前述のようにして得られたガラスカレットを、容器底部に1つの円形ノズルチップを有する小型の筒型白金製ブッシング内に入れ、所定の温度に加熱して溶融したのち、ノズルチップから吐出した溶融ガラスを所定の速度でステンレス製コレットに巻き取ることにより引き伸ばしながら冷却固化して、真円状の円形断面を備え、繊維径13μmのガラス繊維を得た。得られたガラス繊維約1g(試験用ガラス繊維)をコレットから採取し、120℃で1時間乾燥させ、質量(操作前質量)を測定した。次いで、試験用ガラス繊維を100mlの蒸留水中に、80℃にて24時間静置した。その後、試験用ガラス繊維をおよそ150μmの目穴の開いた金網にとり、蒸留水で洗浄したのち、120℃で1時間乾燥させ、質量(操作後質量)を測定した。
試験片を研磨し、80mm×3mm(厚さ1mm)の研磨試験片を作成した。次いで、得られた研磨試験片を、絶乾後、23℃、湿度60%の室内に24時間保管した。次いで、得られた研磨試験片につき、JIS C 2565:1992に準拠し、株式会社エーイーティー製空洞共振器法誘電率測定装置ADMS01Oc1(商品名)を用いて、10GHzにおける誘電率(誘電定数Dk)及び誘電正接(散逸率Df)を測定した。
まず、回転粘度計付高温電気炉(芝浦システム株式会社製)を用い、白金ルツボ中でガラスカレットを溶融し、回転式ブルックフィールド型粘度計を用いて溶融温度を変化させながら連続的に溶融ガラスの粘度を測定し、回転粘度が1000ポイズのときに対応する温度を測定することにより、1000ポイズ温度を求めた。

前記CaO、MgO及びSrOの合計含有率(質量%)に対するTiO2の含有率(質量%)の割合(TiO2/(CaO+MgO+SrO))が0.66~4.00の範囲にあり、
前記SiO2の含有率(質量%)SI及び前記Al2O3の含有率(質量%)Aが次式(1)を満たすことを特徴とする、ガラス繊維用ガラス組成物。
