Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 産業上の利用分野 この発明は、容器、例えば流動性食品が収められるガラ
ス瓶のような容器の口縁部にヒートシール用積層材製蓋
の周縁部をヒートシールする装置に関する。
従来の技術 この種の装置は、一般に、熱盤で容器の口縁部に対し蓋
の周縁部を押圧するようにしている。
ところが、容器の口縁部に凹凸があると、凹凸のために
均一なシールを行うことができない。
そこで凹凸を吸収するために熱盤の下面をゴムのような
弾性体で被覆し、弾性体を介して蓋の周縁部を押圧する
ことも行われているが、弾性体は熱伝導性が悪いために
熱効率が悪く、熱盤で直接蓋の周縁部を押圧する場合と
比較して、熱盤をより高温に加熱しなければならない、
シール時間が余計に掛かるなどの問題点がある。
上記の問題点を解決する装置として、上記弾性体の下面
を金属薄板で被覆し、金属薄板を熱盤と熱的に接触させ
たもの(例えば特公昭62−31373号公報参照)や
、同金属薄板を弾性体内に埋め込むようにしたものが知
られている。
発明が解決しようとする課題 上記従来の装置のうち、弾性体の下面を金属薄板で被覆
したものは、シール作業の繰返しによって金属薄板が破
れるなど金属薄板の耐久性に難がある。
また、金属薄板を弾性体内に埋め込んだものは、やはり
熱効率上の問題点がある。
この発明の目的は、上記問題点を解決した容器への蓋の
ヒートシール装置を提供することにある。
課題を解決するための手段 この発明による容器への蓋のヒートシール装置は、容器
の口縁部に、これに被せられかつアルミニウム箔を有す
るヒートシール用積層材製蓋の周縁部をヒートシールす
る装置であって、容器の口縁部に対し蓋の周縁部を押圧
する押圧手段と、蓋の周縁部を加熱する加熱手段とを備
えており、加熱手段が、容器搬送コンベヤの搬送経路に
そってその搬送方向に順次配置されている予備加熱ヒー
タおよび本加熱ヒータよりなり、予備加熱ヒータが高周
波誘導加熱装置であるものである。
作  用 容器に被せられている蓋は、コンベヤで搬送される間に
予備加熱ヒータおよび本加熱ヒータによって順次加熱さ
れる。したがって、ヒートシールのための加熱を2段階
に行うようにしているにもかかわらず、ヒートシール時
間が余分に掛かることもない。
高周波誘導加熱装置は、蓋の周縁部を短時間で効率良く
加熱し、容器に収められた内容物は加熱されることがな
い。
実  施  例 この発明の実施例を図面を参照してつぎに説明する。
容器搬送コンベヤ11は、ガラス瓶のような剛性容器C
Iを、プレスステーション81.キャッピングステーシ
ョンS2、予備加熱ステーションS3およびシールステ
ーションS4を順次経由して搬送するものである。
プレスステーションStでは図示しないプレスによって
、例えば厚み40〜60μのアルミニウム箔の両面にポ
リエチレン層を形成した積層材製蓋材から皿状の蓋C2
が成形され、蓋C2はつぎのキャッピングステーション
S2で容器CIに被せられる。
予備加熱ステーションS3には高周波誘導加熱装置12
が配置され、シールステーションS4には昇降シールヘ
ッド14が配置されている。また、予備加熱ステーショ
ンS3からシールステーション84手前にかけて横断面
逆U字状の保温トンネル14が容器移動経路をまたぐよ
うに設けられている。
高周波誘導加熱装置12は、一般に良く知られたもので
あって、保温トンネル14内において容器移動経路上方
に位置しかつ容器搬送方向に水平に配置されている高周
波コイル21と、これに高周波電流を送る高周波発信器
22とを有している。
シールヘッド13は、第3図に詳しく示すように、図示
しない手段によって昇降させられる押圧部材31と、こ
れの底部中央に配されている凸盤32と、これの下面周
縁部を被覆している環状の弾性体33と、弾性体33の
周縁部に下側から係止した内方突出部34gを有しかつ
押圧部材31の下面に固定されている取付は部材34と
よりなる。
容器C1に被せられたMC2はトンネル14内を通過す
る間に高周波誘導加熱装置12によって予熱される。そ
の予熱温度は、40〜200℃、好ましくは60〜90
℃である。ついで容器C1およびMC2がシールヘッド
13の下方まで搬送されると、シールヘッド13を降下
させてシールヘッド13で例えば2秒間程度容器CIの
口縁部に対し蓋C2の周縁部を押圧しかつ加熱する。こ
のときの加熱温度は例えば240℃である。
発明の効果 この発明によれば、蓋を予備加熱ヒータおよび本加熱ヒ
ータで加熱するようにしているから、本加熱ヒータで加
熱不足があるような場合でもこれを予備加熱ヒータで補
うことができる。
さらに、加熱を予備加熱および本加熱の2段階に分けて
行うようにしているにもかかわらず、その加熱は容器お
よびこれに被せられた蓋をコンベヤで搬送する間に行う
ようにしているから、ヒートシール時間が余分にかかる
ことがない。
また、予備加熱ヒータが高周波誘導加熱装置であるから
、蓋の周縁部のみを効率良く加熱することができ、容器
の内容物に悪影響を及ぼすことがない。゛

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 容器C1の口縁部に、これに被せられかつアルミニウム
    箔を有するヒートシール用積層材製蓋C2の周縁部をヒ
    ートシールする装置であって、容器C1の口縁部に対し
    蓋C2の周縁部を押圧する押圧手段と、蓋C2の周縁部
    を加熱する加熱手段とを備えており、加熱手段が、容器
    搬送コンベヤ11の搬送経路にそってその搬送方向に順
    次配置されている予備加熱ヒータおよび本加熱ヒータよ
    りなり、予備加熱ヒータが高周波誘導加熱装置12であ
    る、容器への蓋のヒートシール装置。
