびに下
方へ移動して接着面から排除され同時に加えられ
る溶着面に対して直角な振動成分により接着面に
摩擦熱を有効に発生させるとともに接着面に対し
て平行な振動成分により生じる滑りを減少させ
る。
従つて、接着が迅速且つ確実で、包材ならびに
内容物に溶着熱による変質や劣化を生じさせない
ことは勿論のこと内容物が残存していない、完全
な接着が行なえ、また、振動端子などの機器の発
熱や損傷、滑りによる不快な高音の発生などもな
い。殊に熱接着箇所よりも上方まで粉体などの内
容物を充填した状態であつても超音波振動によつ
て熱接着箇所から下方へ突き固めるように落着か
せて接着が可能であり、内容物を少なめに充容す
るだけでなく〓間なく充容した包装物を製造する
こともできるという利点がある。

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 1 内面に熱接着性を有する帯状包材を重ね合わ
    せて縦方向へ間欠的に移送させ、移送時に前記包
    材の開放側縁に縦熱接着部を形成するとともに、
    停止時に超音波振動により横熱接着部を形成し、
    前記縦、横の熱接着部に囲まれた包材間に内容物
    を充容する操作を繰返す包装物の製造方法におい
    て、前記超音波振動が前記包材に対して斜め方向
    に加えられることを特徴とする包装物の製造方
    法。
