Description
本開示の態様は、木材パルプに基づくセルロース複合材料に関する。これらの複合材料のいくつかの実施形態は、化学的に処理されたパルプに基づく複合材料のような、当該技術分野で知られているセルロース複合材料と比較した場合、より費用対効果が高く、改善された耐湿性および/または改善された機械的特性を有する。
本明細書に記載されたセルロース複合材料のさらに他の実施形態は、従来の押出成形技術を用いて物品に変換することができる。これらの物品は、とりわけ、自動車、建築および建設、消費用用途および家電製品用途、3D印刷など、さまざまな市場で実用化されている。
「セルロース複合材料(Cellulosic Composite)」は、ポリマーマトリックスとセルロース系充填材とを含む複合材料を指すために使用される。
「カップリング剤」は、ポリマーマトリックスとセルロース系充填材との間の界面接着を改善する添加剤を指すために使用される。
「ポリマーマトリックス」は、溶融加工可能なポリマー材料を指すために使用される。
Claims (9)
- セルロース複合材料を製造するためのプロセスであって、前記プロセスは、10重量%を超える水分を有する湿潤パルプおよびポリマーマトリックスを含む混合物を連続的に溶融加工するステップを含み、前記複合材料を形成するために、前記連続的に溶融加工するステップにより形成されたマスターバッチをさらに溶融加工するステップを含み、前記混合物が、添加剤および充填材のうちの少なくとも1つをさらに含む、プロセス。
- 前記パルプの水分含有量が、前記パルプの少なくとも15重量%である、請求項1に記載のプロセス。
- 前記パルプの水分含有量が、前記パルプの少なくとも20重量%である、請求項2に記載のプロセス。
- 前記パルプの水分含有量が、前記パルプの少なくとも30重量%である、請求項3に記載のプロセス。
- 前記さらに溶融加工するステップの前に前記マスターバッチを希釈することをさらに含む、請求項1に記載のプロセス。
- 前記連続的に溶融加工するステップおよび前記さらに溶融加工するステップのそれぞれが、コンパウンディング、射出成形および押し出しのうちの1つである、請求項1に記載のプロセス。
- 前記マスターバッチが50~99重量%の範囲のパルプを含有し、前記さらに溶融加工するステップの後に、複合材料が5~50重量%の範囲のパルプを含有する、請求項1に記載のプロセス。
- 前記ポリマーマトリックスが熱可塑性ポリマーマトリックスである、請求項1に記載のプロセス。
- 前記連続的に溶融加工するステップの前にパルプの水分含有量を増加させるステップをさらに含む、請求項1に記載のプロセス。
