Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 〔産業上の利用分野〕 この発明は手動でバーコードを走査する手持光バーコー
ド・リーグに関する。
〔従来の技術〕
最近の小売店やスーノクーマケットに見られるチエツク
アウト・システムは購入商品に取付けられているラベル
のバーコード・ノ！ターンを走査する光走査システムを
含むチエツクアウト・カウンタの附近に配置されている
ＰＯＳターミナルを有する。
走査装置は商品の価格の発生に使用されるラベル上のコ
ード・データを表わす信号を発生する。あるチエツクア
ウト・システムでは手持バーコード・リーグが使用され
、チエツクが購入商品の近くにリーグを近ずけてその上
にあるバーコード・ラベルを容易に読むことができる。
〔発明が解決しようとする問題点〕
しかしながら、従来の手持バーコード・リーグは他方の
手に商品を持ちながら反対の手にバーコ−ド・リーグを
持ち、バーコード・ラベルを走査しなければならないと
いう欠点があった。そのため、チエツクアウト動作に時
間がかかった。そこで、商品取扱いのために両手を使用
しながらバーコード・リーグを使用することができるよ
うな方法の開発が望まれていた。
従って、この発明の目的はチェッカの腕の下に簡単に取
付けることができる手持光バーコード・リーダを提供し
て商品の取扱いを妨害することなく読取動作を早急にす
ることである。
この発明の他の目的は腕の下側に取付けられたバーコー
ド・リーグによって簡単に操作できる手持バーコード・
リーダを提供することである。
この発明の他の目的は構造簡単且つ低価格のバーコード
・リーグを提供することである。
〔問題点を解決するための手段〕
この発明は上記の問題点を、手持バーコード・リーグ金
腕の下に取付け、スイッチ手段を指に嵌めこむようにし
て両手をあけることにより解決した。そのため、この発
明によるバーコード・リーグを以下のように構成した。
すなわち、この発明による手持バーコード・リーグは前
方に走査ユニットと共に発光装置を取付けた長形容器を
含み、その前部から後部に延びる戊、平平坦部を含み、
その平坦部において該容器を腕に取付ける帯を有する。
オン／オフ・スイッチを有する指輪を人差指に取付け、
親指で該スイッチを押して商品上のバーコード・ラベル
を走査しうるようにする。バーコード・リーダの走置ユ
ニットは走査ビームを発生するレーザ・ダイオードを含
み、又リーダのガラス面に配置された集光鏡に取付けら
れた１対の反射鏡と、ダイオードから出力したレーザ・
ビームと、反対のリーダの軸附近に取付けられたモータ
の軸に取付けられた回転反射鏡の方に向けられたレーザ
・ビームを反射する反射鏡とｋＷむ。リーダの前部開口
の内側周辺に複数の転位鏡が取付けられ、回転鏡からの
光ビームを受光し、ラベルからの走置ノゼターン全有す
る走査ビームを投射する。コード・ラベルから反射した
光は転位鏡及び回転鏡を介して、モータ附近に取付けら
れたホトデテクタに光ビームを集光する集光鏡に再び導
かれる。ホトデテクタは走査した光ビームを電気信号に
変換して、容器の後部に置かれた送信機からリモート・
プロセッサに送信するリモート・ピックアップに送信さ
れ、デコードされ、そこで発生したデータを商品の価格
を読出すリモート・プライス・ルックアップ・テーブル
に送信する。リーグの上部平坦部にはデイスプレィが設
けられ、その走査動作がグツド・リードかパッド・リー
ドかを表わす情報をデイスプレィすることができる。
容器のハンドル部はリーダ、送信機及び電源の電子装置
を支持するための電気機を含む。又、リモート・プロセ
ッサにデータを電送することができるプラグイン・ソケ
ットを有する。
〔実施例〕
第１−は、リーグの取手２６で終る後方に姑ひる平坦部
２４から成る上部と前部２２とを営む長形容器２１全含
むこの発明の元バーコード・リーダ２０の斜視図である
。その前部２２は懐中電灯型容器（第２図）を形成する
取手２６のものより大きい直径を有し、走査方向に光ビ
ーム全投射する光源を有する。取手２６は電源２８と、
ラジオ発信機２９と、電気棚部材３０と、終端に走査鏡
３６が取付けられたドライブ軸３４を回転するドライブ
・モータ３２とを含む。軸３４にはレーデ３８が取付け
られ、それは受光ビームを容器の軸である第２の軸に沿
って第１の軸と平行に、及び走査鏡３６と反対方向に投
射する１対の転位鏡から成るレンズ部材４２の方向に第
１の軸にレーザ光ビーム４０を投射する。走査鏡３６の
回転はノ・ウジング２０の前部２２の内部周辺に取付け
られている複数の転位鏡４４において光ビーム全偏向す
る。この実施例では６ケの鏡が取付けられている。転位
