第3の態様において、内層厚を有する内層を提供することと、内層の一方の側に、第1の被覆層厚を有する第1の被覆層を提供することと、内層の他方の側に、第2の被覆層厚を有する第2の被覆層を提供することとを含む、移植組織のための積層膜を製造する方法が提供される。
第1の被覆層12は、内層11の一方の側を全体に被覆し得る。第2の被覆層13は、内層12の他方の側を全体に被覆し得る。
当業者は、いずれの材料が別の材料よりも低い摩擦であるかを判断する、多くの方法を認識するであろう。例えば、比較される材料は、平坦な表面を有するように形成されてよく、これらの表面の(それ自体または別の一般的な表面に対する)表面エネルギー、表面粗度、または静摩擦係数を、当業者によって確認され得るように測定してもよい。試験される材料の各々の平坦表面は、同じ処理(例えば電界紡糸、押し出し成形、フィルム成形、ディップ成形、回転成形、噴霧堆積、または蒸気堆積(換言すれば、蒸着)など)によって形成され得る。
第1の被覆層12および/または第2の被覆層13の弾性は、内層11の弾性より高いか、または等しくてよい。このような場合、積層膜10は、恒久的に変形する恐れなく、より小さい径方向の外形を有する収縮送達構成を可能にし得る。なぜなら、積層膜10を曲げる間に、内層11よりも大きく伸長される第1の被覆層12および/または第2の被覆層13は、内層11よりも良好に伸縮できるからである。
例えば、内層11はポリウレタン(PU)で構成されてよく、第1の被覆層12および第2の被覆層13の各々は、ポリテトラフルオロエチレン(PTFE)から構成されてよい。この場合、PUの内層11は、積層膜10に高い剛性をもたらし、その一方でPTFEの第1の被覆層12および第2の被覆層13は、低い摩擦を有する積層膜10の外表面となる。高い剛性は、積層膜10が確実に収縮送達構成から拡張展開構成へ移行するのを可能にして、その一方で低い摩擦面は、移動中の変形を軽減させ得る。
内層厚Xは4〜8μmであってよく、第1の被覆層厚Yおよび第2の被覆層厚Zは1〜3μmであってよい。別の実施形態において、内層厚Xは6〜10μmであってよく、第1の被覆層厚Yおよび第2の被覆層厚Zは1〜4μmであってよい。
さらに、上記の積層膜は、コアおよび複数の可撓性剛毛を伴う閉塞形成装置に関して説明したが、本開示による積層体は、任意のタイプの閉塞形成装置にも適用可能である。
一実施形態において、積層膜は、収縮送達構成および拡張展開構成を有するように構成される。閉塞形成装置は閉塞形成コイルを備えてもよい。積層膜は、この閉塞形成コイルの少なくとも一部の周りに配設され得る。積層膜の少なくとも一部は、閉塞形成コイルにおける隣接した巻きの間に配設され得る。
さらに、上記の製造方法は、層の各々を形成するために電界紡糸処理を用いるが、様々な他の製造方法が使用され得る。例えば層は、電界紡糸、押し出し成形、フィルム成形、ディップ成形、回転成形、噴霧堆積、または蒸気堆積によって形成され得る。さらに、異なる層は異なる方法で形成され得る。例えば、内層はディップ成形または噴霧成形から形成され得る。第1の被覆層、および第2の被覆層の各々は、内層の上に電界紡糸で形成され得る。
