Description
本発明は、米国エネルギー省補助金DE-EE-0007009に基く政府援助を得て実施された。政府は、当発明に特定の権利を有する。
炭化水素燃料の生成のための、原油の代替品を求める調査は、ますます多数の要因によって進められている。これには、石油埋蔵量の減少、エネルギー需要の増加予測、および再生不可能な炭素供給源に由来する温室効果ガス(GHG)排出に対する懸念の高まりが含まれる。天然ガスの埋蔵量ならびに生物供給源から取得されるガス流(バイオガス)の豊富さを考慮して、メタンは、液体炭化水素を提供する多数の可能なルートの焦点になっている。メタンを燃料に変換するための鍵となる商業プロセスには、合成ガス(シンガス(syngas))を生成する第1変換ステップと、それに続く第2の下流フィッシャー・トロプシュ(FT:Fischer-Tropsch)合成ステップが含まれる。この第2ステップにおいて、水素(H2)と一酸化炭素(CO)の混合物を含有する合成ガスは、C-O結合の連続的開裂と、水素を取り込むC-C結合の形成と、を経る。このメカニズムは、炭化水素の形成を提供し、とりわけ直鎖アルカンの形成を提供し、FT反応条件と触媒特性を変更することで、ある程度制御され得る分子量の分布を伴う。そのような特性として、孔径および担持体材料のその他の特徴が含まれる。触媒の選択は、他の点に関してFT生成物収率に影響し得る。例えば鉄ベースのFT触媒は、オキシジェネートをより多く生成する傾向がある反面、活性金属としてのルテニウムは、もっぱらパラフィンを生成する傾向がある。
メタンの乾式改質から形成される合成ガス生成物の理論上のH2:COモル比は1である反面、メタンのCO2-スチーム改質におけるスチーム改質の追加は、このモル比を下流フィッシャー・トロプシュ合成のためのより好ましい値に上昇させる可能性を有益に提供して、次に従って液体炭化水素を生成する:
ここでX供給物は、反応機に提供されるガス状混合物(例えば組み合わせた反応機供給物)中の化合物(複数可)Xの総量(例えば総重量または総モル)であり、X生成物は反応機から除去される合成ガス生成物中の化合物(複数可)Xの総量である。連続プロセスの場合、この総量は、より好都合なことに流量または単位時間当たりの総量(例えば総重量/時間(hr)または総モル/時間(hr))で表現され得る。ここで記載のような触媒および改質条件を使用して実現され得る他の性能基準には、高い水素収率、または反応機に提供されガス状混合物中のメタン中および/または他の水素含有化合物中の水素全体(例えばC2-C4炭化水素またはC2-C3炭化水素などの炭化水素中の水素全体)の分率が含まれ、これは反応機から除去される合成ガス生成物中でH2に変換される。代表的実施形態では、水素収率は少なくとも約70%(例えば約70%~約85%)である。変換について前述のように、反応機に提供される量、および反応機から除去される量は、流量で表現され得る。
Claims (25)
- 合成ガス生成物を生成するプロセスであって、メタン、CO2 およびH 2 Oを含むガス状混合物をCO 2 -スチーム改質反応機に供給させるステップを備え、
前記CO 2 -スチーム改質反応機は、少なくとも80重量%の量の酸化セリウムを備える固体担持体上で、Pt、Rh、Ru、Pd、Ag、Os、IrおよびAuからなるグループから選択される少なくとも2つの貴金属を備える触媒を含み、
前記触媒は、前記少なくとも2つの貴金属および前記固体担持体の金属以外の金属を0.05重量%未満含み、
前記CO 2 -スチーム改質反応機では、前記メタンの少なくとも80%が、酸化剤としてのCO 2 およびH 2 Oとの反応によって変換される、プロセス。 - 前記少なくとも2つの貴金属はPtおよびRhである、請求項1に記載のプロセス。
- 前記Ptは、前記触媒の重量で0.05%~5%の量で存在する、請求項2に記載のプロセス。
- 前記Ptは、前記触媒の重量で0.5%~2%の量で存在する、請求項3に記載のプロセス。
- 前記Rhは、前記触媒の重量で0.05%~5%の量で存在する、請求項2に記載のプロセス。
- 前記Rhは、前記触媒の重量で0.5%~2%の量で存在する、請求項5に記載のプロセス。
- 前記H 2 Oは、15mol%~70mol%の量で前記ガス状混合物中に存在する、請求項1から請求項6のいずれか一項に記載のプロセス。
- メタン、CO 2 およびH 2 Oを含む前記ガス状混合物を前記CO 2 -スチーム改質反応機に供給させる前に、さらに、
