Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 [産業上の利用分野] 本発明はメタノールまたはエタノールなどのようなアル
コール系燃料を燃焼させるエンジン油の潤滑油組成物に
関する。
[従来技術] 771/コール燃料を燃焼させるエンジン例えハメタノ
ールエンジンでは、ギ酸のようなアルコールの酸化物や
水が発生し易い。これらは、ブローバイガスとしてクラ
ンクケース内に混入し、腐食や錆が発生し易い。またこ
れらの極性物質はエンジン各部の摩耗の原因になる。し
たがってエンジン油内に混入するギ酸を速やかに中和し
、不活性化する必要がある。この目的のために、従来の
エンジン油には炭酸カルシウムで過塩基化した清浄剤が
使用されている。しかし従来の過塩基性清浄剤ではギ酸
の中和性能が不充分であり、また、従来の過塩基性清浄
剤は使用中に粗粒化する傾向があり、問題があった。さ
らに、耐摩耗性も不充分であった。
[発明が解決しようとする課題] そこで本発明者等はこれらの問題を解決するため研究を
重ねた結果、アルカリ土類金属ホウ酸塩が優れた効果を
有することを見いだし、本発明を完成するに至った。
本発明は、従来の過塩基性清浄剤に比較して優れたギ酸
の中和性能および耐摩耗性を存し、かつ、使用中に粗粒
化する傾向のない過塩基性清浄剤を含有するアルコール
系燃料用エンジン油組成物を提供することを目的とする
[課題を解決する手段] すなわち、本発明は、潤滑油基油に、必須成分として、
アルカリ土類金属ホウ酸塩を組成物全量、M準で0.

2 0 cStである,、本発明のアルカリ土類金属,
J、つ酸塩は、一般l,(M O・xB□0、1て表さ
れるものである。式中、Mはアルカリ土類金属原子を示
し,、Xは0,5−・3、0の正数を示13、ン′ルカ
リ土類金属とt7ては、マグネシラノ・、、カルシウム
、バリウムなどがあげられるが、カルシウムが好ましい
。また、アルカリ土類金属ホウ酸塩の粒径は0,1μI
I+以ド、好ましくは0.05um以]ζであるのが望
まし,い。このアルカリ土類金属ホウ酸塩さしては、鈍
物4− を用いてもよいが、アルカリ土類金属ホウ酸塩で゛油溶
性金属塩を過塩基化させたもの(以ド、アルカリ土類金
属ホウ酸塩分散体とい・う)を用いでもよい。このアル
カリ土類金属ホウ酸塩分散体の,IIs  K2501
  5.2.3による全塩基価は100以上、好ましく
は、170以上であるのが望ましい。このアルカリ土類
金属ホウ酸塩分散体としては、油溶性のアルカリ土類金
属スルホネート、アルカリ土類金属サリシレ−1・、ア
ルカリ土類金属フェネート、アルカリ土類金属ホスボネ
ートなどの油溶性金属塩、アルカリ土類金属水酸化物ま
たは酸化物、ならびにホウ酸または無水ホウ酸を反応せ
しめて得られるものであ,って、油溶性金属塩としでは
、アルカリ土類金属サリシレートを用いるのが好ましい
,、アルカリ土類金属ホウ酸塩分散体の製造法は任意で
あるが、例えば、−1−配油溶性金属塩、アルカリ土類
金属水酸化物または酸化物、ならびにホウ酸または無水
ホウ酸を水メタノール、:l−タノール、プロパツール
、ブタノールなと゛のアルコ・−ル及びベンゼ/、l−
)し丁−/、4シI/ンなとの垢釈溶剤の存在−ド?’
20−200’Cで2〜8時間Jヌ応さゼ、つぎに1.
