[1]界面活性剤、及び前記界面活性剤の存在下で単量体成分が重合した樹脂粒子を含有し、前記界面活性剤は、N-アシル基を有する第三級アミノ基を含有するN-アシルアミノ酸塩型アニオン性界面活性剤を含む、水性樹脂エマルション。
[2]前記N-アシルアミノ酸塩型アニオン性界面活性剤は、前掲の一般式(1)で表される化合物を含む、上記[1]に記載の水性樹脂エマルション。
[3]前記N-アシルアミノ酸塩型アニオン性界面活性剤は、N-アシル-N-アルキル-β-アラニン塩型アニオン性界面活性剤、N-アシル-N-アルキルグリシン塩型アニオン性界面活性剤、及びN-アシル-N-アルキルタウリン塩型アニオン性界面活性剤からなる群より選ばれる少なくとも1種を含む、上記[1]又は[2]に記載の水性樹脂エマルション。
[4]前記N-アシルアミノ酸塩型アニオン性界面活性剤は、N-アシル-N-アルキルタウリン塩型アニオン性界面活性剤を含む、上記[1]~[3]のいずれかに記載の水性樹脂エマルション。
[5]前記N-アシルアミノ酸塩型アニオン性界面活性剤の含有量は、前記単量体成分の総量100質量部に対して、0.1~20質量部である、上記[1]~[4]のいずれかに記載の水性樹脂エマルション。
[6]前記樹脂粒子は、前記N-アシルアミノ酸塩型アニオン性界面活性剤からなるミセル中で前記単量体成分が重合したものである、上記[1]~[5]のいずれかに記載の水性樹脂エマルション。
[7]前記単量体成分は、前記単量体成分の全質量を基準として、親水性基を有する重合性単量体(A)0.1~20質量%、並びに前記重合性単量体(A)以外の重合性単量体として、炭素原子数1~8の直鎖状又は分岐鎖状のアルキル基を有する(メタ)アクリル酸アルキルエステル、シクロヘキシルメタクリレート、及びスチレンからなる群より選ばれる少なくとも1種の重合性単量体(B)80~99.9質量%を含む、上記[1]~[6]のいずれかに記載の水性樹脂エマルション。
[8]前記単量体成分は、前記単量体成分の全質量を基準として、親水性基を有する重合性単量体(A)0.1~20質量%;メチルメタクリレート、シクロヘキシルメタクリレート、及びスチレンからなる群より選ばれる少なくとも1種の重合性単量体(B-1)14~85質量%;並びに炭素原子数2~8の直鎖状又は分岐鎖状のアルキル基を有する(メタ)アクリル酸アルキルエステル(B-2)14~85質量%;を含む、上記[1]~[6]のいずれかに記載の水性樹脂エマルション。
[9]界面活性剤の存在下で単量体成分を重合させて、前記単量体成分が重合した樹脂粒子を含有する水性樹脂エマルションを製造する方法であって、前記界面活性剤は、N-アシル基を有する第三級アミノ基を含有するN-アシルアミノ酸塩型アニオン性界面活性剤を含む、水性樹脂エマルションの製造方法。
実施例及び比較例では、下記表1に示す界面活性剤A~Gを使用した。界面活性剤A~Gには、有効成分として当該界面活性剤を含有する水性液状の界面活性剤溶液の市販製品(以下、界面活性剤A(B~G)溶液と記載することがある。)を用いた。後述する界面活性剤の使用量は、界面活性剤溶液としての市販製品の使用量である。
MMA:メチルメタクリレート(Tg:105℃)
CHMA:シクロヘキシルメタクリレート(Tg:83℃)
ST:スチレン(Tg:100℃)
2EHA:2-エチルヘキシルアクリレート(Tg:-70℃)
BA:n-ブチルアクリレート(Tg:-55℃)
EA:エチルアクリレート(Tg:-22℃)
HEMA:2-ヒドロキシエチルメタクリレート(Tg:55℃)
MAAC:メタクリル酸(Tg:185℃)
HEA:2-ヒドロキシエチルアクリレート(Tg:-15℃)
AAC:アクリル酸(Tg:105℃)
AM:アクリルアミド(Tg:165℃)
メチルメタクリレート(MMA)27.0質量部、2-エチルヘキシルアクリレート(2EHA)71.0質量部、及び2-ヒドロキシエチルメタクリレート(HEMA)2.0質量部からなる単量体成分(総量100.0質量部)、イオン交換水62.0質量部、並びに界面活性剤A溶液(有効成分:ラウロイルメチル-β-アラニンナトリウム30質量%)10.0質量部(有効成分:3.0質量部)を混合及び撹拌して、単量体乳化物(プレエマルション)を調製した。
