Description

本発明は、包装材料のシートからパッケージを製造する包装機械に関する。また、本発明は、包装材料のシートからパッケージを製造する方法にも関する。
既知のように、果物ジュースや、低温殺菌又はUHT(超高温殺菌)牛乳、ワイン、トマトソース等といった多くの食品が、殺菌された包装材料製のパッケージで販売されている。
この種のパッケージの典型的な例が、ラミネートされた包装材料のストリップを折り曲げて封止することで作製される、テトラ・ブリック・アセプティック(登録商標)として知られる、液体用又は注ぐことが可能な食品用の平行六面体形状のパッケージである。
包装材料は、剛性及び強度のための基層を実質的に備える多層構造を有し、例えば紙等の繊維材料又はミネラル入りポリプロピレン材料の層と、基層の両面を覆う、例えばポリエチレンフィルム等の複数のヒートシールプラスチック材料の層を備えてもよい。
UHT牛乳といった長期保存製品用の無菌パッケージの場合には、包装材料は、例えばアルミホイル又はエチレン・ビニルアルコール(EVOH)ホイル等の気体及び光遮断材料の層も備えてもよく、この層はヒートシールプラスチック材料の層の上に重ねられて、最終的に食品に接触するパッケージの内面を形成する他のヒートシールプラスチック材料の層で覆われる。
既知のように、このようなパッケージは、ロールの形態で供給された包装材料から連続する筒が形成される完全自動の包装機械で製造される。包装材料のロール紙は、包装機械で、例えば過酸化水素水といった化学殺菌剤を付加することで殺菌され、この化学殺菌剤は、殺菌が完了すると、例えば加熱により蒸発されて包装材料の表面から取り除かれる。こうして殺菌された包装材料のロール紙は、閉鎖された殺菌環境に維持され、鉛直な筒を形成するように縦方向に折り曲げられて封止される。
この筒は、殺菌済み又は殺菌処理済みの食品が連続的に下方に充填され、封止された後、ピローパックを形成するように等間隔の断面に沿って裁断されて、完成品のパッケージを形成する折り曲げユニットに供給される。
包装機械は、溶融されたプラスチックが折り曲げ、充填及び封止される前の包装材料のロール紙上に成形されることで、製造中のパッケージの開口装置の注ぎ口が形成される成形ステーションを備えることができる。
包装機械は、包装材料に対して作業動作を行うように配置されるツールを備えることでパッケージが得られる。
包装材料は、それぞれが、上記の作業動作のひとつが行われるべき包装材料の一部分と関連付けられている複数のマークを備える。
包装機械は、固定位置に配置され、マークを読み取ってツールの位置を制御するセンサーを備える。
既知の包装機械の欠点は、ツールを、作業動作が行われるべき包装材料の各部分に対して適切に位置付けられないことである。これは主に包装材料の変形性に起因するものである。具体的には、包装材料では、マークが検出される時点と、マークと関連付けられた包装材料の部分でツールが作業動作を行う時点との間に、或る変形が起こることがある。これにより、対応する包装材料の部分に対してツールが誤って位置付けられ、パッケージの製造に障害を起こすことがある。
センサーは、例えば各マークがセンサーの前を通過する際に、マークを個別に読み取る。
2つの連続する読み取り動作間、例えば2つの連続するマークの読み取りの間では、包装材料の位置は、予測、あるいは「推測」することしかできない。包装材料の変形や包装材料に影響する動的事象(例えば、パックされる食品の包装材料の筒への充填)に起因して、包装材料の実際の位置が、予測された又は「推測された」位置と異なってしまう場合がある。
本発明の目的は既知の包装機械を改良することである。
本発明の他の目的は、包装材料に対して作業動作を行うツールを包装材料に対して高精度に位置付けられる包装機械を提供することである。
本発明の第1の態様では、請求項1に記載のように、包装材料のシートからパッケージを製造する包装機械が提供される。
本発明の第2の態様では、請求項10に記載のように、包装材料のシートからパッケージを製造する方法が提供される。
本発明の、幾つかの好適且つ非限定の実施例が、添付の図面を参照して例として説明されよう。

