Claims (17)
- 二つ以上のバッテリーセルを含むバッテリーモジュールであって、
電池ケースを有し、隣接している第1バッテリーセルと第2バッテリーセルとを電気的に接続し、過充電時に前記電池ケースが開けられて破裂することで電気接続を解除する電流遮断バッテリーセルを含むことを特徴とするバッテリーモジュール。 - 前記第1バッテリーセル、前記第2バッテリーセル及び前記電流遮断バッテリーセルの各々は、反対極性の電極リードの一端部が両端に各々接続した電極組立体がパウチケースに電解液と共に収納されて封止された構造を有し、前記電極リードの他端部が前記パウチケースの外部に露出しているパウチ型二次電池であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のバッテリーモジュール。
- 前記第1バッテリーセルと前記電流遮断バッテリーセルとが直列接続しており、前記電流遮断バッテリーセルと前記第2バッテリーセルとが直列接続していることを特徴とする請求項1または請求項2に記載のバッテリーモジュール。
- 前記第1バッテリーセルの電極リードと前記第2バッテリーセルの電極リードとが、前記電流遮断バッテリーセルの電極リードを介して相互接続していることを特徴とする請求項2に記載のバッテリーモジュール。
- 前記第1バッテリーセル及び前記第2バッテリーセルは、各電極リードが相互反対極性になるよう交互に積層されており、前記第1バッテリーセルの電極リードの他端部と、前記第2バッテリーセルの電極リードの他端部とが、積層方向に沿って互いに向けて折り曲げられており、各電極リードの折り曲げられた部位の間に前記電流遮断バッテリーセルが前記積層方向と平行に配置されることで各電極リード同士が接続していることを特徴とする請求項4に記載のバッテリーモジュール。
- 前記電流遮断バッテリーセルは、前記第1バッテリーセルと前記第2バッテリーセルとの間隔に影響を与えずに前記各電極リードの折り曲げられた部位の間に位置するように前記第1バッテリーセル及び前記第2バッテリーセルよりも小型または薄型であることを特徴とする請求項5に記載のバッテリーモジュール。
- 前記電流遮断バッテリーセルは、過充電時、バッテリーセルの内部でガスが発生して圧力が増加することで破裂することを特徴とする請求項2および請求項4から請求項6のいずれか一項に記載のバッテリーモジュール。
- 前記電流遮断バッテリーセルは、
負極板、分離膜及び正極板が積層されてなる電極組立体が電解液と共にパウチケースに収納されて封止されており、
前記正極板が、正極集電体と、前記正極集電体の上に形成された正極活物質層と、を含み、
前記正極活物質層は、正極活物質、ガス発生物質、導電材及びバインダーを含むことを特徴とする請求項7に記載のバッテリーモジュール。 - 前記ガス発生物質は、炭酸リチウム、炭酸カルシウム、リチウムニッケル酸化物及びシュウ酸リチウムからなる群より選択された一種または二種以上の混合物であることを特徴とする請求項8に記載のバッテリーモジュール。
- 前記ガス発生物質は、前記正極活物質と前記ガス発生物質とを合わせた重量を基準として、0.1~20重量%の量で前記正極板に含まれることを特徴とする請求項8または請求項9に記載のバッテリーモジュール。
- 前記正極活物質層は、前記バインダーによって前記ガス発生物質が相互接続及び固定されており、前記ガス発生物質の間における空間によって形成された気孔を有する多孔性構造であることを特徴とする請求項8から請求項10のいずれか一項に記載のバッテリーモジュール。
- 前記正極活物質と前記ガス発生物質とが混合していることを特徴とする請求項8から請求項11のいずれか一項に記載のバッテリーモジュール。
- 前記正極活物質層が、プライマー層及び活物質コーティング層を含み、
前記プライマー層が、前記ガス発生物質、前記導電材及び前記バインダーを含み、
前記活物質コーティング層が、前記正極活物質、前記導電材及び前記バインダーを含むことを特徴とする請求項8から請求項12のいずれか一項に記載のバッテリーモジュール。 - 前記ガス発生物質が、前記プライマー層を構成する固形分の90~99.9重量%の量で含まれることを特徴とする請求項13に記載のバッテリーモジュール。
- 前記第1バッテリーセルまたは前記第2バッテリーセルの電極リードがバイメタルからなり、
前記バイメタルは、熱膨張係数の大きい金属及び熱膨張係数の小さい金属が積層されてなったものであって、
前記熱膨張係数の大きい金属が前記電流遮断バッテリーセルの電極リードと結合し、
前記熱膨張係数の大きい金属の端部が接着部材によって前記電流遮断バッテリーセルのパウチケースに接着されていることを特徴とする請求項2および請求項4から請求項14のいずれか一項に記載のバッテリーモジュール。 - 少なくとも一つの請求項1から請求項15のいずれか一項に記載のバッテリーモジュールと、
前記少なくとも一つのバッテリーモジュールをパッケージングするパックケースと、を含む、バッテリーパック。 - 少なくとも一つの請求項16に記載のバッテリーパックを含む、自動車。
