Description
以下、本発明の実施例の全体的な動作について、図10及び図11を参照しつつ説明する。図10は、エアバッグ14の展開状態を示す模式図であり、図1のA-A方向の断面に相当する。図10において、(A)は展開初期の段階を示し、(B)は(A)の状態の後に、乗員Pがエアバッグ14に対して正面から進入した場合のエアバッグ14の展開挙動を示す。一方、図11は、乗員Pがエアバッグ14に対して斜め方向に(オブリーク方向)から進入した場合のエアバッグ14の展開(変形)挙動を示す。
なお、図10(B)はエアバッグ14(正面保護部16)に対して、乗員Pが正面から進入する状態を示しているが、乗員Pがエアバッグ14に対して斜め方向に(オブリーク方向)から進入した場合には、エアバッグ14の展開(変形)挙動は図11に示すようになる。
以上、本発明の実施例について説明したが、本発明は上記実施例に何ら限定されるものではなく、特許請求の範囲に表現された技術思想の範囲内で適宜変更可能なものである。
Claims (9)
- 車両のインストルメントパネルに収容され、助手席の乗員を保護するエアバッグ装置であって、
膨張ガスを発生するインフレータと;
前記インフレータから放出されるガスによって、乗員側に向かって膨張・展開するエアバッグとを備え、
前記エアバッグは、展開時に乗員の正面に位置する正面保護部と;前記正面保護部の車幅方向側部に位置し、当該正面保護部よりも乗員側に突出した一対の側方突出部とを有し、
前記エアバッグの内部には、前記エアバッグの展開方向とする交差する方向に延び、当該エアバッグの内面に連結されたクロステザーと;前端部が前記クロステザーに連結され、後端部が前記正面保護部に連結された一対の第1前後テザーとが設けられており、
前記一対の第1前後テザーの車幅方向内側には、一対の第2前後テザーが設けられ、
当該第2前後テザーの前端部が前記クロステザーに連結され、後端部が前記正面保護部に連結され、
前記一対の側方突出部の間に位置する前記正面保護部において、前記第1前後テザーと前記第2前後テザーとの間に乗員側に突出した左右一対の中間突出部が形成され、前記一対の第2前後テザー同士の間に乗員側に突出した中央突出部が形成され、
前記中央突出部は、前記中間突出部よりも乗員側に更に突出していることを特徴とするエアバッグ装置。 - 前記中間突出部の乗員側の曲率半径(r1)が、前記中央突出部の乗員側の曲率半径(r2)よりも小さくなるように構成されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のエアバッグ装置。
- 前記側方突出部の乗員側の曲率半径(R)が前記中央突出部の乗員側の曲率半径(r2)よりも大きくなるように構成されていることを特徴とする請求項2に記載のエアバッグ装置。
- 前記正面保護部上において、前記第1前後テザーと前記第2前後テザーとの間隔が、前記一対の第2前後テザー同士の間隔よりも小さいことを特徴とする請求項1、2又は3に記載のエアバッグ装置。
- 前記第1前後テザーが、前記第2前後テザーよりも短く設定されていることを特徴とする請求項1乃至4の何れか1項に記載のエアバッグ装置。
- 前記正面保護部と前記一対の第1前後テザーとの連結部が、前記一対の第2前後テザーとの連結部と、上下方向にずれて配置されることを特徴とする請求項1乃至5の何れか1項に記載のエアバッグ装置。
- 前記正面保護部と前記一対の第1前後テザーとの連結部が、前記一対の第2前後テザーとの連結部よりも下方にずれて配置されることを特徴とする請求項6に記載のエアバッグ装置。
- 前記クロステザー上において、前記一対の第1前後テザーとの連結部と、前記一対の第2前後テザーとの連結部が、上下方向にずれて配置されることを特徴とする請求項1乃至7の何れか1項に記載のエアバッグ装置。
- 前記クロステザー上において、前記一対の第1前後テザーとの連結部が、前記一対の第2前後テザーとの連結部よりも下方にずれて配置されることを特徴とする請求項8に記載のエアバッグ装置。