図1〜図6を参照すると、リール(不図示)から巻きを解かれて進路Pに沿って供給される包装材料3から、低温殺菌又はUHT牛乳や、果物ジュース、ワイン等といった注ぐことが可能な食品を入れる封止されたパッケージ2を製造する、包装機械1が示されている。包装材料は、リールから巻きを解かれると、平らなシート100の形状をもつ。
シート100は、ローラ又は同様の装置(不図示)といった既知の案内要素によって進路Pに沿って供給され、一実施例では殺菌槽を備える殺菌ユニット(不図示)を通過する。
他の実施例(不図示)では、殺菌ユニットは、例えば低電圧電子ビームを包装材料3に照射する殺菌装置といった、他の殺菌装置を備えてもよい。
シート100は進路Pに沿って供給され、その中でシート100を殺菌空気環境内に維持するチャンバ4(図1に破線で示す)を通過する。
チャンバ4は、殺菌ユニットとやり取りを行う上部6を備え、ここでは、シート100は鉛直部P1に沿って案内され、この部分P1に沿って下部8が上部6から鉛直に延在する。
下部8の内部では、シート100は円筒状へと縦方向に折り曲げられて、部分P1と同軸の縦軸線Aを有する連続する鉛直な筒9を形成する。
包装機械1は複数の形成アセンブリを備えるが、この実施例では4つの形成アセンブリ、すなわち第1形成アセンブリ11、第2形成アセンブリ12、第3形成アセンブリ13、及び第4形成アセンブリ14が示され、これらはチャンバ4の内部で部分P1に沿って設置され、シート100と相互に作用してシート100を徐々に円筒状へと折り曲げ、シート100の第1横部100aと、第1横部100aに対向するシート100の第2横部100bとを互いに重ねて、筒9を形成する。
包装機械1は、部分P1に沿って第4形成アセンブリ14の下流に設置され、重ねられた第1横部100aと第2横部100bとを封止することで筒9に流体密封の縦封止を形成する封止装置15(図1に概略的に示す)も備える。
筒9には、筒9の内部に部分的に延在し充填循環路(不図示)の一部を形成する注ぎ導管17によって、殺菌済み又は殺菌処理済みの食品が連続的に充填される。
包装機械1は、一対の顎部7が設けられ、筒9と相互に作用し、等間隔の横断面に沿って筒9を封止及び裁断してパック10を形成する、形成及び横封止ユニット5を更に備える。
包装機械2は、パック10が連続する機械的な折り曲げ操作を受けてパッケージ2を得る折り曲げユニット(不図示)も備える。
包装機械1は、進路Pに沿って殺菌ユニットの上流に設置され、シート100に開口装置を付加する付加ユニット16も備えてもよい。付加ユニット16は、プラスチック材料を成形して開口装置の注ぎ口42(図6)を形成するステーションで容易に画成され、これを通してシート100は段階的に供給される。付加ユニット16の出力において、シート100には、その中間縦部に沿って、連続する等間隔の口42が設けられる。
包装材料3は、包装材料3の対応部分21と関連付けられた複数のマーク20を備える。
図4に示す実施例では、包装材料3は、包装材料3の方向Dに沿って順々に配置される複数のユニット22を備え、各ユニット22は、折り曲げられると、対応するパッケージ2を形成するようになっている。図4に示す実施例では、各ユニット22は対応部分21を画成する。
ユニット22は互いに同一であり、具体的には、ユニット22は方向Dにおいて同じ長さを有する。各ユニット22は、包装材料3が折り曲げられると、パッケージ2の外側の装飾を構成する設計を用いてもよい。
各ユニット22は、包装材料3を包装機械1内で折り曲げて対応するパッケージ2を形成する折り目線23のパターンを備えてもよい。具体的には、全てのユニット22が同じ折り目線23のパターンを有してもよい。
各マーク20は、対応部分21に対する所定の位置に配置される。
上記のユニット22の場合では、マーク20は、対応する折り目線23のパターンに対する所定の位置に配置される。この場合、マーク20の位置は、折り目線23のパターンの位置を一意的に示す。
一実施例では、マーク20は磁場を有する磁気マークである。マーク20は、包装材料3上に装飾が印字される際に包装材料3上に散布される磁化可能なインクを通して得ることができる。その後このインクは、例えば包装材料3に折り目がつけられると、磁化される。この場合、上述したように、折り目線23のパターンの位置は対応するマーク20の位置と合致する。
他の実施例では、マーク20は光学マークである。マーク20は、包装材料3上に装飾が印字される際に得ることができる。この場合、装飾の位置が、対応するマーク20の位置と合致する。