実施例1で使用した重合性単量体及び界面活性剤溶液のそれぞれの種類及び使用量、並びにプレエマルションの調製に使用したイオン交換水の使用量を、表2(表2-1~表2-3)の上段に示す通りとしたこと以外は、実施例1と同様の方法により、実施例2~12及び比較例1~5の水性樹脂エマルションを製造した。
(pH)
JIS K6833-1:2008の規定に準拠し、pHメーター(東亜ディーケーケー社製、商品名「pHメーター HM-41X」)を用いて、製造した各水性樹脂エマルションの25℃でのpHを測定した。
JIS K6833-1:2008の規定に準拠し、乾燥温度140℃、乾燥時間0.5時間の条件で、製造した各水性樹脂エマルションの不揮発分(固形分)を測定した。
各水性樹脂エマルションについて、樹脂粒子の動的光散乱法による平均粒子径(nm)を測定した。具体的には、動的光散乱法を利用した粒度分布測定装置(商品名「濃厚系粒径アナライザー FPAR-1000」、大塚電子株式会社製)を用いて体積基準の粒度分布を測定し、累積50%となる粒子径(D50;メディアン径)を平均粒子径として求めた。
JIS K6833-1:2008の規定に準拠し、BM型回転粘度計(東機産業社製、BMII形粘度計)を用いて、回転速度30rpm、温度25℃の条件で、製造した各水性樹脂エマルションの粘度を測定した。
上述した水性樹脂エマルションを製造するに当たり、乳化重合の終了後に、上記の120メッシュの金網を用いて濾過したときの金網上に残渣として分離された凝集物の有無を確認し、また、凝集物があった場合にその乾燥後の質量を測定し、以下の評価基準にしたがって、重合後の乳化安定性を評価した。評価結果がAである場合(分離された凝集物がない場合)、重合時の凝集物の発生を抑制できる効果に優れるといえる。
A:凝集物がない。
B:凝集物が多少ある(水性樹脂エマルションの全質量に対して5質量%未満)。
C:凝集物が多い(水性樹脂エマルションの全質量に対して5質量%以上)。
製造した各水性樹脂エマルション(上述した濾過後に濾液として得られた水性樹脂エマルション)にクエン酸を添加し、水性樹脂エマルションのpHを弱酸性領域であるpH5.5に調整した。pH5.5に調整した後の水性樹脂エマルションを再度120メッシュの金網で濾過したときの金網上に残渣として分離された凝集物の有無を確認し、また、凝集物があった場合にその乾燥後の質量を測定し、以下の評価基準にしたがって、弱酸性領域のpH5.5に調整したときの乳化安定性を評価した。評価結果がAA又はAである水性樹脂エマルションは、人肌に近い弱酸性領域のpHに調整しても、凝集物の発生を抑えられて乳化安定性に優れるといえる。
AA:凝集物がない。
A :凝集物がほとんどない(水性樹脂エマルションの全質量に対して0.2質量%未満)。
B :凝集物が多少ある(水性樹脂エマルションの全質量に対して0.2質量%以上5質量%未満)。
C :凝集物が多い(水性樹脂エマルションの全質量に対して5質量%以上)。
上述の「pH5.5での乳化安定性」の評価結果がAAであった水性樹脂エマルションについて、さらにpHを酸性に調整したときの乳化安定性を評価した。具体的には、水性樹脂エマルションにさらにクエン酸を添加し、水性樹脂エマルションのpHを強酸性領域であるpH2.0に調整した。pH2.0に調整した後の水性樹脂エマルションを再度120メッシュの金網で濾過したときの金網上に残渣として分離された凝集物の有無を確認し、また、凝集物があった場合にその乾燥後の質量を測定し、以下の評価基準にしたがって、強酸性領域のpH2.0に調整したときの乳化安定性を評価した。評価結果がAである水性樹脂エマルションは、より広い酸性pH領域でも凝集物の発生を抑えられ、乳化安定性にさらに優れるといえる。
A:凝集物がない。
