Abstract
Un cable previsto para su uso en un ambiente nuclear incluye uno o más conductores, un blindaje corrugado aplicado longitudinalmente que rodea al o a los conductores y una capa de cubierta de poliolefina reticulada que rodea al blindaje corrugado aplicado longitudinalmente. El cable conduce de aprox. 5.000 voltios a aprox. 68.000 voltios cuando está activo y es resistente a la radiación y al calor. El cable tiene una vida útil de aprox. 40 años o más cuando se la mide de acuerdo con la norma IEEE 323. También se presentan los métodos para fabricar un cable y un reactor nuclear que utilice ese tipo de cable.