図2及び図3を参照すると、軌道構成31と、軌道構成31に沿って互いに独立して移動可能な複数の搬送要素32とを備える、包装機械1の作業ユニット30が示されている。
軌道構成31は、個別励磁可能な複数のソレノイド(不図示)によって形成される固定子電機子を収容し、搬送要素32は永久磁石(不図示)を収容する。
搬送要素32は、ソレノイドを個別に制御することで軌道構成31に沿って独立して移動することが可能である。
他の実施例では、軌道構成31は永久磁石を収容し、搬送要素32は個別励磁可能なソレノイドを収容する。
各搬送要素32は、包装材料3の対応部分21に対して或る作業動作を行う包装機械1のツール40又は装置を担持するように配置される。
図2及び図3に示す実施例では、軌道構成31は閉鎖ループの形状をもち、搬送要素32によって運ばれる、包装材料3と相互に作用するツール40が伴う作業部分34と、戻り部分35とを備える。
各搬送要素32は、対応するマーク20を検出して、搬送要素33に対するマーク20の位置を示す信号を生成するように配置されるセンサー装置33を備える。
マーク20が磁気マークの場合、センサー装置33は磁気センサーを備える。
マーク20が光学マークの場合、センサー装置33は光学センサーを備える。
マーク20は、包装材料3に付加された、関連付けられた、又は組み込まれた任意の種類のマークであってよい。
同様に、センサー装置33は対応するマーク20を読み取り可能な任意の種類のセンサーであってよい。
包装機械1は、搬送要素32の位置を上記の信号に基づいて軌道構成31に沿って制御するように配置される制御ユニット(不図示)を更に備える。
具体的には、センサー装置33は、搬送要素からのマーク20の距離を検出し、制御ユニットに信号を送信する。
制御ユニットは、信号に基づいて、マーク20を有する包装材料3の部分21に対する搬送要素32の実際位置Rと、マーク20を有する包装材料3の部分21に対する搬送要素32の目標位置Tとの差異を測定する。すなわち、制御ユニットは実際位置Rと目標位置Tとの間の距離dを算出する。
実際位置Rと目標位置Tとの間の差異は、包装材料3の変形性に起因することがある。
続いて、制御ユニットは搬送要素32を軌道構成31に沿って駆動することで距離dを最小化する。すなわち、制御ユニットは搬送要素32を軌道構成31に沿って駆動して、実際位置Rが目標位置Tに一致するようにする。
図5を参照すると、作業ユニット30が包装機械1の形成及び横封止ユニット5である実施例が示されている。
形成及び横封止ユニット5は、互いに独立して移動可能な複数対の顎部7を備える。
この場合、軌道構成31は、複数の第1搬送要素32aがその上を移動可能な第1軌道31aと、複数の第2搬送要素32bがその上を移動可能な第2軌道31bとを備える。
第1軌道31aと第2軌道31bとは互いに対して平行であり、包装材料3の筒9の両側に配置される。
具体的には、各対の顎部7は、第1搬送要素32aが有する第1顎部7aと、第2搬送要素32bが有する第2顎部7bとを備える。
一実施例では、第1顎部7aは封止要素(不図示)を担持し、第2顎部7bは、動作中に封止要素と協働する逆圧要素(不図示)を担持する。
各第1搬送要素32aは第1センサー装置33aを備える。
各第2搬送要素32bは第2センサー装置33bを備える。
動作中、第1センサー装置33a及び第2センサー装置33bは、形成されて封止されるべきである、既に筒構造に折り曲げられている包装材料3の部分21と関連付けられたマーク20の位置を検出する。
制御ユニットは、第1搬送要素32a、すなわち第1顎部7aの実際位置Rと、第1搬送要素32a、すなわち第1顎部7aの目標位置Tとの差異を測定し、第1搬送要素32aを第1軌道31aに沿って移動させることで、実際位置Rと目標位置Tとの間の距離dを最小化する。
同様に、制御ユニットは、第2搬送要素32b、すなわち第2顎部7bの実際位置Rと、第2搬送要素32b、すなわち第2顎部7bの目標位置Tとの差異を測定し、第2搬送要素32bを第2軌道31bに沿って移動させることで、実際位置Rと目標位置Tとの間の距離dを最小化する。
