Description
<セミメタリック摩擦材>
繊維基材としてスチール繊維を摩擦材組成物全量に対して30重量%以上60重量%未満含有する摩擦材。
<ロースチール摩擦材>
繊維基材の一部にスチール繊維を含み、且つ、スチール繊維を摩擦材組成物全量に対して30重量%未満含有する摩擦材。
<NAO(Non-Asbestos-Organic)材>
繊維基材としてスチール繊維やステンレス繊維等のスチール系繊維を含まない摩擦材。
特許文献1には、結合剤、有機充填材、無機充填材および繊維基材を含む摩擦材組成物であって、該摩擦材組成物中に元素としての銅を含まない、または銅の含有量が0.5質量%以下であり、 繊維長が2500μm以下のスチール繊維を2~5質量%含有する摩擦材組成物および該摩擦材組成物を成形してなる摩擦材が記載されている。
摩擦材にはブレーキ効きを確保するため、有機摩擦調整材としてカシューダストが添加されている。
高速制動によりディスクロータの摩擦面の温度が高温になると、摩擦材に含まれるカシューダストが熱分解し、タール状物を生成する。このタール状物がディスクロータの摩擦面に不均一に移着し、被膜を形成する。そして、高速制動を繰り返すことによりディスクロータの摩擦面の温度が更に上昇する。
このときディスクロータの摩擦面のうち、移着したタール状物の被膜の特に厚い部分が高温になって熱膨張し、ディスクロータの摩擦面に肉厚差が生じる。
また、摩擦材が蓄熱することで、摩擦材の摩擦面も不均一に膨張するため、ディスクロータと摩擦材との当たりが不均一となりブレーキ振動が発生する。
(2)前記摩擦材組成物は潤滑材として弾性黒鉛化カーボンを摩擦材組成物全量に対し1~4重量%含む前記(1)に記載の摩擦材。
結合材の一部としてシリコーンゴム変性フェノール樹脂を添加することにより、摩擦材の圧縮歪量を大きくすることができる。そして、ディスクロータの摩擦面に肉厚差が生じた場合でも、摩擦材の圧縮歪量が大きいと摩擦材がその肉厚差に追従するため、当たりが均一となりブレーキ振動を抑制することができる。
結合材の含有量が5重量%未満であると十分な耐摩耗性が得られず、結合材の含有量が9重量%を超えると十分な耐フェード性が得られなくなる。
有機摩擦調整材であるカシューダストの添加量を比較的少なくすることにより、高速制動時のタール状物の生成を最低限に抑えながら、良好なブレーキ効きを得ることができる。
カシューダストの添加量が1重量%未満であると、ブレーキ効きが不十分となり、カシューダストの添加量が4重量%を超えると、高速制動時にタール状物がディスクロータの摩擦面に不均一に移着し、ブレーキ振動が発生しやすくなる。
無機摩擦調整材である平均粒子径が15~40μmの溶融シリカと、平均粒子径が10~30μmの電融ケイ酸ジルコニウムビーズを特定量添加することにより、相手材の摩擦面を過度に研削することなく摩擦面に形成されるタール状物の被膜を適度にクリーニングすることができ、タール状物の不均一な移着に起因するブレーキ振動の発生を防止することができる。
また、電融ケイ酸ジルコニウムビーズは、結晶質ジルコニアと非結晶質酸化硅素を電融法により融解して製造されたビーズ状のケイ酸ジルコニウムである。電融ケイ酸ジルコニウムビーズとしては、サンゴバン社のマイクロブラストシリーズ等を使用することができる。
さらに、本発明では潤滑材として弾性黒鉛化カーボンを摩擦材組成物全量に対し1~4重量%添加するのが好ましい。
本発明の摩擦材は、上記の結合材、カシューダスト、平均粒子径が15~40μmの溶融シリカ、平均粒子径が10~30μmの電融ケイ酸ジルコニウムビーズ、弾性黒鉛化カーボンのほかに、通常摩擦材に使用される繊維基材、潤滑材、有機摩擦調整材、無機摩擦調整材、pH調整材、充填材等を含む摩擦材組成物から成る。
