Description
図1に示される基本的構成を有する窓ガラスを形成した。当該透過制御層は、図2に示される基本的構成を有した。当該透過制御層の第一シートおよび第二シートのそれぞれは、0.7mmの厚さ、500mmの幅、および750mmの長さを有する無アルカリアルミノケイ酸ガラスシートであった。当該液晶層は、8.5μmの厚さを有した。当該第一パネルおよび当該第二パネルのそれぞれは、4mmの厚さ、506mmの幅、および754mmの長さを有する、アニール処理された(例えば、強化されていない)ソーダ石灰ガラスシートであった。当該第一パネルおよび第二パネルを、0.76mmの厚さのPVB接着剤によって当該透過制御層に接着した。
窓ガラスを、当該窓ガラスが非対称な構成を有するように第二パネルを省略した以外、実施例1において説明したとおりに形成した。
第一ガラスシートと、第二ガラスシートと、当該第一ガラスシートと当該第二ガラスシートとの間に配置された液晶材料とを含む透過制御層であって、当該第一ガラスシートおよび当該第二ガラスシートのそれぞれが、約1mm以下の厚さを有する、透過制御層と、
当該透過制御層の当該第一ガラスシートに接着された第一パネルと、
当該透過制御層の当該第二ガラスシートに接着された第二パネルと
を含み、
当該透過制御層が、当該第一パネルと当該第二パネルの間に配置され、
当該液晶材料が、窓ガラスの透過率を調節するために制御可能である、
窓ガラス。
反りが、40mmの長さあたり約0.02mm以下である、実施形態1に記載の窓ガラス。
幅が約500mm以上であり、
長さが約750mm以上である、
実施形態2に記載の窓ガラス。
上記第一ガラスシートおよび上記第二ガラスシートのそれぞれが、フュージョン形成されたガラスシートである、実施形態1から3のいずれか1つに記載の窓ガラス。
上記第一パネルが、第一接着剤層によって上記透過制御層の上記第一ガラスシートに接着され、
上記第二パネルが、第二接着剤層によって当該透過制御層の上記第二ガラスシートに接着される、
実施形態1から4のいずれか1つに記載の窓ガラス。
上記第一接着剤層および上記第二接着剤層のそれぞれが、紫外(UV)光を遮断するポリマー性接着剤を含む、実施形態5に記載の窓ガラス。
上記透過制御層の上記第一ガラスシートおよび上記第二ガラスシートが、間にセルを形成するようにお互いに対して実質的に平行に配置されかつお互いから離間され、上記液晶材料が、当該セル内に配置される、実施形態1から6のいずれか1つに記載の窓ガラス。
上記セルが、約25μm以下の厚さを有する、実施形態7に記載の窓ガラス。
上記セルが、約6μmから約10μmの厚さを有する、実施形態8に記載の窓ガラス。
上記第一ガラスシートおよび上記第二ガラスシートのそれぞれが、約0.5mmから約0.7mmの厚さを有する、実施形態1から9のいずれか1つに記載の窓ガラス。
上記第一パネルおよび上記第二パネルのそれぞれが、約3mm以上の厚さを有する、実施形態1から10のいずれか1つに記載の窓ガラス。
上記第一パネルおよび上記第二パネルのそれぞれが、約4mmから約6mmの厚さを有する、実施形態11に記載の窓ガラス。
上記第一パネルおよび上記第二パネルのそれぞれが、ガラスパネルである、実施形態1から12のいずれか1つに記載の窓ガラス。
上記第一パネルまたは上記第二パネルの少なくとも一方が、強化されたガラスパネルである、実施形態13に記載の窓ガラス。
上記第一パネルおよび上記第二パネルのそれぞれが、強化されたガラスパネルである、実施形態14に記載の窓ガラス。
上記透過制御層が、
上記第一ガラスシートと上記液晶材料との間に配置された第一導電層と、
上記第二ガラスシートと当該液晶材料との間に配置された第二導電層と、
を含む、実施形態1から15のいずれか1つに記載の窓ガラス。
上記透過制御層が、
上記第一ガラスシートと上記液晶材料との間に配置された第一配向層と、
上記第二ガラスシートと当該液晶材料との間に配置された第二配向層と
を含む、実施形態1から16のいずれか1つに記載の窓ガラス。
上記液晶材料が、高分子分散型液晶(PDLC)材料、ゲストホスト液晶材料、コレステリック液晶材料、キラル液晶材料、ネマチック液晶材料、またはそれらの組み合わせを含む、実施形態1から17のいずれか1つに記載の窓ガラス。

