Description
本出願は、2016年2月29日に出願された米国仮出願第62/301,097号の利益を主張する。
R−Si−O−(RSiO)n−R−Si−O−R
式中、各Rは、独立して、飽和または不飽和のアルキル基、アリール基、または水素原子、及びnは、1〜5000である。典型的な基は、メチル、エチル、n−プロピル、イソプロピル、n−ブチル、イソブチル、フェニル、またはビニルである。シリコーンオイルはまた、グリシジル変性シリコーンオイル、アミノ変性シリコーンオイル、メルカプト変性シリコーンオイル、ポリエーテル変性シリコーンオイル、カルボン酸変性シリコーンオイル、または高級脂肪酸変性シリコーンオイルでもあり得る。シリコーンオイルの粘度は、25℃で、0.65〜1,000,000センチストーク、5,000〜100,000センチストーク、または10,000〜100,000センチストークの範囲であり得る。シリコーンオイル成分は、配合物中に1〜5重量%の量で使用され得る。

比較例(「CE」)1〜3及び例示的実施例(「IE」)1〜3は、EEAコポリマー樹脂をベースとしている。実施例において、EEAコポリマー樹脂は、The Dow Chemical CompanyからAMPLIFY EA100の商標名にて市販されている。CE4〜CE9は、それぞれ、使用されるEEAのメルトインデックスと同様のメルトインデックスを有するエチレンビニルアセテート(「EVA」)コポリマー樹脂ブレンドをベースとして、同量の充填剤を備えた対応例である。実施例において、EVAコポリマー樹脂ブレンドは、E.I.du Pont de Nemours and CompanyからELVAX3165及びELVAX3170の商標名にて市販されている樹脂の1:1ブレンドである。表1は、EEAコポリマー樹脂及びEVAコポリマー樹脂ブレンドの基本的特性を示す。ブレンドメルトインデックスは、個々の組成物のメルトインデックス(ELVAX3165は0.7g/10分、ELVAX3170は2.5g/10分)から、以下の式に従って導き出された。

式中、WAl、WMg、WCaは、組成物中の水酸化アルミニウム、水酸化マグネシウム、及び炭酸カルシウムの重量パーセントであり、ρAl、ρMg、ρCa、ρcは、それぞれ、水酸化アルミニウム、水酸化マグネシウム、及び炭酸カルシウム、及び化合物の密度である。
以下のマスターバッチ組成物は、二軸押出機を使用して作製される。20.5重量%のEEA Amplify(商標)EA100、10.5重量%のAFFINITY(商標)KC8852G樹脂、7重量%のAMPLIFY(商標)GR216機能性ポリマー、50重量%の水酸化アルミニウム、5重量%の水酸化マグネシウム、5重量%の炭酸カルシウム、1.5重量%のシリコーンオイル(60,000cSt)、0.3重量%のステアリン酸、及び0.2重量%の酸化防止剤IRGANOX(商標)1010。この組成物は、以下に記載される手順を用いて、IE4〜IE6、CE10、及びCE11の組成物を作製するために使用される。
なお、本発明は以下の態様を含みうる。
[1]42〜54重量パーセントのハロゲンフリー難燃剤と、
26〜46重量パーセントのエチレンアルキルアクリレートコポリマーと、
1〜15重量パーセントのエチレン系ポリマーと、
0〜12重量パーセントのカップリング剤と、
0〜1.0重量パーセントの酸化防止剤と、を含む、組成物。
[2]前記ハロゲンフリー難燃剤が、水酸化アルミニウム、水酸化マグネシウム、炭酸カルシウム、及びそれらの2つ以上の組み合わせからなる群から選択される、上記[1]に記載の組成物。
[3]前記組成物が、300%超の引張伸び、1,450psi超の引張強度、及び160℃、16,000Paの応力にて4.0を超えない相対粘度を示す、上記[1]または[2]に記載の組成物。
[4]前記エチレン系ポリマーが、エチレン由来及びC 3 〜C 12 α−オレフィン由来のサブユニットを含む、上記[1]〜[3]のいずれかに記載の組成物。
[5]前記エチレン系ポリマーが、1〜10g/10分のメルトインデックス(I 2 )を有する、上記[4]に記載の組成物。
[6]前記エチレン系ポリマーが、0.86〜0.96g/ccの密度を有する、上記[4]に記載の組成物。
[7]前記カップリング剤が、無水マレイン酸グラフトポリマーである、上記[1]〜[6]のいずれかに記載の組成物。
