Description
図2は、冷却材損失事故をシミュレーションする設計基準事象(「DBE」)試験を説明しているグラフを示している。グラフは、複数の導体、導体シールド、絶縁層、絶縁シールド、縦添えされた波形シールド及び架橋ポリオレフィン(XLPO)ジャケット層を含む原子炉環境での使用に適した15kV ケーブルの試験を示している。ケーブルは事前に、約60年の寿命まで人工的に時効され、230MRadの放射線または350MRadの放射線を受けた。図2で示されたように、ホウ酸溶液に浸漬されると同時に、ケーブルは高温及び圧力を受ける。試験後、ケーブルは構造的且つ機能的に動作可能に維持されている。

Claims (19)
- 原子炉環境のためのケーブルであって、
一つ以上の導体、
前記一つ以上の導体を取り囲む導体シールド、
前記導体シールドを取り囲む絶縁層、
前記絶縁層を取り囲む絶縁シールド、
前記絶縁シールドを取り囲む縦添えされた波形シールド、及び
前記縦添えされた波形シールドを取り囲む架橋ポリオレフィンジャケット層を含み、
前記ケーブルは、使用中に5,000ボルトから68,000ボルトを伝導し、耐放射線性及び耐熱性であり、IEEE 323に従って測定される場合に40年以上の寿命を備えている、ケーブル。 - 使用中に15,000ボルトを伝導する、請求項1に記載のケーブル。
- 前記導体は、90℃以上の温度で、40年以上にわたり、実質的に連続して機能している、請求項1に記載のケーブル。
- 冷却剤損失事故をシミュレーションする設計基準事象の後で、IEEE 383の要件に合格する、請求項1に記載のケーブル。
- 前記設計基準事象は、1年の間のホウ酸溶液への浸漬を含み、前記ホウ酸は50℃から205℃で維持されている、請求項4に記載のケーブル。
- 前記設計基準事象に先立ち、40年以上の原子炉寿命をシミュレーションするために、100MRad以上の放射線に曝される、請求項4に記載のケーブル。
- 前記100MRad以上の放射線は、一つ以上のガンマ放射線及びベータ放射線を含む、請求項6に記載のケーブル。
- 前記架橋ポリオレフィンジャケットは、ポリエチレン及びエチレン酢酸ビニルを含む一つ以上のエチレン含有ポリマーを含む、請求項1に記載のケーブル。
- IEEE 1202の垂直トレイ燃焼試験に合格する、請求項1に記載のケーブル。
- 前記縦添えされた波形シールドは、銅または銅合金を含む金属材料から形成されている、請求項1に記載のケーブル。
- 前記縦添えされた波形シールドは、0.25インチ以上の重複を含む、請求項1に記載のケーブル。
- 前記縦添えされた波形シールドは、スズを含む外層をさらに含む、請求項1に記載のケーブル。
- 前記絶縁層はエチレン−プロピレンゴムを含む、請求項1に記載のケーブル。
- 前記縦添えされた波形シールドは、24時間、180℃での人工時効の後で、実質的に亀裂がない、請求項1に記載のケーブル。
- 前記寿命が60年以上である、請求項1に記載のケーブル。
- 前記ジャケット層は放射線硬化されている、請求項1に記載のケーブル。
- 一つ以上の請求項1に記載のケーブルを含む、原子炉。
- 原子炉環境のためのケーブルであって、
一つ以上の導体、
前記一つ以上の導体を取り囲む導体シールド、
前記導体シールドを取り囲む絶縁層、
前記絶縁層を取り囲む絶縁シールド、
前記絶縁シールドを取り囲む縦添えされた波形シールド、及び
前記縦添えされた波形シールドを取り囲む架橋ポリオレフィンジャケット層を含み、
前記ケーブルは、使用中に5,000ボルトから68,000ボルトを伝導し、熱及び100MRadsの放射線で前記ケーブルを40年以上の年まで人工時効した後で実質的に亀裂のない、ケーブル。 - 原子炉環境のためのケーブルであって、
一つ以上の導体、
前記一つ以上の導体を取り囲む導体シールド、
前記導体シールドを取り囲む絶縁層、
前記絶縁層を取り囲む絶縁シールド、
前記絶縁シールドを取り囲む縦添えされた波形シールド、及び
前記縦添えされた波形シールドを取り囲む架橋ポリオレフィンジャケット層を含み、
前記ケーブルは、使用中に5,000ボルトから68,000ボルトを伝導し、24時間の間に180℃で、且つ100MRadの放射線で40年以上の年まで前記ケーブルを人工時効した後で構造的及び機能的な完全性を維持している、ケーブル。
