Description
本発明は、加水分解された酸性のチタニル化合物からアグロメレート形態のナノ粒子状二酸化チタンを得るための方法、このようにして得られた二酸化チタン、および光触媒、プロセス触媒または吸着剤としての、特に水性系におけるその使用に関する。
ナノ粒子状二酸化チタンは、その高い比表面積および半導体特性のゆえに、吸着剤、プロセス触媒または光触媒として広く用いられている。ナノ粒子状二酸化チタンの商業生産は、通常、塩化チタニルまたは硫酸チタニルなどの酸性のチタニル化合物の加水分解と、それに続く熱処理によって行われる。硫酸チタニルは、例えば、イルメナイト鉱石などのチタン鉄原料の硫酸蒸解によって製造される。
本発明の目的は、硫酸を含み、かつナノ粒子状二酸化チタン生成物へとさらに加工処理すべき酸化チタン水和物の中和方法であって、不溶性化合物および容易に洗浄可能なフィルターケーキが形成される方法を提供することである。
(i)酸性のチタニル化合物の水溶液を準備する工程;
(ii)このチタニル化合物を加水分解して、酸化チタン水和物懸濁液を製造する工程;
(iii)この懸濁液をろ過して、得られた酸化チタン水和物フィルターケーキを洗浄する工程;
(iv)このフィルターケーキを中和する工程;および
(v)このフィルターケーキを熱処理する工程;
を含むナノ粒子状二酸化チタンを製造する方法であって、
前述の中和を、アルカリケイ酸塩および/またはアルカリアルミン酸塩の水溶液を添加することにより行う方法を対象とする。
本発明のこれらの、およびさらなる態様、特徴および利点は、以下の詳細な説明および特許請求の範囲の研究から当業者に明らかになる。本発明の一態様の各特徴は、本発明の任意の別の態様において使用されてもよい。「x〜y」の形で示された数値範囲は、言及された値および当業者に公知の各測定精度の範囲内にある値を含む。いくつかの好ましい数値範囲がこの形式で記載される場合、当然ながら、異なる終点の組み合わせによって形成されるあらゆる範囲も含まれる。本明細書に記載の組成物に関連して記載される百分率はすべて、特に明記されない限り、それぞれ当該組成物の混合物を基準とする質量パーセントに関する。
Claims (8)
- 以下の工程:
(i)酸性のチタニル化合物の水溶液を準備する工程;
(ii)前記チタニル化合物を加水分解して、酸化チタン水和物懸濁液を製造する工程;
(iii)前記懸濁液をろ過して、得られた酸化チタン水和物フィルターケーキを洗浄する工程;
(iv)前記フィルターケーキを中和する工程;および
(v)前記フィルターケーキを熱処理する工程;
を含むナノ粒子状二酸化チタンを製造する方法であって、
前記中和を、アルカリケイ酸塩および/またはアルカリアルミン酸塩の水溶液を添加することによって行うことを特徴とする方法。 - 前記水溶液が、2モルパーセント〜20モルパーセントの濃度を有することを特徴とする、請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記中和の間に、pH値を4〜9に調整することを特徴とする、請求項1または2記載の方法。
- 前記酸性のチタニル化合物が、硫酸チタニルであることを特徴とする、請求項1から3までのいずれか1項記載の方法。
- アグロメレート形態の前記ナノ粒子状二酸化チタンが、少なくとも500μmのアグロメレートサイズを有することを特徴とする、請求項1から4までのいずれか1項記載の方法。
- アグロメレート形態の前記ナノ粒子状二酸化チタンが、200m2/g〜400m2/gのBET法による比表面積を有することを特徴とする、請求項1から5までのいずれか1項記載の方法。
- 前記ナノ粒子状二酸化チタンを、水または溶媒に分散することを特徴とする、請求項1から6までのいずれか1項記載の方法。
- 前記分散されたナノ粒子状二酸化チタンが、1μm〜5μmのアグロメレートサイズを有することを特徴とする、請求項7記載の方法。