[8]前記酸化防止剤が、ヒンダード及びセミヒンダードフェノール、ホスファイト及びホスホナイト、チオ化合物、シロキサン、アミン、ならびにそれらの2つ以上の組み合わせからなる群から選択される、上記[1]〜[7]のいずれかに記載の組成物。
[9]前記組成物の各100重量部に対し、0.1〜5重量部の、紫外線吸収剤または紫外線安定剤、帯電防止剤、顔料、染料、成核剤、抵抗性改良剤、スリップ剤、可塑剤、加工助剤、潤滑剤、粘度調整剤、粘着付与剤、ブロッキング防止剤、界面活性剤、伸展油、金属不活性化剤、電圧安定剤、充填剤、追加の難燃剤添加物、ならびに架橋促進剤及び架橋触媒、ならびにそれらの2つ以上の組み合わせからなる群から選択される、少なくとも1つの添加剤を更に含む、上記[1]〜[8]のいずれかに記載の組成物。
[10]前記組成物の各100重量部に対し、1〜5重量部のシリコーンポリマーを更に含む、上記[1]〜[9]のいずれかに記載の組成物。
[11]前記組成物の各100重量部に対し、1〜4重量部の紫外線安定剤を更に含む、上記[1]〜[10]のいずれかに記載の組成物。
[12]上記[1]〜[11]のいずれかに記載の組成物を含む、ケーブル絶縁層。
[13]上記[1]〜[11]のいずれかに記載の組成物を含む、ケーブル保護外側ジャケット。
[14]上記[1]〜[11]のいずれかに記載の組成物を含む、ケーブルコアシース。
[15]電気導体及び通信媒体を含むケーブルであって、前記電気導体及び通信媒体のうちの少なくとも1つが、上記[1]〜[11]のいずれかに記載の組成物を含むシースに取り囲まれている、ケーブル。
Claims (14)
- 42〜54重量パーセントのハロゲンフリー難燃剤と、
少なくとも26重量%かつ42重量%を超えないエチレンエチルアクリレートコポリマーと、
1〜15重量パーセントのエチレン系ポリマーと、
0〜12重量パーセントのカップリング剤と、
0〜1.0重量パーセントの酸化防止剤と、
1〜5重量パーセントのシリコーン基含有化合物と、を含む、組成物。 - 前記ハロゲンフリー難燃剤が、水酸化アルミニウム、水酸化マグネシウム、炭酸カルシウム、及びそれらの2つ以上の組み合わせからなる群から選択される、請求項1に記載の組成物。
- 前記組成物が、300%超の引張伸び、1,450psi超の引張強度、及び160℃、16,000Paの応力にて4.0を超えない相対粘度を示す、請求項1または2に記載の組成物。
- 前記エチレン系ポリマーが、エチレン由来及びC3〜C12α−オレフィン由来のサブユニットを含む、請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の組成物。
- 前記エチレン系ポリマーが、1〜10g/10分のメルトインデックス(I2)を有する、請求項4に記載の組成物。
- 前記エチレン系ポリマーが、0.86〜0.96g/ccの密度を有する、請求項4に記載の組成物。
- 前記カップリング剤が、無水マレイン酸グラフトポリマーである、請求項1〜6のいずれか一項に記載の組成物。
- 前記酸化防止剤が、ヒンダード及びセミヒンダードフェノール、ホスファイト及びホスホナイト、チオ化合物、シロキサン、アミン、ならびにそれらの2つ以上の組み合わせからなる群から選択される、請求項1〜7のいずれか一項に記載の組成物。
- 前記組成物100重量部に対し、0.1〜5重量部の、紫外線吸収剤または紫外線安定剤、帯電防止剤、顔料、染料、成核剤、抵抗性改良剤、スリップ剤、可塑剤、加工助剤、潤滑剤、粘度調整剤、粘着付与剤、ブロッキング防止剤、界面活性剤、伸展油、金属不活性化剤、電圧安定剤、充填剤、追加の難燃剤添加物、ならびに架橋促進剤及び架橋触媒、ならびにそれらの2つ以上の組み合わせからなる群から選択される、少なくとも1つの添加剤を更に含む、請求項1〜8のいずれか一項に記載の組成物。
- 前記組成物100重量部に対し、1〜4重量部の紫外線安定剤を更に含む、請求項1〜9のいずれか一項に記載の組成物。
- 請求項1〜10のいずれか一項に記載の組成物を含む、ケーブル絶縁層。
- 請求項1〜10のいずれか一項に記載の組成物を含む、ケーブル保護外側ジャケット。
- 請求項1〜10のいずれか一項に記載の組成物を含む、ケーブルコアシース。
- 電気導体及び通信媒体を含むケーブルであって、前記電気導体及び通信媒体のうちの少なくとも1つが、請求項1〜10のいずれか一項に記載の組成物を含むシースに取り囲まれている、ケーブル。
