(コアの安定化)
本発明のホットメルト組成物は、使い捨て吸収性物品の吸収性コアを収容し、かつ/又は強度を与えるために使用することもできる(すなわち、コアの安定化)。
ホットメルト組成物は、弾性複合材料を形成し、使い捨て吸収性物品に伸縮性を持たせるために使用することができる。
ホットメルト組成物は、更に構造用途に使用することができる。使い捨て吸収性物品の製造における一般的な構造用途では、体液不透性のバックシートが不織布基材に結合される。他の構造用途では、不織布基材が不織布基材に結合される。また、ホットメルト組成物は、吸収剤、薄織物、エラストマー材料、超吸収性ポリマー、及びこれらの組み合わせからなる群から選択される少なくとも1つの追加の層又は材料を結合するために使用することもできる。例えば、ホットメルト組成物は、使い捨て物品の肌触りを向上させるために体液不透性のバックシート、一般的にポリオレフィンフィルム(例えば、ポリエチレン、ポリプロピレン、エチレン酢酸ビニル、エチレンコポリマー等)が第2の不織布に結合される、バックシートの積層物に更に使用することができる。
実施例において、また、本明細書の全体を通じて用いられる試験手順は、特に断らない限りは以下のものを含む。
ホットメルトの試料を、バッチサイズが5000グラム(g)のシグマブレードミキサで調製した。177℃前後の加熱油温度を使用した。ポリマー及び添加剤を最初に添加し、滑らかになるまでブレンドした後、ワックスを小分けして添加した。混合物を均質になるまで混合し、次いで、取り出した。各試料は、生成に約1時間を要した。
粘度は、表題が「Standard Test Method for Apparent viscosity of Adhesives and Coating Materials」であるASTM D-3236(1988年10月31日)に従って、BrookfieldのモデルRVDV2、スピンドル番号27のThermosel粘度計を用いて測定した。結果はセンチポアズ(cP)で報告される。
0.127~0.305センチメートル(cm)(0.05~0.12インチ)の厚さ、2.54cm(1インチ)のゲージ長さ、0.318cm(0.125インチ)のゲージ幅の各ホットメルト組成物の亜鈴型被検査物を、176.7℃(350°F)で溶融した試料を5キログラム(kg)超の重量で圧縮し、室温まで冷却することによって調製された試料の薄フィルムからの鋳型で切断した。
4.99重量キログラム(kgf)(11重量ポンド(lbf))のロードセルを備えたインストロン5542ベンチトップユニットを使用して、室温での引張特性を決定した。クロスヘッド速度を30.48cm/分(12インチ/分)に設定した。各試料の少なくとも3つの亜鈴を試験した。引張力及びクロスヘッド変位を記録し、試料が破損したとき、又は器具の限界が25.4cm(10インチ)のクロスヘッド変位に達したときに終了した。初期の試料ゲージ長さにわたってクロスヘッド変位を取り、最大引張応力を記録することによって、極限伸を計算した。試験した被検査物の間で、両方の値を平均した。
7.62cm(3インチ)幅クシ目調スロットコーティング塗布器、及び積層器を、154℃の塗布温度、103.4キロパスカル(15psi)のニップ圧力、25g/m2の塗布重量に設定し、最小の巻き戻し並びにほどけ張力を、フィルムを伸張させないように使用した。ホットメルト接着剤組成物を、ウェブが毎分173.7メートル(m/分)~192.0m/分の速度で塗布器を通過する際に、8g/m2の坪量を有する不織布1上で、25g/m2のコート重量で連続的に塗布した。次いで、10g/m2の坪量を有し、不織布1のウェブと同じ速度で移動する不織布2を、接着剤組成物及び不織布1のウェブに対して適所にニップして積層体を形成する。その後、積層体を、コーティング機の機械方向に垂直な横断方向(cross direction、CD)に沿って、幅5.1cm(2インチ)のストリップとして切断する。
動的剥離は、試験が毎分30.5センチメートル(毎分12インチ)で10秒間行われ、4つの複製が行われた点以外は、表題が「Test Method for Determining Peel Resistance of Adhesive(T-Peel Test Method)」であるASTM D1876-01に従って決定された。試料は、IMASS Spec型試験機で試験された。特に断らない限り、試験の試料は、上記の「試料調製試験法」で述べたのと同様にして調製された。試料を、機械コーティング横断方向に沿って剥離した。10秒間の剥離にわたって平均の剥離力の値を記録し、結果を重量グラム/インチ(gf/in)で報告した。初期動的剥離力の値は、試料を調製してから24時間後に測定した値である。4つの複製を試験し、平均値を重量グラム/インチ(gf/in)の単位で報告した。
不織布1(坪量=8グラム/平方メートル(gsm)、幅=165)、Avgol Ltd.(Mocksville,NC)から入手可能。
Claims (16)
- ホットメルト組成物であって、
15重量%~60重量%のスチレンブロックコポリマーと、
15重量%~75重量%の、45℃~90℃の凝固点(ASTM D938)を有するワックスと、
10重量%以下の液体可塑剤と、
25重量%以下の粘着付与剤を含む、ホットメルト組成物。 - 液体可塑剤を含まない、請求項1に記載のホットメルト組成物。
- 15重量%~45重量%の総ポリマー含量を有する、請求項1に記載のホットメルト組成物。
- 25重量%~75重量%の前記ワックスを含む、請求項1に記載のホットメルト組成物。
- 5重量%~40重量%のプロピレン系ポリマーを更に含む、請求項1に記載のホットメルト組成物。
- 前記ワックスが、パラフィンワックスである、請求項1に記載のホットメルト組成物。
- 前記スチレンブロックコポリマーが、水素化中間ブロックを有する、請求項1に記載のホットメルト組成物。
- 前記スチレンブロックコポリマーが、スチレン-イソプレン-スチレンブロックコポリマーである、請求項1に記載のホットメルト組成物。
- 5重量%~25重量%の粘着付与剤を含む、請求項1に記載のホットメルト組成物。
- 粘着付与剤を含まない、請求項1に記載のホットメルト組成物。
- 600%超の伸び及び少なくとも1.0メガパスカルの最大引張応力を有する、請求項1に記載のホットメルト組成物。
- 15重量%~45重量%のスチレンブロックコポリマーと、
35重量%~75重量%の、45℃~90℃の凝固点(ASTM D938)を有するワックスと、
任意に、最大40重量%の粘着付与剤と、を含み、
可塑剤を含まない、請求項1に記載のホットメルト組成物。 - 吸収性物品であって、
ホットメルト組成物と、
前記ホットメルト組成物及び吸収性材料を含むコアと、を含み、
前記ホットメルト組成物が、前記吸収性コアの少なくとも一部を前記吸収性物品の材料に固定し、前記ホットメルト組成物が、
15重量%~45重量%のスチレンブロックコポリマーと、
25重量%~75%重量%の、45℃~90℃の凝固点(ASTM D938)を有するワックスと、を含む、吸収性物品。 - 前記コアが、10重量%未満のフラフを含む、請求項13に記載の吸収性物品。
- 47重量%以下の総ポリマー含量を有する、請求項13に記載の吸収性物品。
- 30重量%~75重量%の前記ワックスと
15重量%以下の前記粘着付与剤を含み、
前記ワックスが、パラフィンワックス、フィッシャートロプシュワックス、及び、酸化フィッシャートロプシュワックスからなる群から選択され、45℃~85℃の凝固点(ASTM D938)を有し、
162.8℃で20,000cP以下の粘度を有する、請求項1記載のホットメルト組成物。
