Description
すなわち、本発明は下記<1>〜<10>に関するものである。
<1>繊維基材、摩擦調整材及び結合材を含む摩擦材であって、前記摩擦調整材として、2種以上のチタン酸化合物を含有し、前記2種以上のチタン酸化合物のメディアン径(D50)は20μm以上であり、前記2種以上のチタン酸化合物のうち少なくとも1種が、多孔質のチタン酸化合物であり、銅成分を含有しないことを特徴とする摩擦材。
<2>前記2種以上のチタン酸化合物のうち、前記多孔質のチタン酸化合物のメディアン径(D50)が最も大きいことを特徴とする<1>に記載の摩擦材。
<3>前記多孔質のチタン酸化合物のメディアン径(D50)が、70〜200μmであることを特徴とする<1>又は<2>に記載の摩擦材。
<4>前記2種以上のチタン酸化合物のうち、前記多孔質のチタン酸化合物以外の少なくとも1種のチタン酸化合物のメディアン径(D50)が、20〜60μmであることを特徴とする<1>〜<3>のいずれか1つに記載の摩擦材。
<5>前記2種以上のチタン酸化合物が、いずれもチタン酸カリウムであることを特徴とする<1>〜<4>のいずれか1つに記載の摩擦材。
<6>前記チタン酸カリウムが6チタン酸カリウムであることを特徴とする<5>に記載の摩擦材。
<7>前記2種以上のチタン酸化合物の含有量が、合計で5〜40体積%であることを特徴とする<1>〜<6>のいずれか1つに記載の摩擦材。
<8>前記多孔質のチタン酸化合物の含有量が、1〜20体積%であることを特徴とする<1>〜<7>のいずれか1つに記載の摩擦材。
<9>前記多孔質のチタン酸化合物以外の少なくとも1種のチタン酸化合物の含有量が、3〜20体積%であることを特徴とする<1>〜<8>のいずれか1つに記載の摩擦材。
<10>前記摩擦調整材として、2種類のチタン酸化合物を含有し、前記多孔質のチタン酸化合物ともう一方のチタン酸化合物の体積比率が、1:10〜5:1であることを特徴とする<1>〜<9>のいずれか1つに記載の摩擦材。
ただし、本発明の摩擦材は銅成分を含有しない。なお、「銅成分を含有しない」とは、銅成分を、耐摩耗性などの機能を発現させるための有効成分としては含有しないという意味であり、例えば、摩擦材中に不可避的にわずかに含まれる不純物等としての銅成分をも含まないことまでを意味するものではない。なお、環境負荷の観点から不純物等として混入する銅成分は0.5質量%以下であることが好ましい。
摩擦調整材は、耐摩耗性、耐熱性、耐フェード性等の所望の摩擦特性を摩擦材に付与するために用いられる。
滑材などを適宜混合することもできる。チタン酸化合物を含んだ摩擦材における摩擦調整材は摩擦材全体中、好ましくは50〜90体積%、より好ましくは60〜80体積%用いられる。
本発明に係る摩擦材に含まれる繊維基材には、通常用いられる繊維基材を通常用いられる量で使用することができ、具体的には、有機繊維、無機繊維、金属繊維が使用されるが、銅成分を含む銅繊維や青銅繊維は使用しない。
また、摩擦材における繊維基材は摩擦材全体中、好ましくは1〜40体積%、より好ましくは5〜30体積%用いられる。
また、生体溶解性無機繊維は、摩擦材の強度を向上させるという観点からその表面にシランカップリング剤等により表面処理が施されていてもよい。
本発明に係る摩擦材に含まれる結合材としては、通常用いられる種々の結合材を用いることができる。具体的には、ストレートフェノール樹脂、エラストマー等による各種変性フェノール樹脂、メラミン樹脂、エポキシ樹脂、ポリイミド樹脂等の熱硬化性樹脂が挙げられる。エラストマー変性フェノール樹脂としては、アクリルゴム変性フェノール樹脂やシリコーンゴム変性フェノール樹脂、ニトリルゴム(NBR)変性フェノール樹脂等が挙げられる。なお、これらの結合材は単独または2種以上組み合わせて用いることができる。
また、摩擦材における結合材は摩擦材全体中、好ましくは5〜30体積%、より好ましくは10〜25体積%用いられる。
摩擦材を備えたブレーキパッドの製造における一般的な工程を以下に示す。
(a)板金プレスによりプレッシャプレートを所定の形状に成形する工程、
(b)上記プレッシャプレートに脱脂処理、化成処理及びプライマー処理を施し、接着剤を塗布する工程、
(c)繊維基材、摩擦調整材、及び結合材等の原料を配合し、撹拌により十分に均質化して、常温にて所定の圧力で成形して予備成形体を作製する工程、
