本発明の実施形態で使用するための式1の化合物は、以下のように調製される。
本発明のFT安定剤の最小フィルム形成温度(MFFT)を測定し、比較FT安定剤および一般的な合体剤UCAR(商標)フィルマーIBT(The Dow Chemical Company)の最小フィルム形成温度と比較する。これらの化合物がスチレン-アクリル系バインダー(PRIMAL(商標)DC-420)の最小フィルム形成温度を下げる能力を評価する。
比較FT安定剤と比較して、本発明のFT安定剤の性能を評価するために、3つの塗料配合物(水性コーティング組成物のタイプ)が、調製される。塗料配合物は、40%~80%の範囲で、顔料体積濃度(「PVC」)が異なる。さらに、2つの配合物は、建築用内装塗料用であり、1つは、建築用外装塗料用である。3つの配合物を、以下の表2~4に示す。凍結融解安定剤(FT安定剤)は、本発明のコーティング組成物のための本発明のFT安定剤、および比較のコーティング組成物のための比較のFT安定剤である。
表2および4の建築用内装塗料の凍結融解安定性は、GB/T-9268-2008に従って測定される。塗料サンプルを、冷凍庫に-5℃(±2℃)で18時間入れる。次いで、塗料サンプルを取り出し、室温で6時間放置する。この手順は、各塗料サンプルに対して3サイクル繰り返される。サンプルを、100回撹拌して舌圧子を用いて手で剪断し、粘度(クレブス単位またはKU)は、3サイクルまたは5サイクル後に測定される。これらのコーティング組成物の標的KUは、95~105であるため、コーティング組成物のKUが、一晩この範囲外である場合、試験の前に水または増粘剤を添加することによって、KUを調整する。この試験の結果を、表5および6に示す。表5は、40%PVC(表2によるコーティング組成物から作製された)での建築用内装塗料の結果を提供し、表6は、80%PVC(表4によるコーティング組成物から作製された)での建築用内装塗料の結果を提供する。
コーティング組成物のスクラブ耐性も評価される。スクラブ耐性は、塗装層の緻密化および微粉化の全体的な指標である。スクラブ耐性は、ASTM試験方法D 2486-74Aを使用して測定される。塗料のドローダウンは、150ミクロンのフィルムアプリケーターで黒いビニールのスクラブチャートに作製される。チャートは、23℃(±2℃)、50%相対湿度(±5%)で7日間乾燥させる。チャートは、スクラブマシンに配置され、Type SC-2研磨スクラブ媒体を使用してスクラブされる。第1の切断および横断サイクルが、記録される。
本発明のFT安定剤で作製された塗料の長期貯蔵安定性も評価される。熱貯蔵安定性を評価するために、塗料を、50℃のオーブンに10~14日間入れる。塗料の外観を確認する。さらに、粘度が測定される。
Claims (7)
- 前記化合物が、500~6000の分子量を有する、請求項1に記載のコーティング組成物。
- 少なくとも1つの造膜助剤をさらに含む、請求項1または請求項2に記載のコーティング組成物。
- 前記水性ポリマー分散体が、アクリルポリマーを含む、請求項1~3のいずれかに記載のコーティング組成物。
- 1つ以上のバインダーをさらに含む、請求項1~4のいずれかに記載のコーティング組成物。
- 前記ポリマー分散体の固形分の重量に基づいて、0.1~10重量パーセントの式1が、添加される、請求項6に記載の方法。