鏡４４は走査鏡３６から受光した走ｆ元ビームを商品上
のコード・ラベルに偏向する。コード・ラベルから反射
した光はレンズ部材４２が取付けられている集光鏡４６
によって集光され、そのレンズ部材は反射光ビーム金ホ
トデテクタ４８に集光して電気信号に変換する。レンズ
部材４２及び集光鏡４６はリーグ２ｏの前部２２に取付
けられているガラス面部材５０（第２図）に取付けられ
る。ホトデテクタ４８から発生した電気信号は電気棚部
材３０の１つに取付けられている処理部材４９に送信さ
れ、電気信号をデコードしてリモート処理ユニット（図
に示していない）にあるルックアップ・テーブルをアド
レスするに使用されるデータを発生する。送信機２９は
そのｒ−夕をリモート・ピックアップに送信してそこか
ら史にリモート処理ユニットに送信する。容器２１の平
坦部２４はデイスプレィ・パネル５２金持ち、その走査
がグツド・リードかパッド・リードかを表わす情報をデ
イスプレィする。
第２図はデータ送信用ケーブルを接続するＷＪｌのシラ
ゲイン・ソケット５４を宮む光バーコード・リーグ２０
の側面図であり、−ｆ：の通信ケーブルはリーグの処理
部材４９．から発生したデータをプライス・ルックアッ
プ動作のためにリモート処理ユニットに送信し、リーグ
２０は更にリング７３（第５図）の形のリモート・スイ
ッチ部材に接続される第２のプラグイン・ソケット５６
を含み、バーコード・リーグを動作させるときに作動す
る。
バーコード・リーグ２ｏの前部２２の下端にはアタッチ
メント５８が取付けら−れ、帯部材６０（第４図）と共
に使用される。取手２６の後端には可聴信号を発生する
発音部６２が設けられ、コード・ラベルの読みがパッド
・ワードかグツド・リードかの表示を行う。
第３図は釉の端に取付けられている走査鏡３６と共に軸
３４７ａ：回転するモータ３２を含むこの発明の走査ユ
ニットを含む素子を示す略図である。
軸３４の附近にはレーデ・ダイオード部材３８とｒテク
タ部材４８とが堰付けられる。レーザ・ダイオード３８
から出力した平行非対称レーデ光ビーム４０は第１の軸
に沿って進み、そして元ビームを回転するべく一方向に
ビームを細長くするアナモルフィック・プリズム６４を
通して転位鏡６６．６８から成るし／ズ部材４２に送ら
れ、そのビームは更に容器２１の軸に沿い、鏡３６の面
に集光するフォーカス・レンズ７０全通して反対方向に
向けられる。鏡３６の回転は６枚の回転鏡４４において
走査光ビームを反射し、コード・ラベルを走査する複数
の走査ラインの形の走査光ビームを発生する。コード・
ラベルから反射した光ビームは凹面７２を有する集光鏡
４６の縦面によって集光され、デテクタ４８に向けられ
、鏡４６から受光したビームに対応する電気信号を発生
する。
第４図はチェッカの腕の下に取付けられたバーコード・
リーグを示し、それは帯６０によって腕に固定されるや
帯６０はアタッチメント５８（第２図）で容器２１に固
定される。リング部材７３（第５図）は人差指に取付け
られ、そこにはぎタン７４を持ち、親指で押されたとき
にバーコード・リーグが走査を行う。リング部材７３Ｖ
ｉプラグ７８を有する電線７６が取付けられ、バーコー
ド・リーグ２０のプラグ・ソケット５６に挿入されてリ
ングがバーコード・リーグの動作を制御できるようにす
る。
このように構成することによって、キャッシャの両手は
空き、両手で商品を処理できるのでチエツクアウト動作
が非常に速くなった。

ード・リーグの斜視図、 第２図は、帯接続と共にバーコード・リーグからのデー
タの転送と制御リングに接続されたプラグイン・ソケッ
トの位置を示すこの発明の光バーコード９・リーグの側
面図、 第３図は、光バーコード・リーグに接続された走査ユニ
ットから成る素子の模式図。 第４図は、帯で腕に取付けられた光バーコード・リーグ
と指に取付けられた制御リングとを示す描写図。 第５図は１人差指に取付けられ、親指で動作するオン／
オフ・スイッチから成る制御リングの斜視図である。 図中、２０・・・バーコード・リーグ、２１・・・長形

Claims (1)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. （１）前端及び後端を有し、第１の円筒部と該第１の円
    筒部より直径が大きい第２の円筒部とを含む長形容器部
    材と、 前記第２の円筒部に取付けられ、その附近に置かれた購
    入商品のコード・ラベルを走査する走査手段と、 前記第２の円筒部に取付けられ、チェッカの腕の下に前
    記容器部材を取付ける手段と、 前記容器部材から離して前記走査手段に接続され、前記
    チェッカの指で作動して前記走査手段を動作するスイッ
    チ手段とを含む手持光バーコード・リーダ。