メタン含有原料とCO2含有酸化剤とを組み合わせることで前記ガス状混合物を取得し、
前記ガス状混合物中の前記H 2 Oは、最初に、前記メタン含有原料および/または前記CO 2 含有酸化剤中に存在する、請求項1から請求項7のいずれか一項に記載のプロセス。 - 前記ガス状混合物は、さらに、少なくとも100mol-ppmの全硫黄を備える、請求項1から請求項8のいずれか一項に記載のプロセス。
- 前記ガス状混合物は、さらに、1mol%~25mol%の合計量で芳香族炭化水素およびオレフィン系炭化水素を備える、請求項1から請求項9のいずれか一項に記載のプロセス。
- 前記メタン含有原料は、天然ガスまたは再生可能メタン供給源由来のメタンを備える、請求項8に記載のプロセス。
- メタン、CO 2 およびH 2 Oを含む前記ガス状混合物を前記CO 2 -スチーム改質反応機に供給させる前に、さらに、
前記ガス状混合物は、H2O含有酸化剤、メタン含有原料、およびCO 2 含有酸化剤を組み合わせることで取得される、請求項1から請求項11のいずれか一項に記載のプロセス。 - 前記CO 2 -スチーム改質反応機の条件は、前記合成ガス生成物を前記CO 2 -スチーム改質反応機からの流出物として提供するために、0.1hr-1 ~2.5hr-1の単位時間当たりの重量時空間速度(WHSV)を含む、請求項1から請求項12のいずれか一項に記載のプロセス。
- 前記CO 2 -スチーム改質反応機の条件は、649℃(1200°F)~816℃(1500°F)の温度を含む、請求項1から請求項13のいずれか一項に記載のプロセス。
- 前記条件は、0kPa~517kPa(75psig)のゲージ圧力をさらに含む、請求項14に記載のプロセス。
- 前記CO 2 -スチーム改質反応機では、前記メタンの少なくとも85%が、最大704℃(1300°F)の温度で変換される、請求項1から請求項15のいずれか一項に記載のプロセス。
- 前記合成ガス生成物は、前記ガス状混合物中に存在する前記メタンおよび前記H 2 Oを含む、水素含有化合物の水素の少なくとも70%に相当する量でH2を備える、請求項1から請求項16のいずれか一項に記載のプロセス。
- 前記合成ガス生成物のH 2 :COモル比は、1.5:1~2.3:1である、請求項1から請求項17のいずれか一項に記載のプロセス。
- 前記ガス状混合物は、エタン、エチレン、プロパンおよびプロピレンからなるグループから選択される1つまたは複数の軽質炭化水素をさらに含む、請求項1から請求項18のいずれか一項に記載のプロセス。
- 前記メタンは再生可能資源から得られる、請求項1から請求項19のいずれか一項に記載のプロセス。
- 前記再生可能資源は、バイオマスである、請求項20に記載のプロセス。
- 合成ガス生成物を生成するプロセスであって、メタン、CO 2 およびH 2 Oを含むガス状混合物をCO 2 -スチーム改質反応機に供給するステップを備え、
前記CO 2 -スチーム改質反応機は、少なくとも80重量%の量の酸化セリウムを備える固体担持体上で、0.3重量%~3重量%のPtおよび0.3重量%~3重量%のRhを備える触媒を含み、
前記CO 2 -スチーム改質反応機の改質条件は、0.1hr -1 ~4.0hr -1 の単位時間当たりの重量時空間速度(WHSV)、および0kPa~517kPaまでのゲージ圧を含み、
前記触媒は十分に活性であり、前記CO 2 -スチーム改質反応機において、760℃の温度で酸化剤としてのCO 2 およびH 2 Oとの反応によって少なくとも95%の前記メタンの変換を達成する、プロセス。 - 合成ガス生成物を生成するプロセスであって、メタン、CO 2 およびH 2 Oを含むガス状混合物をCO 2 -スチーム改質反応機に供給するステップを備え、
前記CO 2 -スチーム改質反応機は、少なくとも80重量%の量の酸化セリウムを備える固体担持体上で、少なくとも1つの貴金属を備える触媒を含み、
前記CO 2 -スチーム改質反応機では、前記メタンの少なくとも80%が、酸化剤としてのCO 2 およびH 2 Oとの反応によって変換され、
前記ガス状混合物は、10mol-pmp~1mol-%の硫黄レベルを有し、前記硫黄レベルの決定に基づいて、前記CO 2 -スチーム改質反応機の温度を調整するステップをさらに備える、プロセス。 - 前記硫黄レベルは、100mol-ppm~1000mol-ppmである、請求項23に記載のプロセス。
- 前記硫黄レベルは、500mol-ppm~1000mol-ppmである、請求項24に記載のプロセス。