 O O〜・200゛Cに加熱して水および必要に応じ
てアルコ−・ルおよび希釈溶剤を除去するこきにより得
られる。
これらの詳細な反応条件は、原料、反応物の量等に応じ
゛ζ適宜選択される。なお、製造法の詳細については、
例えば特開昭80−11e[388号公報、同6 1−
204298月公報等に記載されている。、1−記方法
で製造されたアルカリ土類金属ホウ酸塩分散体の粒径は
通常0.il1m以ド、全塩基価は通常100以にとな
るので、好ましく用いられる。
このアルカリ土類金属ホウ酸塩の含有量は、組成物全量
基準で、0.0j〜10市量%、好まし。
くは0.05〜3重]且%、さらにはO、05〜・1重
h1%であることが必要である。含有量が0.(1)1
重量%に満たない場合には、効果がなく、含有量が10
市呈%を超λる場合には、硫酸灰が高くなり、好ましく
ない。
本発明の)′ルー1−ル系燃料川エンジン油組成物に対
して、さらにその優れた性能を亮めるため、必要に応じ
て公知の添加剤を使用することができる。この添加剤と
しては、たとえば、高級アルコール、高級脂肪酸、エス
テルなどの油性剤、l−Uクレジルホスフェート、トリ
フェニルホスフェート、ジチオリン酸亜鉛、二硫化モリ
ブデン、ジチオリン酸モリブデン、ジチオカルバミン酸
モリブデンなどの極圧剤、摩擦低減剤、石油スルホネー
ト、ジノニルナフタレンスルホネートなどの績止め剤、
ベンゾトリアゾールなどの金属不活性化剤、アルカリ土
類金属スルホネート、アルカリ土類金属サリシレート、
アルカリ土類金属フェネート、アルカリ土類金属ホスホ
ネートなどの金属系清浄剤、こはく酸イミド、こはく酸
エステル、ベンジルアミンなどの無灰分散剤、シリコー
ンなどの消泡剤、ポリメタクリレート、ポリイソブチレ
ン、ポリスチレンなどの粘度指数向上剤、流動点降下剤
、フェノール系、アミン系、ジチオ燐酸亜鉛などの酸化
防止剤などが挙げられ、これらを単独または2種以」二
組み合わせて添加することができる。粘度指数向上剤の
含有量は通常1〜30重量%、消泡剤の含有量は通常0
.0005〜1重量%、金属不活性化剤の含有量は通常
0.005〜1重量%、その他の添加剤の含有量は、そ
れぞれ通常0.1〜15重量%(いずれも組成物全量基
準)である。
本発明のアルコール系燃料用エンジン油組成物は、メタ
ノール、エタノール、プロパツールまたはこれらの混合
物、ならびにこれらのアルコールとガソリン、灯油、軽
油などの石油系燃料との混合物でアルコール含有量が1
0容量%以上のものなどを燃料とする、スパーク点火式
あるいは圧縮点火式のエンジンに好ましく使用できる。
[実施例コ 以下、本発明の内容を実施例および比較例によりさらに
具体的に説明するが、本発明はこれらの実施例に同等限
定されるものではない。
本発明の組成物のギ酸中和性能を調べるため、精製鉱油
(SAE30.10.0cSt 0100’C)にホウ
酸カルシウムで過塩基化した油溶性金属塩を所定量添加
したエンジン油組成物にギ酸を所定量投入し、30秒後
のpHを調べた。その結果を第1表に示す。また比較の
ため、ホウ酸カルシウムのかわりに炭酸カルシウムで過
塩基化した油溶性金属塩を上記鉱油に配合したものにつ
いても同様の試験を行い、その結果も第1表に併記した
〜 およ    、〜 本発明の組成物の耐摩耗性能を調べるため、精製鉱油(
SA、E ”1.0.4.3eSt O1,OOoC)
にホウ酸カルシウムで過塩基化した油溶性金属塩を2重
量%添加したボーンジン油糾成物につき高速4球試験(
条件:荷重30Rf、回転数120Orpm、試験時間
30mIn)を行った。その結果を第2表に示す。また
比較のため、ホ・り酸カルシラノ、のかわりに炭酸カル
シウムで過塩基化した油溶性金属塩を−1−記鉱油に同
量配合したもの(ごついても同様の試験を行い、その結
果も第2表に(j1記した。
11− 〜 ま5よ     〜 本発明の組成物の加水分解安定性を調べるため、精製鉱
油(SAE 10.4.3cSt、 O100°C)に
ホウ酸カルシウムで過塩基化した油溶性金属塩を15重
量%添加したエンジン油組成物につきASTM  D2
619に準拠して加水分解安定性試験を行った。ぞの結
果を第3表に示す。また比較のため、ホウ酸カルシウム
のかわりに炭酸カルシラノ・で過塩基化した油溶性金属
塩をL記鉱油に同量配合したものについても同様の試験
を行い、その結果も第3表に併記した。
[発明の効果コ 上記試験の結果から明らかなように、本発明のアルコー
ル系燃料用エンジン油組成物は、従来のアルコール系燃
料用エンジン油に比べてギ酸中和性、耐摩耗性、加水分
解安定性のいずれにおいても優れているものである。

  1. (1)潤滑油基油に、必須成分として、アルカリ土類金
    属ホウ酸塩を組成物全量基準で0.01〜10重量%含
    有せしめたことを特徴とするアルコール系燃料用エンジ
    ン油組成物。
