Claims (34)
- 医用機器を展開するための拡張性シースであって、
第1のポリマー層と、
前記第1のポリマー層の径方向外方の編組層であって、編み合わされた複数のフィラメントを備える編組層と、
前記編組層の径方向外方の弾性層であって、前記編組層および前記第1のポリマー層に対して径方向力を印加するように構成される弾性層と、
前記弾性層の径方向外方の第2のポリマー層であって、前記編組層および前記弾性層が前記第1のポリマー層と前記第2のポリマー層との間に包被されるように前記第1のポリマー層に対して結合される、第2のポリマー層と
を備え、
前記編組層の前記複数のフィラメントは、医用機器が前記シースを通過するとき、前記編組層が径方向に拡張するように構成されるように、前記第1のポリマー層と前記第2のポリマー層との間において可動であり、
医用機器が前記シースを通過するときに、前記シースの直径が、前記医用機器の周囲において第1の直径から第2の直径へと拡張するとともに、前記第1のポリマー層および前記第2のポリマー層は、前記シースの長さが実質的に一定に保たれるように前記シースの軸方向伸長に抵抗し、

前記第1のポリマー層および前記第2のポリマー層が相互に結合し、前記編組層および前記弾性層を包被することにより拡張性シースを形成するように、前記第1のポリマー層、前記編組層、前記弾性層、および前記第2のポリマー層に対して熱および圧力を印加するステップと、
前記弾性層により印加される径方向力の下で前記第1の直径未満である第2の直径へと前記拡張性シースを少なくとも部分的に径方向に収縮させ得るように、前記マンドレルから前記拡張性シースを外すステップと、
前記シースが前記第2の直径へと径方向に収縮されるときに、前記編組層の前記フィラメントを弾性的に座屈するステップと

- 前記拡張性シースをクリンプするステップは、複数の径方向に配置されたディスク形状ローラに前記シースの端部を接触させるステップと、前記複数のディスク形状ローラに通して前記シースを前進させるステップと、前記ディスク形状ローラが前記シースの外方表面に沿って転動するときに各ディスク形状ローラの円形エッジからの圧力によって前記第3のクリンプ時直径へと前記シースを圧縮するステップとを含む、請求項26に記載の方法。