窓ガラスの透過率を調節するために制御可能である透過制御材料を含む透過制御層と、
当該透過制御層の第一外側表面に接着された第一パネルと、
当該透過制御層の第二外側表面に接着された第二パネルと、
を含み、
当該第一パネルおよび当該第二パネルのそれぞれが、約4mmから約6mmの厚さを有するガラスパネルであり、
反りが、40mmの長さあたり約0.02mm以下である、
窓ガラス。
上記透過制御材料が、フォトクロミック材料、エレクトロクロミック材料、液晶材料、またはそれらの組み合わせを含む、実施形態21に記載の窓ガラス。
実施形態1から22のいずれか1つに記載の窓ガラスと、
第三パネルと、
キャビティが当該窓ガラスと当該第三パネルとの間に配置され、スペーサーによって実質的に囲まれるように、当該窓ガラスと当該第三パネルとの間に配置されたスペーサーと
を含む断熱ガラスユニット。
上記第三パネルが、約3mm以上の厚さを有する、実施形態23に記載の断熱ガラスユニット。
上記第三パネルが、約4mmから約6mmの厚さを有する、実施形態24に記載の断熱ガラスユニット。
上記第三パネルがガラスパネルである、実施形態23から25のいずれか1つに記載の断熱ガラスユニット。
上記第三パネルが、強化されたガラスパネルである、実施形態26に記載の断熱ガラスユニット。
上記第三パネルが、ラミネートされたガラスパネルである、実施形態26に記載の断熱ガラスユニット。
さらに、上記第三パネルの表面上に低放射率コーティングを含む、実施形態23から28のいずれか1つに記載の断熱ガラスユニット。

Claims (14)
- 第一ガラスシートと、第二ガラスシートと、該第一ガラスシートと該第二ガラスシートとの間に配置されたセルと、を備え、該セルが液晶材料を含み、該セルの厚さが20μm以下であり、該第一ガラスシートおよび該第二ガラスシートのそれぞれが、1mm以下の厚さを有する透過制御層と、
該透過制御層の該第一ガラスシートに接着された第一パネルと、
該透過制御層の該第二ガラスシートに接着された第二パネルと
を含み、
前記第一パネルおよび前記第二パネルが、等しい厚さを有し、
前記第一パネルおよび前記第二パネルが、4mmから6mmの厚さを有するガラスパネルを含み、
該透過制御層が、該第一パネルと該第二パネルの間に配置され、
該液晶材料が、窓ガラスの透過率を調節するために制御可能であり、
前記液晶材料が、高分子分散型液晶(PDLC)材料、ゲストホスト液晶材料、キラル液晶材料、またはそれらの組み合わせを含み、
前記窓ガラスの反りが、40mmの長さあたり0.02mm以下であり、

- 前記第一ガラスシートおよび前記第二ガラスシートのそれぞれが、0.5mmから0.7mmの厚さを有する、請求項1から5のいずれか一項記載の窓ガラス。
- 前記第一パネルおよび前記第二パネルのそれぞれが、3mm以上の厚さを有する、請求項1から6のいずれか一項記載の窓ガラス。
- 前記第一パネルおよび前記第二パネルのそれぞれが、ガラスパネルである、請求項1から7のいずれか一項記載の窓ガラス。
- 前記透過制御層が、
前記第一ガラスシートと前記液晶材料との間に配置された第一導電層と、
前記第二ガラスシートと該液晶材料との間に配置された第二導電層と、
を含む、請求項1から8のいずれか一項記載の窓ガラス。 - 前記透過制御層が、
前記第一ガラスシートと前記液晶材料との間に配置された第一配向(alignment layer)層と、
前記第二ガラスシートと該液晶材料との間に配置された第二配向層と、
を含む、請求項1から9のいずれか一項記載の窓ガラス。 - 前記透過制御層の厚さが、1.5mm以下である、請求項1から10のいずれか一項記載の窓ガラス。
- 請求項1から11のいずれか一項に記載の窓ガラスと、
第三パネルと、
キャビティが該窓ガラスと該第三パネルとの間に配置され、スペーサーによって実質的に囲まれるように、該窓ガラスと該第三パネルとの間に配置されたスペーサーと
を含む断熱ガラスユニット。 - 前記第三パネルの表面上には、低放射率コーティングを含む、請求項12に記載の断熱ガラスユニット。
