Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 〔産業上の利用分野〕 本発明はフロッピーディスクに関する。
〔従来の技術〕
従来、フロッピーディスク内の有償ソフトウェアは、フ
ァイル単位の複写プロテクトはあるが、フロッピーディ
スク自体には複写をプロテクトするものはなく、複写ユ
ーティリティ等を使用し、簡単にフロッピーディスクの
内容をそっくり複写して使用することができた。
〔発明が解決しようとする課題〕
上述した従来のフロッピーディスク内のソフトウェアは
フロッピーディスクを選ばず簡単にバックアップできる
方式となっているので、利用者は販売者に無断でソフト
ウェアを複写して不正に使用することができるので、コ
ンピュータメーカーがソフトウェアを有償としても実際
にはその効果を挙げることができないという欠点がある
。
〔課題を解決するための手段〕
本発明のフロッピーディスクは、 アクセス可能な任意の位置にアクセスを妨げる物質で作
られた１個または複数個のシールが貼られ、 前記シールが貼られたことにより壊された不良セクタの
数、アドレスおよびビットパターンを障害認識情報とし
て記憶しており、 アクセスされたときに最初に起動され、壊された不良セ
クタの数、アドレスおよびビットパターンを読出し、あ
らかじめ記憶されている前記障害認識情報と照合して、
一致していれば以後のアクセスを可とし、一致していな
ければ以後のアクセスを不可とするソフトウェアを備え
ている。
０作　　用〕 フロッピーディスクがアクセスされたときに最初に起動
されるソフトウェアにより、壊された不良セクタの数、
アドレスおよびビットパターンが読出されて、あらかじ
め記憶されている障害認識情報と照合され、一致してい
なければ以後のアクセスが不可とされるので、フロッピ
ーディスクを複写して、その複写フロッピーディスクに
アクセスを妨げる物質で作られたシールを貼ってアクセ
スしても、該シールの位置かもとのフロッピーディスク
と全く一致することはあり得ないので、シールにより壊
された不良セクタの数、アドレスおよびビットパターン
が記憶されている障害認識Ｍ報と一致せず、以後のアク
セスができないので仔償ソフトウェアの不正使用が防止
される。
（実施例〕 次に、本発明の実施例について図面を参照して説明する
。
第１図は本発明のフロッピーディスクの一実施例の平面
図、第２図は第１図のフロッピーディスク１のＡ−Ａ線
縦断面図、第３図は第１図のフロッピーディスク１の不
良セクタから読出さゎた障害情報とあらかじめ記憶され
ている障害認識情報を照合するソフトウェアの処理フロ
ー図である。
フロッピーディスク１には、第１図および第２図に示す
ように、読出し可能な位置にフロッピーディスクへのア
クセスを妨げる物質で作られた１個のシール２があらか
じめ貼られて不良セクタが作られ、その不良セクタの数
１個と、そのアドレスと、そのビットパターンが読出さ
れて障害認識情報としてフロッピーディスク１に記憶さ
れ、その後に宥償ソフトウェアが記憶されている。フロ
ッピーディスク１およびフロッピーディスク１を複写し
て得られたフロッピーディスク内のソフトウェアを実行
しようとすると、第３図に示されたロジックを持ったソ
フトウェアが最初に起動され、フロッピーディスク上の
不良セクタから障害情報として不良セクタの数とそのア
ドレスとビットパターンを読出して（ステップ１１）、
あらかじめ記憶されている前記の障害認識情報と照合し
くステップ１２．１３）　、障害位置、すなわち不良セ
クタの数とアドレスが一致し、かつ障害ビットパターン
が一致していればフロッピーディスク上の有償ソフトウ
ェアに対してアクセスを許す（ステップ１４）。もし、
不良セクタが無いとか、不良セクタの位置が一致しない
ときや、障害ビットパターンが一致しないときは、以後
フロッピーディスクに対してアクセスできないようにす
る（ステップ＋５）。この場合、再びフロッピーディス
クをアクセスしても第１図に示されたロジックを持った
ソフトウェアだけが起動され、フロッピーディスク内の
有償ソフトウェアは実行されない。
本実施例では、表１に示すように、利用者Ａが自分で購
入したソフトウェアＸ（媒体となるフロッピーディスク
をＦｌとする。）を利用者Ｂの持つフロッピーディスク
Ｆ２へ複写して使用したとしても、フロッピーディスク
Ｆ２には前記のアクセスを妨げる物質で作られたシール
２が貼付されていないので障害情報が前記の障害認識情
報と一致しないためアクセスできない。もしフロッピー
ディスクＦ２に前記のシール２を貼付けたとしても、フ
ロッピーディスクＦ１と全く同じ位置に貼付けることは
不可能であり、ソフトウェアＸはフロッピーディスクＦ
２に複写されても実行することができない。したがって
、ソフトウェアＸはフロッピーディスクＦ１でのみ実行
が可能であるということである。
表１ 〔発明の効果〕 以上説明したように本発明は、フロッピーディスクのア
クセス可能な任意の位置にアクセスを妨げる物質で作ら
れたシールを貼り、該シールにより壊された不良セクタ
の数、アドレスおよびビットパターンを障害認識情報と
して記憶しておき、アクセスされたときに最初に起動さ
れ、壊された不良セクタの数、アドレスおよびビットパ
ターンを読出して萌記障害認識情報と照合して一致して
いなければ以後のアクセスを不可とするソフトウェアを
備えることにより、フロッピーディスクを複写してその
複写フロッピーディスクに前記シールを貼ってアクセス
しても、該シールの位置がもとのフロッピーディスクに
おける位置と全く一致することはあり得す、シールによ
って壊された不良セクタの数、アドレスおよびビットパ
ターンが記憶されている障害認識情報と一致せず以後の
アクセスが禁止されるので、有償ソフトウェアの不正使
用が防止できるという効果がある。

  1. 【特許請求の範囲】 １、フロッピーディスクにおいて、 アクセス可能な任意の位置にアクセスを妨げる物質で作
    られた１個または複数個のシールが貼られ、 前記シールが貼られたことにより壊された不良セクタの
    数、アドレスおよびビットパターンを障害認識情報とし
    て記憶しており、 アクセスされたときに最初に起動され、壊された不良セ
    クタの数、アドレスおよびビットパターンを読出し、あ
    らかじめ記憶されている前記障害認識情報と照合して、
    一致していれば以後のアクセスを可とし、一致していな
    ければ以後のアクセスを不可とするソフトウェアを備え
    たことを特徴とするフロッピーディスク。