B:凝集物が多少ある(水性樹脂エマルションの全質量に対して5質量%未満)。
C:凝集物が多い(水性樹脂エマルションの全質量に対して5質量%以上)。
上記の「pH5.5での乳化安定性」の評価結果がAA又はAであったpH5.5に調整した各水性樹脂エマルションについて皮膜を作製し、その皮膜について引張試験を行った。具体的には、pH5.5に調整した水性樹脂エマルションを70℃で16時間加熱乾燥させることを経て、幅10mm、長さ60mm、厚さ0.3mmの皮膜を作製した。その皮膜について、引張試験機(商品名「テンシロン万能試験機 RTG-1210」、株式会社エー・アンド・デイ製)を用いて、温度23℃及び相対湿度50%RHの環境下、引張試験を行い、引張強さ(破断に至るまでの最大応力;MPa)及び伸び(破断伸度;%)を測定した。引張試験の条件は、引張速度200mm/分、チャック間距離20mmとした。
Claims (5)
- 界面活性剤、及び前記界面活性剤の存在下でラジカル重合可能な単量体成分が重合した樹脂粒子を含有し、
前記界面活性剤は、N-アシル基を有する第三級アミノ基を含有するN-アシルアミノ酸塩型アニオン性界面活性剤を含み、
前記N-アシルアミノ酸塩型アニオン性界面活性剤の含有量は、前記界面活性剤の全質量を基準として、50質量%以上であり、かつ、前記単量体成分の総量100質量部に対して、0.5~20質量部であり、
前記N-アシルアミノ酸塩型アニオン性界面活性剤は、ラウロイルメチル-β-アラニン塩型アニオン性界面活性剤、ココイルサルコシン塩型アニオン性界面活性剤、ココイルメチルタウリン塩型アニオン性界面活性剤、及びカプロイルメチルタウリン塩型アニオン性界面活性剤からなる群より選ばれる少なくとも1種を含む、水性樹脂エマルション。 - 前記樹脂粒子は、前記N-アシルアミノ酸塩型アニオン性界面活性剤からなるミセル中で前記単量体成分が重合したものである、請求項1に記載の水性樹脂エマルション。
- 前記単量体成分は、前記単量体成分の全質量を基準として、親水性基を有する重合性単量体(A)0.1~20質量%、並びに前記重合性単量体(A)以外の、前記重合性単量体(A)と共重合する重合性単量体として、炭素原子数1~8の直鎖状又は分岐鎖状のアルキル基を有する(メタ)アクリル酸アルキルエステル、シクロヘキシルメタクリレート、及びスチレンからなる群より選ばれる少なくとも1種の重合性単量体(B)80~99.9質量%を含む、請求項1又は2に記載の水性樹脂エマルション。
- 前記単量体成分は、前記単量体成分の全質量を基準として、親水性基を有する重合性単量体(A)0.1~20質量%;並びに前記重合性単量体(A)以外の、前記重合性単量体(A)と共重合する重合性単量体として、メチルメタクリレート、シクロヘキシルメタクリレート、及びスチレンからなる群より選ばれる少なくとも1種の重合性単量体(B-1)14~85質量%、及び炭素原子数2~8の直鎖状又は分岐鎖状のアルキル基を有する(メタ)アクリル酸アルキルエステル(B-2)14~85質量%;を含む、請求項1~3のいずれか1項に記載の水性樹脂エマルション。
- 界面活性剤の存在下でラジカル重合可能な単量体成分を重合させて、前記単量体成分が重合した樹脂粒子を含有する水性樹脂エマルションを製造する方法であって、
前記界面活性剤は、N-アシル基を有する第三級アミノ基を含有するN-アシルアミノ酸塩型アニオン性界面活性剤を含み、
前記N-アシルアミノ酸塩型アニオン性界面活性剤の使用量は、前記界面活性剤の全質量を基準として、50質量%以上であり、かつ、前記単量体成分の総量100質量部に対して、0.5~20質量部であり、
前記N-アシルアミノ酸塩型アニオン性界面活性剤は、ラウロイルメチル-β-アラニン塩型アニオン性界面活性剤、ココイルサルコシン塩型アニオン性界面活性剤、ココイルメチルタウリン塩型アニオン性界面活性剤、及びカプロイルメチルタウリン塩型アニオン性界面活性剤からなる群より選ばれる少なくとも1種を含む、水性樹脂エマルションの製造方法。
