Hydrolysis is carried out by treatment for 30 minutes to 10 days while controlling the temperature at 130°C. Hydrochloric acid is removed from this hydrolyzate to obtain a hydrolyzate of conchiolin (sometimes this is simply called conchiolin).

When used in cosmetics, especially in emulsions, the emulsification may be broken, so further desalting is preferred.

It is clear that cosmetics containing both polysaccharides and polysaccharides are significantly superior in efficacy, safety, sensation, and stability compared to when they are blended separately. This is due to the combined effect of containing both of them, and as a result, it was possible to obtain a cosmetic that had not been previously available.