(d)上記予備成形体と接着剤が塗布されたプレッシャプレートとを、所定の温度及び圧力を加えて両部材を一体に固着する熱成形工程(成形温度130〜180℃、成形圧力30〜80MPa、成形時間2〜10分間)、
(e)アフターキュア(150〜300℃、1〜5時間)を行って、最終的に研摩、表面焼き、及び塗装等の仕上げ処理を施す工程。
<摩擦材の作製>
表1に示す摩擦材配合組成の原材料をミキサーにて5分間混合し、混合された攪拌材料を金型に投入し、予備成形及び加熱加圧成形を実施し摩擦材を作製した。
予備成形は圧力20MPaにて5秒間加圧することによって実施した。
この予備成形体を圧力50MPa、成形温度150℃にて6分間加熱加圧成形を行い、温度250℃にてアフターキュアを実施し加工、研摩、表面焼きを実施して、実施例1〜6、比較例1〜5及び参考例1〜2の摩擦材を作製した。
上記作製した実施例1〜6、比較例1〜5及び参考例1〜2の摩擦材について、効力試験、摩耗試験、高温貼り付き試験を行った。得られた結果を表1に示す。
JASO C406「乗用車ブレーキ装置ダイナモメータ試験方法」に準拠した効力試験を行い、第2効力(初速度130km/h、減速度0.6G)の摩擦係数(μ)を測定した。その測定値に基づき、下記の判定基準により評価した。
判定基準:μ>0.40;◎、0.40≧μ>0.36;○、0.36≧μ;×
上記効力試験を行った後の、摩擦材摩耗量X[mm]を測定した。その測定値に基づき、下記の判定基準により評価した。
判定基準:X≦0.5;◎、0.5<X≦0.65;○、0.65<X;×
JASO C406「乗用車ブレーキ装置ダイナモメータ試験方法」の摺り合わせと第1フェードの組み合わせのみで試験を行い、第1フェードにおける10回制動目のロータファイナル温度が650〜700℃となるように設定した。10回制動目において、停止時に液圧10MPaを作用させたまま2分間保持し、液圧開放時にロータを回転させ、摩擦材のロータへの貼り付きの有無を目視にて確認し、下記の判定基準により評価した。
判定基準:貼り付き無し;◎、貼り付き部分が摺動面積の0%より大きく〜15%未満;○、貼り付き部分が摺動面積の15%以上;×
また、チタン酸カリウム1を使用せずに、チタン酸カリウム2を含有した参考例2では、摩耗試験及び高温貼り付き試験では良好な結果を得ることができたが、効力試験における結果は不良であった。
Claims (9)
- 繊維基材、摩擦調整材及び結合材を含む摩擦材であって、
前記摩擦調整材として、2種以上のチタン酸化合物を含有し、
前記2種以上のチタン酸化合物のメディアン径(D50)は20μm以上であり、
前記2種以上のチタン酸化合物のうち少なくとも1種が、多孔質のチタン酸化合物であり、
前記2種以上のチタン酸化合物のうち、前記多孔質のチタン酸化合物以外の少なくとも1種のチタン酸化合物のメディアン径(D50)が、20〜60μmであり、
銅成分を含有しないことを特徴とする摩擦材。 - 前記2種以上のチタン酸化合物のうち、前記多孔質のチタン酸化合物のメディアン径(D50)が最も大きいことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の摩擦材。
- 前記多孔質のチタン酸化合物のメディアン径(D50)が、70〜200μmであることを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の摩擦材。
- 前記2種以上のチタン酸化合物が、いずれもチタン酸カリウムであることを特徴とする請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の摩擦材。
- 前記チタン酸カリウムが6チタン酸カリウムであることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の摩擦材。
- 前記2種以上のチタン酸化合物の含有量が、合計で5〜40体積%であることを特徴とする請求項1〜5のいずれか1項に記載の摩擦材。
- 前記多孔質のチタン酸化合物の含有量が、1〜20体積%であることを特徴とする請求項1〜6のいずれか1項に記載の摩擦材。
- 前記多孔質のチタン酸化合物以外の少なくとも1種のチタン酸化合物の含有量が、3〜20体積%であることを特徴とする請求項1〜7のいずれか1項に記載の摩擦材。
- 前記摩擦調整材として、2種類のチタン酸化合物を含有し、前記多孔質のチタン酸化合物ともう一方のチタン酸化合物の体積比率が、1:10〜5:1であることを特徴とする請求項1〜8のいずれか1項に記載の摩擦材。
