Description
IR=10×n×log(F/B)
図3のような形態の素子を製作し、その性能をテストした。この過程で反射型偏光器100としては、金属ワイヤーグリッド偏光子(Wire Grid Polarizer)を使ったのであり、再帰反射器200としては反射型傾斜ルーバーフィルムを適用したのであり、リターダー300としては、Thorlabs社の製品(WPQ05M−532)を使った。前記のような素子に対してCoherent社のGenesis MX SLMレーザーを入射(10mW出力)させて素子をテストした。このような方式で得られた正方向透過率は約76%程度であり、逆方向透過率は約36%程度であり、孤立度(IR)は約3.2dB程度であった。
Claims (16)
- 一つ以上の単位素子を含む、光ダイオードであり、
前記単位素子は、順に配置されている偏光変換素子及び偏光子を含み、
前記偏光子は、吸収型線型偏光子であり、
前記偏光変換素子は、非偏光入射光を1種の偏光に変換させて出光させる偏光変換素子であり、前記偏光変換素子の透過率は50%以上であり、
前記偏光変換素子は、再帰反射器、および互いに垂直モードペアの第1偏光と第2偏光のうち第1偏光は透過させ、第2偏光は反射させる反射型偏光器を含み、
前記再帰反射器は、前記反射型偏光器によって反射した第2偏光が入射し得る位置に位置し、
前記光ダイオードは、前記偏光変換素子から前記偏光子へ向かう方向に前記偏光子を透過した光が入射する位置に位置されているλ/4板である位相遅延板を更に含み、
前記位相遅延板の遅相軸は、前記偏光子の透過軸と40度〜50度の範囲内又は130度〜140度の範囲内の角度をなすように配置されている、
光ダイオード。 - 前記1種の偏光は線偏光または円偏光である、請求項1に記載の光ダイオード。
- 前記再帰反射器は、ホログラフィックフィルムまたは反射型傾斜ルーバーフィルムである、請求項1または2に記載の光ダイオード。
- 前記反射型偏光器は、偏光光線分離器、ワイヤーグリッド偏光器、二重輝度上昇フィルムまたはコレステリック液晶フィルムである、請求項1から3のいずれか一項に記載の光ダイオード。
- 前記偏光変換素子は、反射型偏光器によって再帰反射器に反射した第2偏光の光経路に位置するリターダーをさらに含む、請求項4に記載の光ダイオード。
- 前記リターダーは、λ/4板である、請求項5に記載の光ダイオード。
- 前記反射型偏光器はコレステリック液晶フィルムである、請求項1から3のいずれか一項に記載の光ダイオード。
- 前記反射型偏光器であるコレステリック液晶フィルムを透過した第1偏光が入射される位置に配置されたリターダーをさらに含み、前記リターダーはλ/4板である、請求項7に記載の光ダイオード。
- 前記偏光変換素子は、入射光が反射型偏光器に0度超過、90度未満の角度で入射し得るようにする光経路制御器をさらに含む、請求項1から8のいずれか一項に記載の光ダイオード。
- 前記偏光変換素子は、反射型偏光器を透過した2個以上の光であって、互いに光経路が異なる2個以上の光の光経路を一致させるように形成された光経路制御器をさらに含む、請求項1から9のいずれか一項に記載の光ダイオード。
- 二つ以上の単位素子を含む光ダイオードであって、
前記単位素子は、順に配置されている偏光変換素子および偏光子を含み、
前記偏光子は、吸収型線型偏光子であり、
前記偏光変換素子は、非偏光入射光を1種の偏光に変換させて出光させる偏光変換素子であり、前記偏光変換素子の透過率は50%以上であり、
前記偏光変換素子は、再帰反射器、及び互いに垂直モードペアの第1偏光と第2偏光のうち第1偏光は透過させ、第2偏光は反射させる反射型偏光器を含み、
前記再帰反射器は、前記反射型偏光器によって反射した第2偏光が入射し得る位置に位置し、
前記二つ以上の単位素子は、前記偏光変換素子から前記偏光子へ向かう方向に一つの単位素子の偏光子を透過した光が、他の単位素子に入射し得るように配置されている、
光ダイオード。 - 前記偏光変換素子は1種の線偏光を生成する、請求項11に記載の光ダイオード。
- 前記偏光子は、一方向に形成された透過軸と前記透過軸と垂直な方向に形成された吸収軸を有する吸収型線型偏光子であり、前記偏光子は、前記透過軸が偏光変換素子で生成した線偏光と平行な方向に形成されるように配置されている、請求項12に記載の光ダイオード。
- 前記偏光変換素子で生成して偏光子を透過した光が入射し得る位置に位相遅延板をさらに含む、請求項11から13のいずれか一項に記載の光ダイオード。
- 前記位相遅延板は、その遅相軸が偏光子の透過軸と40度〜50度の範囲内のいずれか一つの角度または130度〜140度の範囲内のいずれか一つの角度をなすように配置されている、請求項14に記載の光ダイオード。
- 前記位相遅延板は、λ/4板である、請求項14または15に記載の光ダイオード。
