Description
≪電池パックの構成要素≫
図1は、電池パック1を概略的に示す斜視図である。電池パック1は、例えば、電気自動車(EV)又はハイブリッド自動車(HV)における車室のフロアパネルの下側に配置される。電池パック1は、後述する電池モジュール10及び電子機器11を収容する電池パックケース2と、電池パックケース2の開口部を閉鎖する電池パックカバー3とを有する。電池パックカバー3には二つの開口部が形成され、この開口部を通って電池パック1内の二次電池の充放電を行うための電池端子4、5が電池パック1の外部に延びる。なお、図示した実施形態では、電池端子4、5は、電池パックカバー3を通って電池パック1の内部から外部に延びるように形成されているが、電池パックケース2を通って電池パック1の内部から外部に延びるように形成されてもよい。また、電池端子4、5は、電池パックケース2や電池パックカバー3に直接取り付けられても良い。
図2に示したように、電池モジュール10は、積層された複数の平板状電池21と、平板状電池21の積層方向において複数の平板状電池21の両側に配置された外側固定部材22と、平板状電池21の積層方向において平板状電池と並列に配置された板状の接続部材23とを備える。
図5は、接続部材23を概略的に示す斜視図である。図5に示したように、接続部材23は、平板状の接続部材本体31と、接続部材本体31の相対する側面に設けられた二つの接続端子32、33を備える。本実施形態では、接続部材本体31及び両接続端子32、33は、金属等の導電性の材料で一体的に形成される。
次に、図2を再び参照して、電池パック1内における電池モジュール10等の配置や構成について説明する。上述したように、電池パックケース2内には複数の電池モジュール10が収容されている。図2に示した例では、電池パックケース2内には第1電池モジュール10aから第8電池モジュール10hまでの8つの電池モジュール10が収容されている。
ところで、上述した実施形態では、接続部材23の本体31は平板状に形成されている。しかしながら、接続部材23は、板状に形成されていれば、必ずしも平板状に形成されていなくてもよい。したがって、例えば、接続部材23は、波板状に形成されてもよい。この場合、接続部材23と接続部材23の隣に配置された平板状電池21との間には流体の通り道が形成されることになり、平板状電池21を冷却し易くすることができる。
次に、図8を参照して、本発明の第二実施形態に係る電池パックについて説明する。第二実施形態に係る電池パックの構成は基本的に第一実施形態に係る電池パックの構成と同様であるため、以下では、第一実施形態に係る電池パックの構成と異なる部分を中心に説明する。

- 電池パック内に配置される電池モジュールであって、
積層された複数の平板状電池と、
前記平板状電池の積層方向において前記平板状電池と重なるように並んで配置された板状の本体を有する接続部材と、
前記平板状電池の積層方向において前記接続部材の本体の側面上に配置された絶縁性部材と、を備え、
前記接続部材は二つの端子を有し、これら端子のうち一方の端子は前記平板状電池の端子と接続され且つ他方の端子は隣り合う電池モジュールの端子と接続され、
前記接続部材の二つの端子は、該接続部材の本体の前記絶縁性部材が設けられていない二つの相対する側面に設けられ、

隣り合う電池モジュールは、これら隣り合う電池モジュールのうちの一方の電池モジュールの前記接続部材の端子と、他方の電池モジュールの前記平板状電池の端子とが対向し且つこれら端子が互いに接続されるように配置される、電池パック。