繊維基材の含有量は摩擦材組成物全量に対して1~5重量%とするのが好ましく、1.5~3重量%とするのがより好ましい。
有機摩擦調整材の含有量は上記のカシューダストを合わせて摩擦材組成物全量に対して2~7重量%とするのが好ましく、3~5重量%とするのがより好ましい。
潤滑材の含有量は上記の弾性黒鉛化カーボンと合わせて摩擦材組成物全量に対して5~13重量%とするのが好ましく、7~11重量%とするのがより好ましい。
pH調整材は、摩擦材組成物全量に対して1~5重量%とするのが好ましく、2~4重量%とするのがより好ましい。
表1、表2、表3、表4に示す組成の摩擦材組成物をレディゲミキサーにて5分間混合し、成型金型内で30MPaにて10秒間加圧して予備成型をした。この予備成型物を、予め洗浄、表面処理、接着材を塗布した鋼鉄製のバックプレート上に重ね、熱成型型内で成型温度150℃、成型圧力40MPaの条件下で10分間成型した後、200℃で5時間熱処理(後硬化)を行い、研磨して摩擦面を形成し、乗用車用ディスクブレーキパッドを作製した(実施例1~19、比較例1~14)。
JASO C406 「乗用車ブレーキ装置ダイナモメータ試験方法」に準拠し、第2効力試験の車速130km/h、減速度0.3Gにおける摩擦係数の平均値を下記基準にて評価した。
優 : 0.40以上
良 : 0.37以上 0.40未満
可 : 0.34以上 0.37未満
不可 : 0.34未満
JASO C406 「乗用車-ブレーキ装置-ダイナモメータ試験方法」に準拠し、第1フェード試験での最少摩擦係数を計測し、下記基準で評価した。
優 : 0.30以上
良 : 0.25以上 0.30未満
可 : 0.20以上 0.25未満
不可 : 0.20未満
JASO C402 「乗用車用常用ブレーキ実車試験」に準拠し、フェード試験時の異音・振動を確認し、下記基準にて評価した。
優 : 発生なし
良 : 微弱発生
可 : 発生するが気にならない。
不可 : 発生大
JASO C427 「自動車-ブレーキライニング及びディスクブレーキパッド-ダイナモメータ摩耗試験方法」に準拠し、制動初速度50km/h、制動減速度0.3G、制動回数適宜、制動前ブレーキ温度200℃の条件で、摩擦材の摩耗量(mm)を測定し、制動回数1000回あたりの摩耗量に換算後、下記基準にて評価した。
優 : 0.15mm未満
良 : 0.15mm以上 0.20mm未満
可 : 0.20mm以上 0.50mm未満
不可 : 0.50mm以上
JASO C402 「乗用車常用ブレーキ実車試験方法」に準拠し、実車鳴き試験を行い、ブレーキの鳴き発生率を求め、下記基準にて評価した。
優 : 0%
良 : 0%を超え 5%未満
可 : 5%以上 10%未満
不可 : 10%以上
Claims (2)
- ディスクブレーキパッドに使用される、結合材、繊維基材、有機摩擦調整材、無機摩擦調整材、潤滑材を含み、銅成分を含まないNAO材の摩擦材組成物を成型した摩擦材において、
前記摩擦材組成物は、
結合材を摩擦材組成物全量に対し5~9重量%含有するとともに、結合材の一部としてシリコーンゴム変性フェノール樹脂を摩擦材組成物全量に対し1~4重量%含有し、さらに、
有機摩擦調整材としてカシューダストを摩擦材組成物全量に対し1~4重量%と、
無機摩擦調整材として平均粒子径が15~40μmの溶融シリカを摩擦材組成物全量に対し0.5~3重量%と、
無機摩擦調整材として平均粒子径が10~30μmの電融ケイ酸ジルコニウムビーズを摩擦材組成物全量に対し0.1~2重量%とを
含むことを特徴とする摩擦材。 - 前記摩擦材組成物は、潤滑材として弾性黒鉛化カーボンを摩擦材組成物全量に対し1~4重量%含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の摩擦材。
