IR=10×n×log(F/B)
図2に示したような構造の素子を製作した後にCoherent社のGenesis MX SLMレーザーを該当素子に入射(10mW出力)させて素子をテストした。素子の製作に使われたホログラフィック光学素子(図2の100、200)としては、いずれも公知の方式で製作された素子を使った。すなわち、前記ホログラフィック光学素子は、厚さが約5μm〜30μm程度であるフォトポリマーに光源として532nmの波長を有するCoherent社のGenesis MX SLMレーザーを使った干渉計で200mW程度のレーザー出力で製作した。前記フォトポリマーの露光前の屈折率は約1.5程度であり、露光後の干渉模様の屈折率差は約0.03程度であった。
Claims (8)
- 少なくとも一つの光孤立素子を含む光孤立装置であり、
前記光孤立素子は、それぞれ入光面と出光面を含む第1ホログラフィック素子、第2ホログラフィック素子、λ/4板であるリターダーおよび反射型偏光器をこの順序で含み、
前記第1ホログラフィック素子は、入光面に−90度超過かつ90度未満の範囲内である第1角度の入射角で入射した入射光を前記第1角度とは異なる第2角度の出射角で出射させ得る光学素子であり、
前記第2ホログラフィック素子は、入光面に第3角度の入射角で入射した入射光は透過させ、前記第3角度とは異なる第4角度の入射角で出光面に入射した入射光は該当入射光の方向と平行な方向に反射させることができる光学素子であり、
前記第2〜第4角度はそれぞれ0度超過かつ90度未満の範囲であるか、−90度超過かつ0度未満の範囲内であり、
前記第2角度と前記第3角度の差の絶対値は0度〜10度の範囲内であり、
前記第3角度と第4角度の合計の絶対値は0度〜10度の範囲内である、光孤立装置。 - 下記の数式1で規定される孤立度IRが3dB以上である、請求項1に記載の光孤立装置:

数式1において、IRは孤立度であり、nは光孤立装置内に含まれる光孤立素子の個数であり、Fは第1ホログラフィック素子の入光面から出光面に向かう方向に光孤立装置に入射した光の透過率であり、Bは前記第1ホログラフィック素子の出光面から入光面に向かう方向に光孤立装置に入射した光の透過率である。 - 反射型偏光器がワイヤーグリッド偏光器、二重輝度上昇フィルムまたはコレステリック液晶フィルムである、請求項1または2に記載の光孤立装置。
- 反射型偏光器はリターダーを透過した光が第5角度である入射角で前記反射型偏光器に入射するように位置し、前記第5角度と第3角度の差の絶対値は0度〜10度の範囲内である、請求項1から3のいずれか一項に記載の光孤立装置。
- 第1ホログラフィック素子の入光面から出光面に向かう方向に沿って反射型偏光器を透過した光の光経路を制御するためのプリズムまたは反射板をさらに含む、請求項1から4のいずれか一項に記載の光孤立装置。
- 第1ホログラフィック素子の入光面から出光面に向かう方向に沿って反射型偏光器を透過した光が入射し得る位置に位相遅延板をさらに含む、請求項1から5のいずれか一項に記載の光孤立装置。
- 位相遅延板は、その遅相軸が反射型偏光器の透過軸と40度〜50度の範囲内のいずれか一つの角度または130度〜140度の範囲内のいずれか一つの角度をなすように配置されている、請求項6に記載の光孤立装置。
- 位相遅延板は、λ/2板およびλ/4板を含む、請求項6または7に記載の光孤立装置。
