図2は、超音波探触子1の全体構造の一例を示す断面図である。この超音波探触子1は、超音波診断に用いられる探触子であり、その一部を被検者の体腔内に挿入し、当該体腔内において超音波を走査可能な体腔内挿入型探触子である。
図3は、図2の先端格納部7を拡大した断面図である。先端格納部7は、超音波探触子1の筐体の一部をなすウインドウ9と保持部材であるフレーム10とが接合されて構成されており、圧電素子ユニット3と、それを保持し揺動させるための揺動機構部2と、超音波信号を伝達するための音響媒体液6が充填される内部空間15を備える。