これにより、第1顎部7a及び第2顎部7bは、部分20に対して正しい位置に配置される。これによって、包装材料3の良好な折り曲げ及び封止が得られるため、良質なパッケージ2を得ることができる。
図6を参照すると、作業ユニット30が包装機械1の付加ユニット16である実施例が示されている。
付加ユニット16は、互いに独立して移動可能な複数の型41を備える。
この場合、軌道構成31は、それぞれが対応する型41を担持する複数の搬送要素32cがその上を移動可能な軌道31cを備える。
各搬送要素32cはセンサー装置33cを備える。
動作中、センサー装置33cは、開口装置の口42が形成されるべきである、包装材料3の部分21と関連付けられたマーク20の位置を検出する。
制御ユニットは、搬送要素32c、すなわち型41の実際位置Rと、搬送要素32c、すなわち型41の目標位置Tとの差異を測定し、搬送要素32cを軌道31cに沿って移動させることで、実際位置Rと目標位置Tとの間の距離dを最小化する。
これにより、型41は、部分20に対して正しい位置に配置される。これによって、溶融されたプラスチック材料を部分21の正しい領域に成形できるため、良質な口42を得ることができる。
各搬送要素32がセンサー装置33を備えるという事実及び、各搬送装置32が、軌道構成31上の他の搬送装置32から独立して移動可能であるという事実によって、ツール40を、所望の動作が行われるべき包装材料3の部分21に対して極めて正確に位置付けることができる。更に、部分21に対するツール40の位置が、包装材料3の変形によって不利な影響を受けることがない。
本明細書に記載され示されている包装機械に対して、添付の請求項に定義される本発明の範囲から逸脱することなく変更が行われてもよいことは明白である。

Claims (3)

  1. 包装材料(3)のシートからパッケージ(2)を製造する包装機械であって、前記包装材料(3)が、前記包装材料(3)の対応部分(21)と関連付けられた複数のマーク(20)を備え、
    軌道構成(31)と複数の搬送要素(32)とを有する作業ユニット(30)を備え、各搬送要素(32)が、前記包装材料(3)に対して作業動作を行うように配置されるツール(40)を担持し、前記搬送要素(32)が前記軌道構成(31)上を互いに独立して移動可能である、包装機械において、
    前記搬送要素(32)のそれぞれが、対応するマーク(20)を検出して前記搬送要素(32)に対する前記マーク(20)の位置を示す信号を生成するように配置されるセンサー装置(33)を備え、
    前記搬送要素(32)の位置を前記信号に基づいて前記軌道構成(31)に沿って制御するように配置される制御ユニットを更に備え
    前記作業ユニット(30)が、前記包装材料(3)で形成され且つ包装される製品が充填される筒(9)を等間隔の横断面に沿って封止及び裁断してパック(10)を形成し、その後前記パック(10)に機械的な折り曲げ動作を施して前記パッケージ(2)を得る、形成及び横封止ユニット(5)であり、
    前記形成及び横封止ユニット(5)が、前記筒(9)と相互に作用して前記筒(9)を封止及び裁断するように配置される、互いに独立して移動可能な複数対の顎部(7)を備え、
    前記軌道構成(31)が、複数の第1搬送要素(32a)がその上を移動可能な第1軌道(31a)と、複数の第2搬送要素(32b)がその上を移動可能な第2軌道(31b)とを備え、各対の顎部(7)が、前記複数の第1搬送要素のうちの第1搬送要素(32a)が有する第1顎部(7a)と、前記複数の第2搬送要素のうちの第2搬送要素(32b)が有する第2顎部(7b)とを備え、各第1搬送要素(32a)が第1センサー装置(33a)を備え、各第2搬送要素(32b)が第2センサー装置(33a)を備える、包装機械。
  2. 前記第1軌道(31a)と前記第2軌道(31b)とが互いに対して平行であり、前記筒(9)の両側に配置される、請求項に記載の包装機械。
  3. 前記軌道構成(31)が、個別励磁可能な複数のソレノイドを収容して、前記搬送要素(32)が永久磁石を収容するか、又は、前記搬送要素(32)が個別励磁可能な複数のソレノイドを収容して、前記軌道構成(31)が永久磁石を収容し、前記搬送要素(32)を、前記ソレノイドを個別に制御することで前記軌道構成(31)に沿って独立して移動させることが可能である、請求項1または2に記載の包装機械。
