Description
本出願は、2016年1月8日に出願された米国仮出願第62/276,499号に対する優先権を主張するものであり、上記仮出願はその全体が参照により本明細書に組み込まれる。
a)乗員がもはや直接的に路面外乱の影響を受けることがないので、業界が「乗り心地」と呼ぶものが著しく向上する。
b)車輪が路面外乱を越えて動くことに関連するエネルギーは、車両全体を持ち上げるために必要とされるエネルギーよりもはるかに小さいので、かなりの省エネルギーが実現される。
c)速度が増加するにつれ、車両質量全体が路面外乱の至る所で傾くことがなくなり、車両のステアリング制御が著しく向上する。

Claims (2)
- 選択的に切り替え可能なデュアルレート車両サスペンションシステムであって、
車両の一コーナーのばね下質量とばね上質量との間に従来の方法で配向されたプッシュロッド作動式の車内ばね構造であって、全体の合成ばね定数KTを与えるように直列に配置された第1の所定定数K1のトーションバーばね及び第2の所定定数K2のコイルばねを含むプッシュロッド作動式の車内ばね構造体と、
前記コイルばねと並列に配置されたロックアウトアクチュエータであって、第1のモードにおいて前記コイルばねが自由に動くことを可能にし、第2のモードにおいて前記コイルばねの動きを防止するように構成されたロックアウトアクチュエータと
を含み、
前記ロックアウトアクチュエータは、
油圧シリンダーと、
第1のロック解除モード及び第2のロックモードを与えるべく前記油圧シリンダーの中の2つの容積間の接続を選択的に開閉する油圧回路と
を含み、
前記油圧回路はさらに、前記ロックアウトアクチュエータに電力を供給して前記コイルばねを所定位置まで駆動するように構成され、
前記ロックアウトアクチュエータが前記第1のロック解除モードにあるとき、車両全体のサスペンションばね定数が級数方程式1/KT=1/K1+1/K2によって定義され、前記ロックアウトアクチュエータが前記第2のロックモードにあるとき、車両全体のサスペンションばね定数がKT=K1で定義されるように実質的に高くなり、この結果として前記車両のライドハイトが、前記1/K 1 +1/K 2 のばね定数モードにおいてよりも前記K 1 のばね定数モードにおいて相対的に低くなるように、最適な乗り心地設定の低定数と最適なハンドリング設定の高定数との両方が選択的かつ代替的に与えられる、選択的に切り替え可能なデュアルレート車両サスペンションシステム。 - 前記コイルばねは、前記ライドハイトが相対的に低くなるように前記所定位置で完全に圧縮される、請求項1に記載の選択的に切り替え可能なデュアルレート車両サスペンションシステム。
